I have a quite annoying issue.
As i am left handed, when i use the camera i put the button on the left side of the screen in order to take a photo.
The photos are marked as 180 degrees in the details, as a result wherever i post this photo (forums,fb, etc) it is always posted rotated 180°.
If i try to rotate and save the photos from any app, the photos are still rotated 180°!

It is not site's problem. G4 marks the picture as rotated 180 degrees and rotates automatically in some sites. For example in this image host site, the picture is uploaded 180 deg rotated -->

It is really annoying if you are left-handed..

No.
The image data itself will be turned the wrong way in this situation, but the phone adds a tag in the image that says how to orient the data for displaying the jpg. So any website or JPG viewer that fails to interpret that tag, will display the underlying data in the wrong orientation.
If you want to fix the image, you can easily just right-click from Windows, and use the "rotate" command to rotate the image to the correct orientation before uploading to the website.
I have the same issue. I'm surprised people aren't complaining about it. Guess they don't take photos. The issue i have is when i take portrait photos it rotates then 90 when i post images.

No, probably because everything works just fine :good:
Windows 10 animates the thumbnails the wrong direction too. Opening the image is correct. Some phones rotate the images in the phone and store them that way. Lg users a tag.
Really?

One quick question is it possible to change the caller I'd screen into full screen instead of the little pic but not by using an app that only works sometimes. Is there a way to change the dimensions in an apk somewhere
this is something that I'm hoping somebody is working on right now. There used to be one for the g1, but the work for it has been discontinued.
+ 1 here. Or at least make the picture look better, like high res or something.

There's an app on the market for full screen caller id. You can set the level of integration in the app setting for incoming and outgoing calls, video caller id, or sms. I've had virtually no problems with it, just tweak the settings and its great. Just search the market for "full screen caller id"
Any luck on where that other thread is? Never heard of it and search is down at the moment.

Mine works perfectly. Can you post an example of what yours looks like? Or is it just when viewing it in sphere mode?

The photo does not render correctly. There is times where the photo is cut off on the bottom. There is also times where the squares do not match up and it looks like an unfinished puzzle.
http://d-h.st/2zj this is the version im using (just in case itz a version issue).
The photos are normally cut off at the top and bottom leaving two black circles if thats what you mean.

It just doesn't render correctly on my Note 2. It is a UK version so I don't know if the phone is the problem or not. Also, sometimes there is purple spots on the panorama.

You need 4.2 gallery to view the pics not the Samsung default gallery

Hii
i am using gnex slimbean 4.3. now i am facing little problem with camera. it is not a big problem. but i need some help.
here is the screenshot on camera view. ( i always hide navigation bar, and status bar )

But while i tried to capture img,.. it ends like this
both are not the same. captured image resolution is 2592*1944.
but actual screen view area is 2508*1412
is there is anyway to add a particular resolution in camera...because recently i took more than 100 images. but when i saw those images again i cannot get the same view, as i saw in the screenshot.
sorry for my english...if anyone knows how to do this, pls guide me how to do this. thank you
That is how the camera works on most phones. The camera app is full screen, and the phone is 16:9 or 16:10 ratio usually. However. The camera takes shots that are more square, probably 4:3 ratio. Instead of having black columns on the side it cuts off the top and bottom in the preview. If you want it to look more like the screenshot, just crop it down. Another option would be to try an alternate camera app. I don't know of any in particular, though, sorry.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Yeah stock camera does that. Install an alternate camera app like Camera Awesome or Camera Zoom FX.
Sorry to necropost, but the new Google camera in the play store now has proper 4:3 ratio in the preview(among other neat features). I think you need KitKat though.

That is probably your version of my dual camera mode. Simultaneous picture taking using both cameras. Out places a picture of the taker on the picture taken.

No dual camera mode is under Mode(Modo)
Just looked at my camera, and the location where that option is, on my D850 is the grid option
Also OP - why is your camera setting W2M? lowest I get is 3M and my Wide(w is 10M)
that is when you are using the front facing camera to take a selfie. it selects whether the picture is a normal camera shot or flipped like a mirror image.
when the 13mp camera is active that icon place shows the grid.

Good thread.
So which one is the default / common / better option to use with mirroring or not? And which one means mirroring, opposite facing heads?
Not to hijack this, but what's the slide on the bottom do when in front facing camera mode?

The slider softens the image for more "beautiful" face on the selfies...
BTW this is the front facing camera, and not the main one...

I downloaded some third party camera apps so I could use pro mode and select the ISO and shutter speed. Unfortunately the max shutter speed is 8 seconds, why is that?
Is there any way to unlock longer shutter speeds? In my previous device I was able to set up to 32 seconds.
This issue is on astrocam, open camera and procam x. My device is also rooted.
I have pro cam X and was able to change it but I hadn't opened the app so had to give it the permissions

Yes I have given it all the permissions but the maximum shutter speed I can select is 8.3 seconds.
Could you post a screenshot of yours?

You're adjusting the wrong parameter, it's the "S" that is the problem. You have it at 0.5s try changing that to a higher value.
I did check the s I swiped it all the way to the far left and right

Also I really appreciate you trying to help me out.
