I'm trying to set up a VPN and the standard Android VPN requires a password for the credential storage. Any idea what it might be?
Go to Settings -> Device Administrators -> Uncheck any device administrator that you might have checked. That's it.

Hi, guys !
I have a problem with my HTC Touch Pro2 when connecting to wireless networks.
When I select the wireless network in Connection Manager it asks me for the password, I click NEXT then it says that the password is wrong.
I found that if I connect to the network by going to Advanced - Change Network and manually select the encryption of the network the phone connects ok !
I think is a problem with the phone not auto-detecting the encryption because on the second page of "Change Network" the default settings in the drop-down boxes are "Open" and "WEP".
Any ideas ?
so why not manually change the encryption settings
Because, by default, it automatically detects the wireless encryption method.
And, for example, if I am in a pub and the wifi is encrypted, I can ask for the password but (for sure) they will not know the encryption method !
Anyway, I found the solution !
In HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WZCSVC\Parameters there was a DWORD key DisableWPA with the value 1.
I set it to 0 (zero) and now it's back as it was !
Sir, I am new here, so I don't know where to post. My question is that can I view my wifi password in any file of my computer. I have connected my computer to wifi few times but accidentally I have forgotten my wifi password. So can you tell me how to review this password in my computer?

WRONG FORUM SECTION! You are offering neither development nor a hack. This belongs in General.
It's not in any "file" per se - it's stored, encrypted, in the registry - but recovery is possible. On Win7 it was even very easy; they changed it in Win8 but I think it's still pretty easy.
Note: working from memory here, as I'm on my WiFi-less desktop.
* Open the WiFi list (you can do this from the Settings charm or by clicking the WiFi button on the taskbar).
* Right-click the network you want to view the password for (you can do this with touch by pressing-and-holding for about a second).
* Choose "Properties" (or whatever has "Properties" in the option).
* If it doesn't open to the Security tab, go to the Security tab.
* Check the "Show characters" button under the password field. May require Admin access.
Alternatively, you can just go to your router's configuration page (usually http://<YOUR_GATEWAY_HERE>/, so for example http://192.168.0.1/) and look it up in there... assuming you haven't forgotten your router password too!
To add to that, if you havent changed the password (which you should), its usually written on the router itself somewhere.
I cannot enable remote wipe via Android Device Manager. When I try, I get to the screen where I am prompted to activate Android Device Manager as a phone administrator. When I press activate I am returned to the Android Device Manager screen with the box remaining unchecked.
The problem is that the phone will not allow ADM to gain administrative rights. If I go to security settings, phone administrators, I see ADM in there unchecked. But I cannot check it.
I am using the fingerprint scanner for security. I am wondering whether there is a glitch that if you use fingerprint security it will not allow ADM to enable itself as a phone administrator. Doesn't make sense.
I want to be able to remote wipe the phone but cannot enable the feature.
Ideas?
This has been resolved with a factory reset (in case anyone else runs into it)
When I want to set up a screen lock, 3 options are unavailable (Swipe, None, and Knock code) due to an unknown reason.
It says: "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"
I'm quite worried because I've tried literally everything and I still have this issue (I have an LG G4 H815, running stock android 5.1 L. Hope you can help)
Settings -> Security -> Clear credentials
I try to follow the instructions for adding custom certificates, but apparently Samsung / Tab S4 / Pie implement it differently.
Settings > Biometrics and security > Other security settings
There is an item "Install from device storage" but when I click it, I get a screen where I cannot do anything...
Anyone knows how to add a custom cert?
It's easier than I thought (that's why I couldn't find it )...
Just point the file browser to the cert file and open it.
