Hello guys,
I just share something I found and I hope it will help some people.
My SD card was incredibly slow, and apps using it just kept lagging, and sometimes crashing (Spotify, camera, gallery, perfect viewer, etc.). The whole phone was feeling laggy and freezing.
The problem was : my card was previously used in my Note 2 LTE with CM and Omni ROM and i changed the filesystem (and completely forgot about it). The G3 didn't prompt an error and the SD just worked, slowly but worked.
Just format the card from the G3 and everything should go back to normal
Not the tip of the year, but might be useful for some people.

cheap card=slow speed
To actually see what your card's read/write speeds are and it's actual size, along with any bad sectors or so, you should use H2testw (it's free) with the card on a PC.
That's what I use to check and verify any cards that I purchase are legit and as advertised, even from big box stores, just in case.

Your screenshot is VERY impressive!
What kind of SD card and what file system do you use?
Am on Android 5.0 V20i and my EXT4 formatted Sandisk isn't recognised.
Funny enough though TWRP doesn't have any issues at the same time

Recorded some videos last night. Some suddenly stopped recording and dumped me out to the home screen. Reduced the resolution and tried again. A few went OK, but I was still dumped out a few times. I was NOT using the MMS setting.
Is this a known problem? Simple search didn't turn up anything.
How long did you get before being dumped? Were you recording to internal sd card or external? I have been having zero issues with mine up to 5 minutes at 1080p to extSD. Only limit you should have would be amount of available space. Far as I understand it anyways.

I was recording to the external card. Seems like I got about 2 or 3 minutes in before getting dumped. Some other videos recorded fine, even at 1080p.

Maybe you hit the 4GB file size limit for FAT32?
Slow SD card, maybe? Buffer fills up, card's write speed can't keep up, so video is dumped. My only thought. Maybe try a different card or record to internal and see if it changes anything.

I might check the card (it's really hard to get my Sedio case off). I thought it was Class 10; can't recall.
Class 10 shouldn't have read/write problem
My temporary 2GB sd card is only class 2. No issues.

Are 128GB lexar cards supported?
They have up to x1000 which is 150mb/sec.
The internal memory on my t989 is incredibly sluggish, there isn't a whole lot of storage being used. Only a few gigs. Tried to transfer a 200mb file onto the internal memory and it took 10 some odd minutes. :/
Could anyone provide me with some insight on speeding it up or should I just try and RMA the phone? Would I benefit from completely reformatting my t989?

internal memory is Class 10
it's pretty fast IMO
you just need to clean up some junks and not keep installing as much Apps/Games to the SD card
the more Apps you have, the slower it takes

Try a different card first. See if it's the card or the phone. RMA the culprit.
Would I be correct in assuming you have a Sandisk Card?

I'm using a 64gb in my e980. Has to be formatted to fat32 however so it can be used in twrp or cwm.

not sure if i tried this one !
thanks !!
That's simular to what I used to format mine. I never had the 32gb issue so it could be a windows format thing. I used cmd to format mine to fat32 using a script I found. I have it on my laptop at home but I'm not sure if the instructions were in the zip. I'll post it later when I get home from work.

What 64GB cards are everyone using? I just picked up a Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 card and it won't work with my e980. Just curious if anyone else has used this or a similar card. Could it be my phone? I even used LG Flashtools to return to stock with no luck...
Using the same exact card. You need to plug it into your computer and format it to fat32. Natively, windows doesn't support fat32 on anything above 32gb but there are programs out there that do it.
This works perfectly.

M8 keeps unmounting my SD card (64GB Class 10) and now it doesn't even recognize until reboot. Keeps giving me errors about installing apps and doesn't work in recovery or for anything really because it keeps in mounting when it does work. Any suggestions on fix? Formatted the card on the phone btw

That is wired . Just formatted mine to double check. Formatted my sd to FAT32 using my PC. and all is fine.
Which Windows are you using. Windows 7 is abled to format to FAT32, while Windows 8 isn't and would format to extFAT instead. But Android can not mount extFAT.

Could try this, yes. But if One works and the other doesn't I'd guess that it's an issue with the card.
Do you have some friend who has another 64GB card from some other manufacturer to check if it is a problem with the scandisc cards and Android?
