Hey
I had this issue before and I dont remember how i fixed it. Does anybody have an Idea.
I for example connect to my home wifi, and leave the house to go to school and at school it tries to connect which just says failed to connect to network, and if i go back home it just shows the wifi networks at my school instead of the the one at home. it just kinda freezes with the last viewed wifi networks. In order to connect to a network i need to reboot each time.
pretty annoying.
I think last time i installed a sdfix for kk and then i think it worked, because the wifi for school is stored in my school app, which needs to rw permission on my internal/sd.
i found this thread but im not sure what it does so i didnt want to flash it.

ps. its been rooted with the 1 click root and its on stock 4.4.4 (14.4.A.0.108)

I mainly use 3g to browse the internet with opera, but if i connect to my wireless network and open opera it continues to use 3g. Is their any way i can make it use wireless? I thought it should automatically but it doesn't.
Thanks for any help.
be connected just to wifi
Is that the only way? I use push email that uses 3g and would sooner not disconnect that when i want to use opera over wifi.
I've just checked Internet explorer and that's fine using wifi, but opera still refuses to use it and sticks with 3g. Does anyone elses Touch HD do this?
I'll have a look at mine in a minute, but need to ask a daft question, how can i tell which data source the HD is using for its internet information at any one time?

You can go onto google and search for 'whats my ip' and use one of them sites to see if its your ip address or one used by your operator. Thanks very much.
Sorry, that took a bit longer than a minute.
Opera is using wifi here. However, when I first boot up my phone in my house (i.e. in wifi range) data connection is turned off and wifi is turned on by default. However, even if i switch on the data connection and fire up opera, it still uses wifi rather that 02 mobileweb.
I may talk a wlk down the street later and i'll see if the data connection will come on at bootup if a wifi isn't available
Have you tried going to settings->connections tab->connections->advanced tab->select networks and changing the default connection to "My Isp" or "My work network".
This may help although I have had very similar problems with opera using 3g instead of wifi. I reported the problem HTC and after an absolute age they wrote back saying "That shouldn't happen" without any real advice on what to do next. Since then I have always turned 3g off when turning wifi on. I used to use push email but of course turning off 3g buggers that up so I have settled for syncing every 15 minutes and as a side benefit that seems to have improved battery life.

I've tried what you have suggested and opera did use the wifi, however when i turn wifi off it won't use 3g until i go back into those settings and set it to do so.
I've noticed that if i turn my phone on and don't use the 3g connection opera will use wifi fine, but once i turn wifi off or go out of range and use 3g then return to wifi opera refuses to use it and sticks with 3g. I just don't understand why it's fine using wifi so long as it hasn't used 3g.
So I am having some wifi problems. Like most I have 5 or 6 wifis that I connect to on my phone. My issue is that I will need to use my data and my phone's wifi is stuck on trying to connect to a wifi network that is no longer available. I can't turn wifi off or anything. My only fix is to restart the phone. Any clues?

Yes. I believe I'm experiencing the same thing.
Here's my situation, I have the Rogers LGOG (Not rooted) and the reception @ work is extremely poor. So I turn on wifi to connect. I'm able to connect to my corporate wifi, but when I leave to go between floors and I'm out of my wifi range and return, I'm not able to connect. WI-FI is ON and it keeps searching for hotspots, but I'm not able to connect and the only way for it to work again is to reboot. Now, this does not happen consistently, but it has happened a few times to where I'm wondering is this a problem with the OS or is it the phone.
Any thoughts on this to point me to the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
Same problem with F180K, but there an OTA update arrived yesterday saying "Wifi bug fix".
Cant tell if they really fixed it, cause im waiting for my flight, so cant test it right now.

I have a att Lg optimus G E970, I think I have the same issue, only solution is restart
Im having issues on my htc one x, thing is it shows available wifi networks at some distance but it is unable to connect to any (it keeps scanning till for some reason wifi network dissapears until i turn wifi off and on again), only way to get a connection is standing right next or front to my router (>1 mt.) where it works just fine and get good network speed, but if for some reason cant get a connection thru walls or when something blocks direct view, i already tried soldering antenna conector trick posted but it didnt work, also installing a custom recovery and tried several custom roms but i get the same result. Any ideas?. thanks
So I've had my phone ripped for a long time, I tethered through setting apn to ,dun
Today I saw I could download tether wifi router and open my nat type so I could play ps4 and connect with friends so like the idiot I am I downloaded an apk and I'm pretty sure it was a virus so I uninstalled and ran avg and nothing is wrong but my hotspot is not working it gets stuck turning on and then shuts off no notification of it being on though I've been googling for literally hours and had to make a post.
It's a Sprint lg g3 on the first version of lollipop. Another note is I had my phone shut off and turned back on today although that happened a few times and changed nothing but the ,dun setting
This is my last try to fix it so please help
Anyone? Getting to the point of chucking my phone at the wall and calling for a new oneit's my only source of Wi-Fi in my house

I had exactly the same issue and found out that my main router was at fault. If you have a spare wifi router laying around try set it up as access point and connect to that instead. Or go to a public wifi place or a friends house and see if its the same.
For me it only happens if I use our main wifi router at home even know my pc and other devices have no issues. Very weird but I can almost guarantee that your phone is fine if its the same issue :fingers-crossed:
My phone worked fine the first month with my main wifi router but then it started happening out of nowhere. I unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom rom and same thing was still happening. Then I found an old wifi router that I plugged into the main router as access point and now I haven't had any disconnects for almost a whole month.
