That is probably your version of my dual camera mode. Simultaneous picture taking using both cameras. Out places a picture of the taker on the picture taken.

No dual camera mode is under Mode(Modo)
Just looked at my camera, and the location where that option is, on my D850 is the grid option
Also OP - why is your camera setting W2M? lowest I get is 3M and my Wide(w is 10M)
that is when you are using the front facing camera to take a selfie. it selects whether the picture is a normal camera shot or flipped like a mirror image.
when the 13mp camera is active that icon place shows the grid.

Good thread.
So which one is the default / common / better option to use with mirroring or not? And which one means mirroring, opposite facing heads?
Not to hijack this, but what's the slide on the bottom do when in front facing camera mode?

The slider softens the image for more "beautiful" face on the selfies...
BTW this is the front facing camera, and not the main one...

No way to figure that out without knowing. Is that in the "manual" somewhere?

Just test it, try first with the slider all the way to the left, and then to the right...
You will notice the difference immediatly...

Hey guys,
Are there any tweaks to the camera settings to have it take better quality photos? I know this topic has been killed to death about it's crap image quality, but I'd like to know what I can do to improve the images. I've noticed that the lower light photos are especially horrible and throws a yellow tinge in there for some reason.
Been using the Camera Zoom FX app to replace the stock camera app and I honestly do not see the fuss about the camera issues. It literally snaps the photo instantly as soon as you tap the screen. It focuses and takes a perfect clear high quality photo in less than a second even with flash on. Try it for yourself. The Galaxy Nexus has quite a quick little camera and looks quite nice for only 5MP. Combine that with that large vibrant 720p screen... ohhh yeah!

If you tap on the screen on the subject of your photo, say if you're taking a picture of your cat, the camera will auto-focus on that spot, giving you a sharper, clearer picture.

Here's an example (don't worry too much about the yellowish tint in my picture, as the ambient lighting from my lamps was already yellowish).

Just make sure to always focus properly and try using longer exposure time for low light pictures. Don't worry about the colour balance too much cause you can always adjust the colours later.

I've noticed holding the camera button down for a second then releasing takes a better picture than just tapping the button.

Ok cool thanks guys, I'll try those suggestions to see if it'll help.
i found out if you focus the camera properly, the quality turned out better.

Camera Zoom FX with flash in torch mode, taken in low ambient light. For comparison, Torch mode in Camera Zoom FX prevents the picture from being overly bright as can be the case with the traditional flash.

Mine works perfectly. Can you post an example of what yours looks like? Or is it just when viewing it in sphere mode?

The photo does not render correctly. There is times where the photo is cut off on the bottom. There is also times where the squares do not match up and it looks like an unfinished puzzle.
http://d-h.st/2zj this is the version im using (just in case itz a version issue).
The photos are normally cut off at the top and bottom leaving two black circles if thats what you mean.

It just doesn't render correctly on my Note 2. It is a UK version so I don't know if the phone is the problem or not. Also, sometimes there is purple spots on the panorama.

hi to all,
i have planned to take a light tracing foto using HTC one X...
is it possible to take? if possible can any one help me how to take a foto with HTC one X... []
cheers,

Can you explain what is a light tracing foto ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
He probably means a light painting image, where the shutter is open for a couple of seconds.
But yes, it is possible with the right app. I don't really use any camera app other than the HTC one but I bet Camera ZOOM FX should have an option like setting exposure time?

In order to achieve this the camera shutter has to stay open for a while. The stock Camera app cannot do this. Try Camera Zoom FX or Vignette from the play store. I've not used them before so I'm not sure if they have this feature.

I've been wondering about this since I saw it in the Samsung Galaxy Camera TV advert... :victory:
search for Camera FV-5, it the only app that i know can set our camera to bulb mode or slow down our shutter speed (I suppose you know the mode I'm talking about).
But still horrible to play light painting.. And need to remind you.. phone camera can't adjust shutter speed and normally people use bulb mode to play this trick. If you find any way for this.. please let me know.

Hello,
I am looking for an app tha replaces the camera app on CM11. The one in CM11 is buggy and the screen does not show the actual picture it is zoomed in always for some reason. I tried Google Camera (but it doesnt save on SD), I tried Better Camera but I dont like it's design.
I am looking for an app that replaces BOTH video recorder and camera photo shooter, like better camera does.
Thanks.
Usually when I debloat CM11 roms I remove the camera app as well. I use this lightweight ICS Camera...I have attached the apk...you can try that but options and controls take up some screen space....good luck

Why do you think that the cm11 cam is buggy? It functions quite well. Yes, there is this issue that the actual taken picture is bigger than shown on the screen while taking the foto but I remember this was present in earlier versions of cm too. If you have any other issues feel free to post them in the nighties/snapshot bugs & discussion thread or post them to Jira.

Its not buggy. Actually by default the picture size is 8mp (4:3 ratio), so the cm camera in order to fit the preview in the 16:9 screen, it crops the bottom side of the picture. Now, if you change the size to 6mp (16:9 ratio), the photo will have exactly the same size with the preview screen if that's what you want but it'll have lower resolution (6mp instead of 8mp). I attached two photos to see the difference. The first one has 3264x1836 (6mp) resolution while the second has 8mp 3264χ2448 (8mp) resolution.

Yeah your app looks great but why are there ads in it?
I have a quite annoying issue.
As i am left handed, when i use the camera i put the button on the left side of the screen in order to take a photo.
The photos are marked as 180 degrees in the details, as a result wherever i post this photo (forums,fb, etc) it is always posted rotated 180°.
If i try to rotate and save the photos from any app, the photos are still rotated 180°!

It is not site's problem. G4 marks the picture as rotated 180 degrees and rotates automatically in some sites. For example in this image host site, the picture is uploaded 180 deg rotated -->

No.
The image data itself will be turned the wrong way in this situation, but the phone adds a tag in the image that says how to orient the data for displaying the jpg. So any website or JPG viewer that fails to interpret that tag, will display the underlying data in the wrong orientation.
If you want to fix the image, you can easily just right-click from Windows, and use the "rotate" command to rotate the image to the correct orientation before uploading to the website.
I have the same issue. I'm surprised people aren't complaining about it. Guess they don't take photos. The issue i have is when i take portrait photos it rotates then 90 when i post images.

No, probably because everything works just fine :good:
Windows 10 animates the thumbnails the wrong direction too. Opening the image is correct. Some phones rotate the images in the phone and store them that way. Lg users a tag.
Really?
