Anyone know if the wooden carved cases lift tempered glass screen protectors? I have a Nikilin one on my N5 and want to make sure they don't before I spring for the case

Depends on the lip of the carved wooden case. But I would venture yes if the lip is thick like the Spigen Ultra Hybrid cases or some thicker tpu cases. Well, it also depends on which tempered glass you have or will buy. I think some tempered glass have case optimized versions that do not cover the entire screen and leaves space for the likes of cases.
I bought an $8 tempered glass protector on ebay and use it with a carved case. I didn't even center it perfectly and there's still enough room for the case to breathe. I cant speak for other glass protectors (such as the Nillkin) though.
Also, the carved cases are thin enough to use with wireless chargers.

Here's a photo of mine. No pictures of it on the the phone but it's a very snug fit. Glass protector fits great. I used to be all about otterboxes. Then, when I got my N4, all I used was the bumper (cause I loved the back) and no screen guard. I traded it in with not a scratch on it, so this time I was a little more confident. The Carved case still leaves the face pretty open, but for the price of an 8 dollar glass protector, I think it's worth the style haha
How exactly do they get held on? Is it basically just a wooden panel in a plastic case? Any more pics?

The only other camera I had on hand was my tablet so apologies for the quality. It's basically a plastic case with a soft touch coating (similar to the N5 back) and the wood panel on back. The top and bottom are left mostly open (my reason for grabbing the glass protector) and there are large easy-access openings for the buttons as well.

SGP Ultra Silke is the best Silicon type case. Great texture, shock protection, and durability.
I bought the rubber jacket for my Vibrant from t-mobile. It's definately NOT the same material that most of there skins are made from. It's textured and does not get stuck in your pocket and get covered with lint like the smooth gel skin that is their norm.
I've dropped my phone (with no screen protector) a few times on various surfaces and the skin does it's job.
It's the same as this one, but in black (the blue shows off the texture):

Where are you buying those from? I have tried a few different types but am just not happy with them, either badly made or just plain don't care for them. Thanks!

i bought a tpu case from ebay and its by far the best case i had. it keeps the phone nice and slim while holding the phone tight in place. the material is a little tougher than the silicone and imo feels better. as for screen protector i've gone from zagg invisible shield to cheap ones online to the ones at the retail stores and none of them are as good as realook. realook is so easy to put on and is basically air bubble proof(for me at least). it has a glass feel as if u hadnt put one on unlike the invisible shield, after awhile the invisible shield gets super rubbery and feels like crap. thats my 2¢
I have a case that I bought from daydeal.com, its a hybrid case made from hard plastic on the back and soft tpu on the sides, it pretty good.

thx for this info! found some awesome cases with what ive learned!
I bought this case for my N5. It is absolutely wonderful. Feels great in the hand and is very thin.
A few cons:
Buttons are difficult to press, must do it with fingernails.
Does not play nice with tempered glass screen protection. (Need to put it on just right)

I purchased another case, this one from china, even thinner and has great functional button and works perfectly with tempered glass screen protectors. Only $5. Unfortunately, it takes 1-2 weeks to receive it.

You just said two things that ruins this case. Looks good tho.
Im looking for tpu case that is only ~0.5mm thick with good buttons or open cutouts for them. And it has to work with tempered glass protectors. Now Im using diztronic but Id like to have ultra thin tpu case. I guess there is no case like that.

To remedy the buttons feeling hard you could cut the case on the two long sides of the case where the power buttons go. I have done this with a bunch of my favorite cases and I get the clicky feeling back!
Nice finds i check ebay often for cases and haven't seen either of these yet...
I see you mention that it's good with the tempered glass protector, i ask how do you know or do have one in hand that you've tried?
Really want to get a blue and white one... if it fits my glass protector...
Pics would be nice!

Sorry for the late response. I do have a thicker than usual tempered glass screen protector and it works perfectly with it.
Uploaded pics to original post. I don't have another camera to take pics of the cases on the phone itself.
Got the same case in blue. The buttons are horrible. They just run flat with the case and can't even press on them.

I am curious, which case did you get? the all black or the one with the white rim ? I actually like the buttons inside the case just a tad to prevent accidental pressings.

the buttons are flush and can't even hit the power button without pressing very hard. Then again I have a skin on my phone that wraps around the whole phone.
I got the 2nd case in 1st post with the white outer rim. Mine doesnt fit the phone correctly, the case is tad too small to in the front. The case slips on/off too easily, its slippery, very hard to press the buttons, no button feedback.
I've had many TPU cases, the material doesnt feel soft. Its rather hard and very little grip. Who knows, there maybe many mfgs of this design and I just got a crappy one.
Still enjoying my quicksand snap on case, but would like more protection on top and down where its currently exposed.

Alluminium seems not to protect enough IMHO...
p.s. I have already the original crystal case from 1+1 store but it's too slippery ( I'm thinking to use on it the sandpaper to make it less sleppery, what's your opinion? )
Thank you all
I recently got the Diztronic Ultra TPU case (cannot post links yet, but googling it will take you to their site right away), would you consider that a bumper case? Seems like it offers decent protection and the looks and build quality is pretty solid as well.
Seems good but I cant understand if it has the back or not.. I prefer not to have it because I like the matte back of my OPO
Those kind of bumpers don't exist for the OPO unfortunately. Evolutive Labs failed to kickstart one, and then there's the aluminum one...
I've looked all over.
Diztronic cases have a backing.

why doesn't someone get a normal tpu case and use a hot copper wire to cut out the back? it'll basically be a bumper and it'll look pretty decent
People, don't go and buy cases and think that cutting out the back would make a bumper case, it does not. The case looses all rigidity and the middle section is all floppy. I did this on a galaxy nexus and lg g3 case, neither time did it work. A bumper case is engineered differently to be rigid all around. Don't waste money thinking cutting a case would work.
Just my 2 cents.

The two parts are made from two different parts so they can be taken apart if enough force is applied. We would not advise this as the polycarbonate back is there to protect the back of your handset.
The G3 case I used was basically the same, hard back and tpu bumper, was the same, floppy once removed. It really makes no sense destroying a perfectly good case.
bump...
any bumper yet?
Hey! I use TPU diztronic case ( the one with bumpers on corners )
It protected my device when it feel on corners .
Makes your phone a bit heavy and shabby too.
Back doesn't feel like the sandstone , but we have to compromise for protection.
it is unbelievable that the oneplus one has no accessories at all!
the diztronic case is very expansive.. as there are no alternatives.
Diztronic here too.
I've had this Diztronic on my OPO for 2 years now, has protected several corner falls on concrete..

Nagbee Natural Wood Case
I have the wooden one, and in my opinion, it is too thick. Not only does it not give you enough protection on the front, but the screen protector included is trash. The black border on the tempered glass gets rid of some areas of the screen. The "wood" is not even wood, I partially punctured the wood with my nail lol. I do not recommend this case, also, if you want photos, I can provide some.

Glad you tested it first. I came a second from pulling the trigger on this. I love the case I got. The feel is brilliant and it protects the back/sides/corners, but finding a good screen protector is a ***** atm. They all have that black ring or nothing but bubbles.
All, here are the pics of my 3 cases. I can't test on phone until it comes in tomorrow.
So far the leather is my favorite followed by the black 2 piece and last is the wood/cloth.

Well after using the leather case on the phone all day I can't say that I'm impressed with the overall mold of the case. I do like the leather design and if the wood was flatter I would dig that one too but I think there are too many flaws with the case mold.
So first off the headphone jack cutout is too small for almost all of my headphone cables. I will have to drill out the hole to use the headphone jack to it's full potential. Next off the case doesn't provide much coverage protruding past the screen. I prefer to have a bit of wiggle room in this dept. Next the edge or lip of the case that rests against your ear when talking on the phone is too sharp, even for plastic. Just catching my fingers on the lip feels sharp. Finally the back of the case is super deep, like Otter Box Defender Series deep. I'll bet that nothing will ever touch the camera lenses due to this depth but it does add a ton of bulkiness to the phone.
On the positive side the buttons feel great, all the cutouts appear to be perfect, and I do love the leather/cork or wood/cloth designs. I think more phone case manufacturers need to adopt these styles of cases.
If you'all have any questions for me let me know.
Cheers
