Stock 4.0.4
Recorded some videos last night. Some suddenly stopped recording and dumped me out to the home screen. Reduced the resolution and tried again. A few went OK, but I was still dumped out a few times. I was NOT using the MMS setting.
Is this a known problem? Simple search didn't turn up anything.
How long did you get before being dumped? Were you recording to internal sd card or external? I have been having zero issues with mine up to 5 minutes at 1080p to extSD. Only limit you should have would be amount of available space. Far as I understand it anyways.

I was recording to the external card. Seems like I got about 2 or 3 minutes in before getting dumped. Some other videos recorded fine, even at 1080p.

Maybe you hit the 4GB file size limit for FAT32?
Slow SD card, maybe? Buffer fills up, card's write speed can't keep up, so video is dumped. My only thought. Maybe try a different card or record to internal and see if it changes anything.

I might check the card (it's really hard to get my Sedio case off). I thought it was Class 10; can't recall.
Class 10 shouldn't have read/write problem
My temporary 2GB sd card is only class 2. No issues.

Are 128GB lexar cards supported?
They have up to x1000 which is 150mb/sec.

Seems like with mine, a lot of my videos are getting cut short. I see the red blinking. Do I need to adjust a setting so it uses the internal SD or what.. This is actually aggravating.
You don't have it set to Limit for MMS do you? That'll do it.

Looks like storage is set to phone. Is this correct? It wont let me change it to anything else. Would like to have it set to internal SD

Im having a problem with my phone, specifically with media scanning. It never completes im going to post a logcat of my phone to see if anyone can figure out why.
Is anyone going to answer?
How much storage does your device have free?
The media scan says it's completed. The only errors I see are I/O errors (cannot create folders).
It looks like you are out of storage, or your storage media has corrupted sectors.
Also, this is a global forum, people are on different schedules than you might be. You should allow more than 30 mins, before you start bumping the thread for answers.

I had the same issue from a bad flash. I reflashed and it stoped.

Well for the internal sd i have 5.39 GB free while the external is a 16 GB class 4 samsung sd. with 8.97 GB free. Its not the card i scanned it with windows and linux mint and the sectors are fine. It works whenever i put in another sdcard thats empty. as well as the one where the card is full of music.

What was the issue in your bad flash that you found out?
No issue, just a bad flash. I redownloaded, reflashed and it stopped.

That indicates it's an issue with your SD card, or a file on it. Try copying the contents to your computer, format the card, and restore your data.
Try it again. If, still not working, format the card and add folders individually to isolate.

Thats exactly what i did. I think either its a directory issue or something within one of the cards.
Alright heres what i found out. (this whole issues made me learnn a lot more about my phones subsystems) It turns out because i had installed a deodexed version of the ICS gallery from CM9 and it was fighting for resources from the built in one from the samsung gallery.
The internal memory on my t989 is incredibly sluggish, there isn't a whole lot of storage being used. Only a few gigs. Tried to transfer a 200mb file onto the internal memory and it took 10 some odd minutes. :/
Could anyone provide me with some insight on speeding it up or should I just try and RMA the phone? Would I benefit from completely reformatting my t989?

What ROM are you on?? Sounds like your read cache is set to 128kb.

internal memory is Class 10
it's pretty fast IMO
you just need to clean up some junks and not keep installing as much Apps/Games to the SD card
the more Apps you have, the slower it takes

Does anyone know why my sd card might be corrupting the files in my note 2. Its corrupting music video and photos. Its getting extremely annoying. I formatted to exfat and fat32 the phone is about to go out the window

Try a different card first. See if it's the card or the phone. RMA the culprit.
Would I be correct in assuming you have a Sandisk Card?

I have an 8gb and 16gb and they work fine. I was thinking that the phone might not support the card but idk.

Is there a way to save shots from Best Shot / Burst Shot onto the external SD card? I find it annoying having to transfer the photos from internal to external...
Thanks in advance.
I'm also looking for something like this
That is because generally the memory cards are less. So you can't write it so quickly to them.
A normal user can't determine whether his card is good enough or not. So samsung decided to leave it out.

I'm not asking why this is happening. I'm asking if there's a way around it.
Use Directory bind
Then bind DCIM folder. Then you need not to select ext sd card for single shot too. Whatever you will capture, it will save to ext sd, though camera understand it is in internal memory.
