M8 keeps unmounting my SD card (64GB Class 10) and now it doesn't even recognize until reboot. Keeps giving me errors about installing apps and doesn't work in recovery or for anything really because it keeps in mounting when it does work. Any suggestions on fix? Formatted the card on the phone btw

There are some issues with formatting the sd on the phone. Try formatting it to FAT32 on PC and give a feedback if it helped.
Hit "Thanks" if I was of any help.

That is wired . Just formatted mine to double check. Formatted my sd to FAT32 using my PC. and all is fine.
Which Windows are you using. Windows 7 is abled to format to FAT32, while Windows 8 isn't and would format to extFAT instead. But Android can not mount extFAT.

Using Windows 7, have HP's format tool to format to Fat32. Took my 32GB card out of my Shield and it has no issues, while the 64GB works just fine in the Shield.. It's weird and kind of frustrating

Yeah not hard to believe that. Sorry that it didn't help. But if I fully understand what your writing one of the cards is working and the other not, right!?

The 64GB works just fine, just not in the M8. The 32GB works in everything. Glad I haven't gotten the 128GB card if 64GB won't even work

Could try this, yes. But if One works and the other doesn't I'd guess that it's an issue with the card.
Do you have some friend who has another 64GB card from some other manufacturer to check if it is a problem with the scandisc cards and Android?

So i bought a 16 gb class 4 SD card for my galaxy s3. My old 4 gb SD card that I replaced worked great with no fail. This new card however, sometime unmount and remount. Sometime it lets me write to it other time I can only read what I already have on there from it. This is a problem because when I set the sd card as all my media defaults sometime message comes up saying it failed to write to sd card so it changed back to phone memory.....
Anyone know if this is a bad card or if there is anyway I can set things up to make the card work. Thanks ! I have 15 days to replace it.
edit- I tried to look for other related sd issue, but it seems to only be talking about rooted phones. I dont have root and this is my first android so I'm not comfortable going the rooting route just yet.
Have you reformatted the card?

Which do you recommend. Exfat/ fat32 or Ntfs??
I've also had this issue but my fone is rooted. I've had to reformat it at least once a week. I will go to save music or a picture to it and it will say the ext sd card isn't accessible and when I go check it with root explorer instead of folder titled music It will be £usic or something crazy. Then the card will start switching to r/o instead of r/w.
Edit: it meaning the external sd card.

I would go with exfat. And try to format it from the phone not the computer.
If you still have problems try fat32.

Try a different card first. See if it's the card or the phone. RMA the culprit.
Would I be correct in assuming you have a Sandisk Card?

That's simular to what I used to format mine. I never had the 32gb issue so it could be a windows format thing. I used cmd to format mine to fat32 using a script I found. I have it on my laptop at home but I'm not sure if the instructions were in the zip. I'll post it later when I get home from work.

What 64GB cards are everyone using? I just picked up a Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 card and it won't work with my e980. Just curious if anyone else has used this or a similar card. Could it be my phone? I even used LG Flashtools to return to stock with no luck...
Using the same exact card. You need to plug it into your computer and format it to fat32. Natively, windows doesn't support fat32 on anything above 32gb but there are programs out there that do it.
This works perfectly.

Well finally got the card to read in both the PC and phone. However the phone now says it's not fast enough to be used for the internal storage. Guess I need to find the right quality as card to use.
