Hi Desire Users..
I've bought a new TMobile Germany Desire.
I rooted it from the beginning..
After a few weeks i had problems with my SDCard Slot
(Card was not found until i restarted my phone)
So i flashed the wellknown TMobile UK Rom and changed my desire at the Shop to another one.
Yesterday i got my new phone.
But on the flyer i got too was a little message. The can send me a bill in following 30 days if my phone is not under waranty.
Now i want to ask you:
Had anybody the same case?
Where there any problems?
Thanks...
Nobody waranty cases? Now i have my 4. Desire!
But i have a htc desire without branding now.

Everyone I've heard speaking of it has gotten a repair or exchange under warranty, almost regardless of rebranding/root I dont think HTC care, as your rom is so close to the stock. Lets just hope so.
Thats one advantage of Android, you can customize it so much even on stock that they can't find you for rooting it. Usually when I send it back to warranty I either screw it up a lot or make it look like stock.
If they send you a letter after a few weeks ask them to prove that you rooted the phone. Then kindly remind them the phone has not been in your hands for a while.
Hi all,
Had a wee look round and cant find anything other than dead links.
I'm looking for the original RUU for my Desire HD. Selling it and the person wants it back to stock.
My desire hd was an unlocked UK model. Anyone got the official RUU kicking about?
Cheers

There you go. Hope I helped
hi everyone thank you for taking the time to read my post. my htc magic is give me a few problems. it's been a great phone for about a year I got it before it was discontinued. the phone is being replaced under warranty exchange. I had a few smarphones to pick from wildfire. s seemed to be the best. one. looking at the forms the Gsm / T-Mobile model can't be rooted. looks like I should just sent it back and get a different phone. is this the right thing to do should I hold out until soft were method for rooting can be obtained. at most I have a few days to decide. I love to see any feedback on his issue
First of all, WS is not bad phone at all.
For average user,it's more than ok. The biggest problem is it can not be rooted without xtc clip.
If you are not advanced user, keep it. If you can afford some other phone, replace WS.

Right, only you can softroot with a software (zergrush and an modified adb sequence). But if u don't know what u do, then read all and read and read.
Thanks for all the feed back. There are a few things I like about this phone. BY default wireless tether is turned on. It has android 2.3
As far as what I can afford, this phone is a warranty exchange so I was limited with my choices.
at some point i would like to put a custom rom on this phone. The boot Loader is locked so that's out of the question. Looks like most every one here has the same problem so I guess I joined the club. I will just cross my fingers and hope that HTC dose what it promised and unlocks the boot loader.
Worst case I will have this phone for about 8 months be stuck at android 2.3 upgrade and think very hard about buying any thing from a company that locks the boot loader. Thanks for taking the time to ready my post
First , welcome to the club.
Second, don't count on HTC to unlock bootloader for this phone. If they ever do that, it will be too late, this phone will be forgotten by devs.

hi every one, i bought one x (tegra) today and it's fantastic smartphone! But i've got a question: if i unlock bootloader with htcdev.com tool, i'll lose warranty, and if i reblock it, problem is the same. is it possible to do anything or not?
p.s. i didn't unlock it yet, it's only for info

Do you mean RETURN, or warranty repair. Two separate things. Returns are usually limited to a 30 day window, in which case my advice to you would be to wait 30 days to make sure you want to keep the phone before you unlock it. That's the safest way to go.
As for warranty replacements/repairs, that's more of a grey area and I'm not honestly sure.

so if i unlock device and it casually breaks, it will be repaired without any problem?
and if it'll brick (software)?

If you brick it due to custom roms or overclock then no you are not covered. If it is say due to screen pops out and not your fault then you are covered mate. So in general hardware related and not caused by you you are covered. Hardware issues but cause of third party software then you are not . There is a thread in general which goes more.in depth
