Rooting - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First LG device coming from a Galaxy S4, in the S4 there is Knox which can be tripped by rooting. Is there any way in which somebody can know if the G3 has been previously rooted?

From my knowledge, no. LG doesn't come with any security tripping that can't be reset with a stock rom. This was the entire reason I didn't get an S5 and started researching other devices. I'm glad I did since the G3 is far superior to the S5 in my humble opinion.

[Q] N7100 Colombia 4.3 Update

Hello
So I would like to ask something..
I bought a Galaxy Gear during Holidays but the 4.3 android update hasn't arrived to my carrier yet.. In fact, it is not available in Colombia right now.
so, my question is, if I update using an international official ROM like the United States one or Argentina.. or the one that was leaked, is my warranty void? what happens to the knox flag? will it change to 01? what could happen if I try to install the official 4.3 when it arrives to Colombia?
is it true that if I void KNOX warranty, I would not be able to update to 4.4 or later in the next update? how can i make the galaxy gear fully functional in my phone?
I know they're a lot of questions, but I can't fully understand and I really want to use my Galaxy Gear right now. I have a N7100 model and the 4.1.2. update
Thx
Well i would say you are one lucky guy you still have android 4.1.2 on your phone.
On your firmware you dont have KNOX , once you install 4.3 you have KNOX.
in your place i would read more and find out how to put a custom ROM on your note.
and you could have your Android 4.3/gear watch support without having KNOX.

[Q] Unlocking AT&T S4

I have an AT&T Galaxy S 4, SGH-I337 running Android 4.4.2 and I want to unlock it. I haven't had any luck with doing it my self through the Service Menu, I guess due to KitKat.
My question is If I use Towelroot to root my phone, will I be able to unlock my phone and use on T-Mobile?
Thanks for all the great stuff on your site!
This is a question for the AT&T Gs4 forum.

G928A firmware downgrade?

I'd firstly like to state I am new to the forums, and give my thanks to brilliant people who give guys like me somewhere to turn. Now, my question is, is it possible to downgrade from MM PJ1 to OGG or OJ1 or lollipop in general. I've seen a similiar thread about a UAE version or somethung that said it was possible. I have successfully downgraded a Note 3 from lollipop to kitkat, which has locked bootloader too if I'm correct..?, but I would like to have any input before I do this as it is my main phone. Thanks!
yes it is possible.

So in theory, i could downgrade to Lollipop and use the kernal auto-root to possibly get rotot? I just got an HTC 10 so I'm really itching to mess around with that s6 Edge Plus. Lol.

Can I flash 5.1.1 phone down to 4.4.4?

Can I downgrade 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 is original ROM still available and would it affect anything like Knox? Or it's the same crap with locked BT and it would remain from 5.1.1? I don't plan any rooting just plain OEM stuff.
Ok there is life in Note II threads, but Note 4 is still one model behind the flagship...
Sadly this thread is also dead...

These are all stock versions from around the world. No root needed.
Where can I learn how to install this new rom?
Thanks for uploading these. Back when I had Galaxy S7, I was able to flash the F firmware on a SKT variant (Korean) S7. I wonder if I can do the same with G965N. Specifically, I'd like to install G965F firmware on G965N. I know that I probably would not flash CSC, Modem, or BL from the F firmware but I at least want to use G965F's system, without tripping KNOX. If anyone had any luck on this, please let me know.
download N version, unzip, no luck odin fail to flash

May security patch for SM-G960U, will pass SafeNet. Yes I know it says Galaxy S9+. Trust me it's not.

Where did you get this? Where is it from? I'm downloading it now, but it will take a few hours.
I didn't upload it but this is the same version Verizon is pushing right now. Works on all US carrier S9's though.
these won't work on F/FD
tried to bypass the eom lock but just couldn't boot up
So How do I go from this to a functionnal, "as new" S9 not in "factory binaries" mode ?
Thanks!
