[Q] screen and digitizer cracked how do i get my pics out? :( - LG Optimus G (International)

Hey ppl.
Yesterday my screen and digitizer cracked because of my stupidity (had to throw it so it didn't get wet in a little fight for fun). Googled all day long just can't find an answer.. How can I get my pics out? Didn't sync and there's a lot of memories in there... I'm not going to pay for repair... Already ordered a Sony xperia z1 compact. Any ideas?

no one?

Try On screen phone
If you enabled LG's On Screen Phone feature (only on stock), then you can connect to PC and play with it.

[Q] URGENT HELP!!! My Screen isnt activating

Help ME!!!! Ive recently had my screen being unresponsive when i press the power/home button. its been about 2 days now and im struggling to get it to work at all now.. Is there anything is can do?!
The phone switches on and sometimes i get the screen to come on and as soon as i lock it i cant get it to come on.
I'm thinking its a dodgy connection to the battery. Its nothing to do with my rom etc. as i managed to restore back to Saturday before it started being faulty and its still the same...
Any knowledge is much muchly appreciated
Hey, I'm new to xda!
I'm having the same problem, my Xperia Play R800i will work for awhile after plugging it into the mains then when the screen goes into standby it won't turn back on!
I've tried a multitude of firmware and also tried relocking my bootloader.
Any suggestions?
Your flex cables have broken, these are the thin ribbon connections which connect from the motherboard to the screen itself. The Xplay has two flex cable. Best option is to send it warranty (2 years warranty) or you can buy a flex cable repair kit for the Xperia Play which will cost you around 30-40 bucks. There is an" Xperia Play Disassembly" guide on YouTube which should help you on the way.
Thanks for your reply!
I have had a look at the video and reseached a few replacements.
Would it be better to repair the ribbon connection with a kit or purchase another LCD screen?
The display does work sometimes and is fully functional when it's on. (I can reply to texts, make calls etc.)
OK, first of all you must consider if the phone has warranty as this is the free option you can go for. Are you in a country where there is a Sony Repair Centre? If you do not think you have the chance to acess a Sony Repair Centre then you only need the flex cable, the LCD digitizer seems fine to me, I think you have the same problem I had. You will need to buy something which comes with the tools to open up your phone.
Something similar to this.....

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, no LCD display

Hi, I have an Xperia Z1 Compact, I dropped it, smashed the screen and ordered a replacement screen, fitted it and I can hear it booting up and all the associated sounds so I know it's on but there's no display, I thought it was a faulty screen so sent it back ad received another one but it's still the same, I know it works as I've tested it on another Cmpact and it's fine so clearly a problem with the hardware of the phone, does anyone have any ideas what it might be?
Thanks

Hello @seaspray99,
Are you 100% sure that you've connected it properly and that you've not damaged the flex cable or the contacts on the mainboard?
Keelah se'lai,
GethPrime
Definitely connected ok tried even holding it down while connected.

Hello @seaspray99,
Did you replace just the glas or the entire display assembly?
The entire display, but it stopped working after it was dropped, I thought the LCD had been damaged but it's definitely not that.

Could be anything if the screen works when tested, might have damaged the board in the fall.
i have the same problem, Old LCD was partially broken, replaced it, not working with new one. Used a new flatcable, still not working, No Led or Startup screen. Only vibrates 1 or 3 times with power button

[Q] Hairline on the display and NOTHING works anymore? I cannot even backup! HELP!!!

Hello guys,
I hope somebody can help, I am totally shocked, disgusted and angry, and about to swear that I will never EVER buy ANYTHING even remotely related to Sony again.
I have never heard of anybody experiencing anything similar with ANY other phone.
I have put my phone in the pocket together with something else and I have got some hairlines now on the display (I had a tempered glass protection but it did not really work so well apparently).
Nothing too bas, I would not care, but, I cannot use the phone anymore because the display just does not work at all!
I have seen phones of my friends, with EXTREME "spiderweb app", display COMPLETELY destroyed, and they still being able to use it.
I cannot even enter the pin!!!
And this means, I cannot even backup!
All my numbers where on the phone memory, not on the sim (because on the sim I have less characters and I cannot put two numbers on a same contact, and for this last reason I have always procrastinated the export from telephone to sim because I had to take care individually of all those cases where I have more than one number in a contact).
What am i supposed to do???
If I cannot even do a backup to save the contacts or somehow transfer them on the sim, I cannot even send my phone to repair while using the sim on another phone.
And this just now that I have exams and I am searching for a new job and new house and I need to call and be called, ****!
Is there a way to unblock the sim? I mean, not illegally, with my pin, but, externally.
I can connect the phone to the PC, this works, and I could open PC Companion, but I cannot backup because the phone is blocked by the pin!
How can I enter the pin remotely???
What can I do???
Thanks :crying:
First sorry for your unpleasantness, you can try to connect your phone over usb otg with a mouse. :screwy:
Sent from my D5503 using xda premium
I have no usb mouse.
I have a bt mouse but unfortunately the bt on the phone is not active. Is there a way I can activate it remotely, with some kind of developement app or things like that?
Anyway, I have solved the big part of the problem: I was able to backup by simply removing the sim. I had actually though of putting the sim on another phone to change the option of a needed pin. But on the other phone I have there is no way to change that option.
But taking away the sim worked.
So, I could backup all what is more important.
Now, I read a lot (and see lot of offering of used z1 or z3 compact with cracked screen which does not work at all), and it seems that it is just typical of xperia that even a simple hairline on the display completely stop it from working.
I mean, the display itself is perfect, no black liquid, all is perfect. Only the glass is damaged.
So, I absolutely need a waterproof phone.
But I live in EU, so here things like the kyocera brigadier or sonim xp7 are not available.
Considering that I would also like to upgrade to something more dust proof because I am a gardener, I was trying to chose between a z3 compact (ip 68) and a s4 active (ip67) or s5 mini.
The question is, do always xperia stop working with just a damage on the glas, even if the display is ok?
And what with Samsung?
Total Drama! I need very urgent help!
Ok, Edit.
Luckily my neighbour had a RF Mouse and luckily I had an adapter from normal USB to micro USB and luckily this worked.
I would activate the BT, and use my BT mouse, and open apps etc (I had very important things in a Calander App which could not be retrieved with a PC Companion Backup).
So, the phone works, only the display cannot be used with touch.
I will NEVER EVER buy anything branded Sony.
It may be a karma of my family but ALL what we had Sony was always ****.
And this is really a SHAME, a high end phone which does not work anymore after one hairline on the glass!!!
No, thanks.
Samsung looks bad but, it can be rooted better, it can be used with cracked display...
Bye bye Sony, never more.
it is not quite so. Motorola moto x had these problems and your beloved Samsung has loads of such problems. BTW do you play games with your phone?
Motorola is nobody anymore.
But thanks for the info
About Samsung, I work in construction places. All my colleagues have Samsung and iPhone and HTC.
All of them with cracked to severely cracked display.
They all can use the phone.
One particularly has a totally black display with little visible spots. He manages to still use it.
There are just two people with an Xperia z1 compact. Me and a colleague.
We both had to throw a 300$ in the trash fire a little line on the glass.
So. I consider this a clear sign that Sony sucks with display.
Anyway,no,no games, why?

My Xperia play screen always won't turn on...

I bought one just for fun to play it and test it out. Now obviously I didn't spend like $300 on a new one since it won't be my main phone so I got a "refurbished" one. Some marks on it I can live with no problem but I have one problem besides that maybe someone can help me with before I send it back. I turn the screen off and I can turn it back on again SOMETIMES but if I turn it off again it won't turn back on and I gotta take the battery out. The phone is on but the screen just won't turn on? Just to see what I am talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzYFCidtYsg
so should I send it back? YEs I have done it without the charger in
Intermittently Screen does not on or get distorted.

The flex ribbon cable for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play has partially broken. Advised to always slide down/close the slider gently.
