[Q] LG G3 3GB Ram not true???? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i have a 32gb LG G3, and i'm wondering they say it is built with 3gb of RAM. but
i tried checking my phone it says 1.8gb total RAM and at the moment i got 645 available RAM.... i also tried downloading Android System Info on my phone just to get the info. and it says the same.....
they said it is built with 3gb ram?? anyone got any ideas? can you enlighten me please
i appreciate if you guys could help me

make sure in the box that you have a 32GB if that's correct then my question is:
have you flashed any rom?

Where are you looking?

Sounds like its a 2gb version.

In the Apps running part mine says used 1.9GB and free 0.9GB. Are you sure that isn't the 1.8 isn't the used amount?

The box may say 32gb, but what does the phone say?

If you're seeing something like this then you have 3GB

Take a screenshot, upload it here http://tinypic.com/
post the link so we can see what you're looking at.

It's had a 16gb kdz installed on it. If you check the system storage you'll probably find that you only have about 10gb user available storage as well.

When it says it has 3GB, you will not see it showing 3GB. When it says you have 32GB, you will not get 32GB. Its not how it works.

FYI, my T-mobile G3 doesn't show memory under Hardware information.
Another fun fact, while I was under Hardware information I see "Uptime" is currently 157hours even though I reset my phone last night.

Interesting, but the model number will not be able to tell which model / memory it has?
As for uptime, maybe it only resets when you completely shut down? Don't know for sure because I have not tested this theory yet.

is it sim-unlocked?
Hi
Could you tell me if the phone is able to show the 576MB of memory? It should be in the 'About Phone' menu options. The last I remember is that this was a kernel fix and most of the custom ROM's now have a fix for it.

Damn that AMOLED screen looks amazing
Will be the first time I see/own a AMOLED screen. Somewhere in April I will be getting the Desire.. enjoying my HD2 until I sell it.
Just received mine from T-Mobile today as well, though noticed that there is no voice search built in...any suggestions on how to add this? Looking for a suitable apk atm (if any rom chefs have it to hand it would be much appreciated!)
Ok mate, many thanks for your help with this. I had a nexus one which didn't initially show full memory, but now there is a patch which lets the OS see it all and use it. I am expecting that that fix is already in the kernel.
Thanks, enjoy your phone; I will, on monday..
Hi guys,
I just registered but been reading these boars for a little while.
I was wondering if someone who just got the phone could tell me the exact size of the screen (in cm or mm if possible).
I ordered screen protectors from Germany, got them today but they look too small for the phone. Since I don't have mine yet (not until April 5th), I need to confirm or infirm that they sent me the wrong size.
Thanks guys!

I can tell you the answer to this - because i bought the same screen protectors .
Yes they are to small.. Completely useless purchase.
Also, can't seem to find a way to kill Sense...wanted to check out vanilla Android 2.1 but if I remove the defaults from HTC Sense and kill the app it just restarts...
Hey guys could you tell me which ebay user you bought the protectors from? I have ordered some too and my desire is coming on monday...
I bought from protectionfilms24, if they're too small I'll have to complain!
Thanks

Thats the one bud - rip off.. I cba chasing a refund for the sake of £2.50, as it'll mean sending them back.
Yup, they're the same ones I got as well, same Ebay seller.
Bummer, now I wonder where to find good ones. Maybe the official ones on play.com?

shucks. what a rip off!! I think I'll go to play.com to order the official ones then. On another note, is everyone who's unlocking pretty much stuck on doing it through t-mobile then?
I emailed the seller, they said they're gonna check if they didn't send me the wrong size. They replied only a couple of hours after I emailed them so I guess they're pretty trustworthy, at least on this.
Just fyi, the protectors I have are 52*31 mm in size.

Pointless thread, but how come you're only getting around 10407? I'm getting 10700 to 11100.
11937 ran once. Using franco's kernel #5.
Enough of this " is pointless thread/post" crap people love to post everytime any benchmark is mentioned. Those posts are actually pointless. If you are not interested stay away. Its not harming anyone.
Here are couple. Will post Antutu later . Antutu is very temperature sensitive. My phone is charging currently, so running hotter.
Both on Insert coin rom with Franco kernel.

No need to get snarky. You yourself said that nobody cared and I was simply agreeing with your opinion. If nobody cares *about* (note - not *of*) my post then logic dictates the same about your original post. You can can't have it both ways. Anyway, this post (and yours) are both just as irrelevant to the real world.

Thanks for helping

Stock Rom 1.28, Three branded.

how can you determine the manufacturing date of an LG G4?

also is there upgradable firmware in this phone? (not referring to the ROMs we are flashing, I mean the firmware for the phone's hardware itself, nothing to do with Android)
There is an App which is called LG phone info. You should see the manufacturing date with it
First 3 digits of serial number are year/month in ymm format. 507: 5 = 2015, 07 = July.
Are people checking because of the rumors faulty motherboard?

no, and why would it matter, your G4's rewritable internal memory can handle 1000's of flashes throughout its lifetime!
Well, mines is having crazy sections of bootloops for no apparent reason. When it happens it can't enter Recovery. It bootloops even from download mode. When I manage to successfully flash a Kdz, bootloops still come back again after some time. And guess the manufacturing date
check the date in http://imeidata.net/check?imei=<your imei> and go to warranty (or directly http://imeidata.net/warranty/lg?imei=<your imei> )

It was on May. Now it is totally useless stuck in bootloops. Maybe it is the most common manufacturing date and the buggy devices might represent a low %, but not all made on that batch.

???
I have had two g4 that were purchased at same time fail right at the 12 mos
They were both 508 date code
Luckly they both replaced under warranty
When they failed they would get stuck at boot screen "lg life is good" sometimes going through endless restarts or just shutting off where you need to pull battery to get it to try again
Data was recovered by freezing. I put in a zip lock bag in freezer for half hour. It would then boot normally. Needed to keep cold entire time, once it heats up it will stop. So use a bucket of ice or run your usb cable out of your freezer while downloading. Tried using a hair dryer to heat, but that method only worked once for a few minutes.
This is a manufacturing defect, some kind of bad solder joint or similar issue.
From my research, appears to happen more often in summer months, like you leave phone in hot car and a weak solder joint gives out. Heating and cooling works to temporarily cause the electrical connection to work through thermal expansion or contraction.

So is this saying your phone is safe and battery will go green?
Or is it saying it will change colour to green if it is safe?

first one, therefore i'm almost sure my phone will be safe (and go green tomorrow)!
it would be interessting if any german user got a message saying their battery will go to 60% tomorrow...

i already thought about that, but why then make 2 different messages??
before i saw the OP message i thought that could be, but now i'm almost sure the messages are based on what IMEI you have, and samsung knows what production charges are affected...

Could be as you say, i think you put too much faith in them. They just try to cover their behind the best they can.
I provided them with the IMEI when the program started, via a webform because they initially said they will post the replacement and collect the [potential] bomb upon delivery. My issue with them is that now they expect the mobile provider to exchange it. Vodafone said i'll have to give it back and wait until a replacement becomes available (i.e. they don't care).

mine has been replaced but I got the same green battery message in the UK just now. but my phone was manufactured the back end of August, so I would assume some later devices are probably fine anyway.

Haha, just wait till the modders will get their hands on it. Nobody will know which one has been replaced.

it's probably deep coded in the firmware leading to it needing a root to do since it is also on the power options screen, so all I would assume is rooted devices would be treat as unrepaired.

Storage saving issue

Is it normal that always when I restart my phone, camera storage gets back to internal saving, and I put removable before restart.

Try the card in another device, test in the same way.
Test another card in your HTC 10, test in the same way.. Has the app which you're using to save docs!/ files been granted permission? Check within apps / (application in question / permissions.

Try this walk through, looks like it may be along the same lines http://www.knowreviewtip.com/fix-er...sion-for-all-apps-in-android-lollipop-kitkat/
Mine works fine; however, I remember some kludgy permissions issue with external storage with any app, not just the camera. I had to grant it through a file explorer app or something; I don't remember exactly. Android seems to be sacrificing usability for security more and more.
IIRC, the htc 10 is UHS-I, not III. (should work but if you paid more for the III...)

Not docs. I said that camera app is switching sometimes I noticed now not always like I said before, because I restart phone few times and it was on removable, but sometimes it switch for no reason after restart to internal.
Maybe it's like dude up said that android seems to be sacrificing usability for security more and more.

Not sure fella, but I've seen the saving to certain locations on external memories problem pop up a few times, it's ok once granted access. I'll reboot my phone now. See if it alters back to internal, silly thing to happen to be honest.. Why would anyone want internal? Card slot available, most people would want to use it, unless there was a problem writing large files or high res content. Ie 4k, but I've not had an issue.
Yea mine doesn't have this issue, weird.
