is it possible to take? if possible can any one help me how to take a foto with HTC one X... []

Can you explain what is a light tracing foto ?

He probably means a light painting image, where the shutter is open for a couple of seconds.
But yes, it is possible with the right app. I don't really use any camera app other than the HTC one but I bet Camera ZOOM FX should have an option like setting exposure time?

In order to achieve this the camera shutter has to stay open for a while. The stock Camera app cannot do this. Try Camera Zoom FX or Vignette from the play store. I've not used them before so I'm not sure if they have this feature.

I've been wondering about this since I saw it in the Samsung Galaxy Camera TV advert... :victory:

search for Camera FV-5, it the only app that i know can set our camera to bulb mode or slow down our shutter speed (I suppose you know the mode I'm talking about).
But still horrible to play light painting.. And need to remind you.. phone camera can't adjust shutter speed and normally people use bulb mode to play this trick. If you find any way for this.. please let me know.

I've been looking into this for a few days now and as you've said there are only a few ways to do this with an image.
If I find anything I'll let you know.

1. Smart focus area selection
Simply draw some lines inside a focus area and the background, then AfterFocus will automatically recognize the focus area. You can also select the area with traditional finger painting.
2. Background Blur effect
You can create the most realistic blur effect with various aperture styles just like DSLR camera.
To emphasize that certain things move, Motion blur effect is also available.
3. Filter effect
AfterFocus offers from basic effects to professional effects like Cross Process without looking artificial.
Also, you can emphasize the spot light on the background using Bokeh effect.
4. Double photo (Pro version only)
Take a picture of one object and move slightly to the right to take another picture of the same object, and it will analyze the images and recognize the nearest object, so there is no need to draw the focus area.
(Make sure that the background and the distance of the object are far enough and have clear texture to get a great result.)
5. Easy share
You can share through e-mails and SNS easily and simply.

These are typical settings for any camera that will accept manual settings.
White balance basically measures the color 'temperature' to get the most accurate colors possible.
ISO is light sensitivity. It can be altered from automatic for different lighting situations manually.
I believe metering is the location the camera will take a sample check for lighting level to give the best overall light balance for the WHOLE picture. For instance, center is default and if there were a lit light bulb in the center of the picture you are taking, it would correct the lighting of the entire photo just based on that area.
deff the type of answer i was looking for..so there is no optimal setting for those reasons, correct? is there a camera app that automatically attempts to set most options for best picture/results that anyone knows of our would recommend? thanks
ps. any thought from anyone on the auto contrast setting or any other important but not mentioned setting?

Typically, most of these settings are set to Auto to make it easy to take photos. Most amateur and pros will adjust the settings manually to get the best possible picture.
The settings can be changed manually to adjust for different environments.
I guess a good example would be a dimly lit room. You can take a picture with the flash and it may be an acceptable photo. However, if you know what settings to use (and it's a good quality camera), you do not need the flash and the quality of the photo will be completely different. This is also why you see professional photographers use several light stands to provide more indirect lighting because using a flash can wash out and cause unpleasant shadowing effects in photos.

Camera Zoom FX vs Stock Cam | 3rd party camera apps' picture quality bad, a myth?

So I looked into all the buzz about the Camera Zoom FX app and the app is quite nice. (For those who think its ****, it was, it looked ugly but a recent update revamped it.)
I played around with stock and camera zoom fx apps and compared pics. The quality seems to be the same and Camera Zoom FX also has hardware support.
I have attached test shots at the end but heres what I concluded.
Use the Stock cam if you wanna take pictures quickly and dont have time. It starts up instantly and the UI is simple.
Use Camera Zoom FX if you have time to mess with the photo after taking it. The app opens slowly. Takes like 3 secs to open. And shooting pics takes around 4 secs cause it zooms after you hit the shutter. Its instant in the stock app.
What do you guys think? What apps do you use. I personally have never used 3rd part cam apps other than stock apps. Camera is a huge deal and thats the only reason why I havent switched to CM10. (If anyone can post comparison via a CM10 rom it'd be nice. I know I can always flash the ROM to check it.)
______________
Those who use Camera Zoom FX for filters. Get Vignette, its wayyy better.
If you use any other app and think its better, list it below too!

I´m using stock camera.
I think its easier to compare these pictures with : http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/156694
I can´t see any difference between those 2 pics.
I use this app a lot, u have to say it produces the highest quality time lapse files of any app that iv tried and iv tried many! The burst feature works great, really like this app, worth the money for sure. I cant tell between the two above photos either.
I use camera360 for instant effects.

Need Help for Camera !!!

Hii
i am using gnex slimbean 4.3. now i am facing little problem with camera. it is not a big problem. but i need some help.
here is the screenshot on camera view. ( i always hide navigation bar, and status bar )

But while i tried to capture img,.. it ends like this
both are not the same. captured image resolution is 2592*1944.
but actual screen view area is 2508*1412
is there is anyway to add a particular resolution in camera...because recently i took more than 100 images. but when i saw those images again i cannot get the same view, as i saw in the screenshot.
sorry for my english...if anyone knows how to do this, pls guide me how to do this. thank you
That is how the camera works on most phones. The camera app is full screen, and the phone is 16:9 or 16:10 ratio usually. However. The camera takes shots that are more square, probably 4:3 ratio. Instead of having black columns on the side it cuts off the top and bottom in the preview. If you want it to look more like the screenshot, just crop it down. Another option would be to try an alternate camera app. I don't know of any in particular, though, sorry.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Yeah stock camera does that. Install an alternate camera app like Camera Awesome or Camera Zoom FX.
Sorry to necropost, but the new Google camera in the play store now has proper 4:3 ratio in the preview(among other neat features). I think you need KitKat though.

Photosphere on LG G3

Hey guys, I'm planning to order the LG G3 from AT&T today but wanted to first check if the photo sphere works. I hear there are issues with the focus (maybe something related to the laser focus). Could someone with an LG G3 install the google camera and give it a try reporting on the quality of the image?
THANK YOU!
Google camera works great. Here is a few pics. Focuses in very quick too. No settings for 4k recording tho. Sorry for the boring pics lol, i would say image quility is just as good from a stock google camera app

So how do you view a photosphere on the G3?

Google camera and Google Photos apps are all you need (Photos comes with G+ app, not as a standalone app) I have taken some photosphere pics both in and outdoors without issues, worked well and the results were quite impressive on each. Again, stock gallery app doesn't support this feature.
