Just snagged a used G2 - LG Optimus G Pro

I bricked my OGP and after too many hours failing to flash stock on it I sent it to get the $50 MobileTechVideos.com treatment (they provide great service). In the meantime I bought a G2 on fleabay with broken glass for $115, also got a $60 LCD assembly. The G2 is a really easy phone to work on so screen replacement is quick and painless.
I have been using the G2 for a few days and couldn't help sharing battery life. My OGP had set a new standard for battery life but I could never get much over 3hrs screen on and still have 24hrs of use. Below is what the G2 can do in a stockish state (plenty of xposed tweaking on stock kk).

OK another useless thread ... Mod please close

Before you close the thread, my two cents:
I had a G2 for a couple of weeks but couldn't afford to keep it. My opinion: It rocks! I mean, the battery life on that thing is just out of this world sick!
I'm just left wondering what the secret is to that technology? How did they do it?
Not only that, but the screen is so bright in the sunlight as well! And its a good feel in the hands. I wish my OGP were as bright in the sun. But I gotta say, my OGP is a bit brighter than the Note2 I just sold for $118.

Just read tyhe anandtech G2 review..there is a big section on battery life, with details on how a combo of the snapdragon 800 and power saving during static display leads to such good battery life on the g2

[DISCUSSION] Anyone come from the Vibrant to the G2?

I have the Vibrant and starting to see if I can force t-mo to swap it for the G2. So has anyone switched from the Vibrant to the G2? Which one do you like better. I have read that there are some members who are disappointed with the G2 screen saying it has a yellow tint.
So I would like to hear the early adopters feedback G2 or stay with the Vibrant and why.
Thanks!
XDA app via Samsung Vibrant
I don't notice the yellow tint, and it is on par with my Vibrant IMHO. I don't use the Virbant though... I put it back in the box after a few hous because I don't like TouchWiz.
I think you read about a member that mentioned yellow tint.
I haven't heard of it outside of one comment. My screen most surely doesn't.
the vibrant's screen is definitely superior to G2 screen, and I do miss the 16GB internal SD space. other than that, I am giving my vibrant to my nephew and not looking back
The screen is fine on the G2 I have both the Vibrant and the G2, I couldn't make Tmobile do a complete swap, but I was able to get a full discount on the G2.
In my opinion the Vibrant is a great Media Device. Otherwise I think the G2 is better. The Vibrant is not as functional as the G2 as far as the phone/gps/etc is concerned but does have a better media capabilities.
It is wonderful to open google maps, or any app that uses GPS and have almost instant location, and it is accurate! That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
BTW if you have done two warranty exchanges on your Vibrant, then you can make Tmobile swap it out for any "Comparable" phone, including the G2 if you are still not happy with it.

Definitely, but there's nothing wrong with the G2 screen. Hopefully after the 18-month exclusivity is up, HTC will have some nice S-AMOLED devices.
I am the 1 who complained of yellow tent on the screen after playing with it for a few hours I have adjusted however I still don't like the screen compared to an o l e d. What the deal breakers for me are the keyboard up with the placement of the delete key and the return key, The floppy hinge, and the internal memory not being there. overall someone to make a case that keeps the phone opening I would probably keep it but I mac os 10 500 bucks on it
I have a Vibrant with Bionix 1.4 rom and OC on it, I am getting the G2 today. I will play with both and decide which phone I want to keep. I think G2 will have better support but I think Vibrant has better hardware with 16gb of internal storage, 4 inch samoled screen, not to mention the FFC that will shortly be installed, its going to take a lot to make me keep the G2 over the Vibrant, I do like the fact it has an indicator and its metal
I had two vibrants - one lasted 15 days, the 2nd 45 days - (tmo extended my remorse period over the gps issue). I had rooted and installed one of the lag fixes - and i thought that vibrant was fast, until i got this G2
i don't want to say the G2 blazes past the vibrant in blinding speed fashion, but it is definitely quicker and smooth as silk in all functions
i haven't noticed any tint to the screen - i don't think the screen or display is as brilliant (colorwise) but it's definitely nice
size on the G2, dropping to 3.7" display, i was worried i'd miss that display size. Nope - the size is perfect, both visually and size is perfect in my hand (i'm 6' w/large hands).
only "fault" i have with the G2 vs the vibrant - the speakerphone is definitely not as loud, and when set to max volume, the sound breaks up - i suspect it's because the speaker is right behind that metal backing cover - and it's reflecting that sound - when i put my finger on the metal cover there, the sound improves, and same if i remove the back cover. But that's a minor minor "issue", nothing i'm worried about.
oh, the GPS - IS FLAWLESS - even shows me moving around in my house, and is always oriented correctly to the direction i'm facing. Granted my house is 88' long, but it shows me moving around inside my house, from one end to the other.
i did have some concerns i'd miss the vibrant, i liked it that much. But that's not the case.
now i'm just looking forward to someone rooting this phone, so i can ditch some of the bloatware.
I am going from the Vibrant to the G2, but I don't get my G2 until Monday. I was in love with the Vibrants screen, but the battery life was just horrendous for how I need to use a phone. I took it back within my remorse period and ordered the G2 Thursday. I really liked the Vibrant, but I think the G2 will be a better phone for me especially with the physical keyboard. I had an iPhone and never had problems with the screen keyboard, but with the Vibrant I would miskey all the time...
battery life on the G2 has been pretty impressive compared to the vibrant
- where on the vibrant i had screen timeout in 1 minute, kept GPS and wireless, data sync, background data, etc turned off, and would put it in "airplane" mode when i went to sleep, after taking it off the charger at midnight, using the phone for normal conversation useage (approx 1.5-2 hours per day) by 6:00PM i'd be down to less than 20% charge
with the G2, and this is only after 3 days so battery has not had a chance to fully condition, with same useage, but in this case screen timeout is 10 minutes AND I'M USING THAT LIVE WALLPAPER "THUNDERSTORM" WITH THE LIGHTNING STRIKES, and leaving GPS on and not fooling with airplane mode while i sleep, i'm seeing 35+% charge at the end of the day
i have not missed the vibrant

How did you manage to get them to do that? I called TMO in an effort to try and get them to perform the same thing and was met with resistance. I have a vibrant and used my upgrade from my G1 to get it.
I turned on my G1 today to flash 2.2 and install ip Webcam for a wireless outdoor cam, but haven't put it down since. I miss my G1 and while I love the screen and upgrades in terms of memory, etc... I don't think I'll be using it again and want that G2 for the keyboard and size. I like my vibrant for media, but as an everyday driver this G1 or something like it is more my style.
So I beg you... how do I get them to do a full discount?

what??????
So I recently lost my Vibrant and am now looking into either getting another Vibrant or a G2. If someone could help us out, how does the G2 compare to the Vibrant in terms of overall performance and what are potential dealmakers or dealbreakers?
For me, my concerns about the G2 are:
800 mHz processor versus 1 gHz processor of the Vibrant. Does it make a huge difference? Keep in mind that the Vibrant is only running 2.1 right now but when it gets 2.2 will the G2 be able to keep up?
The G2 3.7" screen versus the Vibrant's 4" SAMOLED screen. Personally I loved the Vibrant's screen, it's gorgeous.
4 GB internal memory versus 16 GB internal memory. Yeah I know I can always get a bigger SDcard but its still nice to have larger internal memory.
How is the physical keyboard? I read someone on here had some complaints.
The keyboard and HSPA is not a big issue for me.
I don't like to rush into bad decisions and when I got the Vibrant, I believe it was the best phone out right then, so any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated.
I bought my Vibrant 21 days ago. I took it back today and picked up a G2. I am very happy with the decision. The Vibrant screen is incredible, and the 16gb internal was nice.
But I have a 16gb msd card, and dont use the device for video media. I did a quadrant on the Vibrant this morning and it scored 842. I did a quadrant on the G2 this evening and it scored 1420.
I dont know how reliable quadrant is, but it confirmed my suspicion that the G2 was performing better even with a slower processor.
im not coming from the vibrant, but i am coming from a Galaxy phone, The Epic Fail
I came from a Vibrant to the G2 and without going into details, I like the G2 WAY more than the Vibrant. Its sooooo much faster than the Vibrant. I don't miss super amoled at all, that shouldn't be the main selling point for a phone.
I'm gonna wait to see what Samsung says in this upcoming week about the forthcoming update to the Vibrant. If its only a GPS fix and froyo isn't coming for a while, i'm gonna try and get a G2.
It looks like T Mobile is also getting the HTC HD3 running windows phone 7. However, lack of multitasking and a small amount of apps make it hard to switch from android. That leaves the myTouch HD as the only other solid option coming out.
However, its gonna be hard to give up the Vibrants 4' SAMOLED and beast of a GPU.
So what is the advice to making this change (vibrant to the g2) or even purchasing the G2 at the discount rate.

My advice, get the Nexus One. It may be a little slower, and not as good for gaming, but it is pure Android with minimal pre-installed apps.
Also, it seems that the preinstalled apps on the vibrant (esp. gmail) cannot be upgraded from the market, meaning you rely on OTA to get new gmail features!

Is the G4 a huge step up from G2?

I know the resolution is way higher, but at 1080 on the G2 I don't think I'd appreciate the increase. I don't use very intensive apps, so the extra power there isn't too needed. How about the camera? Is it a big big step up? I wouldn't use Raw at all for Photoshop or anything, but i appreciate the ability to take fast good looking photos. What draws me to the G4 is wireless charging and probability of more development and larger assortment of aftermarket accessories. I doubt the G2 will see much more from the custom scene. The only con of the G4 is it's so damn big. The G2 was the perfect size for me when I had one. It was easily usable one handed. I haven't used the G4 extensively, but hands on at TMo made it feel really really really big. I already broke my X '14 doing hand gymnastics with my phone. Thanks
I still have a G2 and it is still an excellent phone. With the latest lollipop update the G2 runs smooth. Battery life is better on the G2, but the G4 gets a free extra battery which equals out that playing field.
The G4 is noticeably faster in all areas, but not by game changing amounts. Camera is the biggest upgrade by far. No real comparison there.
I don't see a "need" to upgrade from the G2. Just the desire to try the newest gadgets has me upgrading every few months.

Pros
Faster
Screen image quality
Louder and clearer loudspeaker
Front and rear camera
Expandable storage
Leather back
Cons
Battery life, easily get an extra 12 hours with my daily use
Wireless Storage disappeared
Edges of the phone feel cheap, specially the rough ports on the bottom.
Overall it was an upgrade that is good, but not great. A phone with this much power and screen size would match well with a 5000mAh or greater battery.
I would have stayed with my G2 if I hadn't broken the screen.
G2 was one of the best phones ever created
But seriously, other 1 or 2 annoyances (speaker) G2 was a beast of a phone
I had the G2 and had to root it to really like it. I've had the G4 for a few days and for the first time I won't be rooting. The phone is great as is. My only complaint is the wireless charging but it looks like that can be solved for 8 dollars.

I don't know about you, but my G2's screen kept overheating, and every time it overheats, my knock on does not work and the screen becomes unresponsive. This is just with the screen being on, and not gaming - mostly just reading forums and watching youtube. One of the big things is that the 808 processor isn't supposed to get hot, so even if it runs "slower" than the Galaxy, it's much smoother on a day to day basis for real usage. No hot screen = no screen issues, I hope.
Dual window is very nice. You can watch youtube while browsing forums for max trollin when you're bored. Plugging in the earphones and having it automatically launch into a music app (or whatever app you choose) is also nice. 1440P vs 1080P resolution - which I wasn't really sure of the difference until I watched some videos on youtube that explains the difference.. wow, just wow.
The replaceable battery, which I did not care for before, comes in extremely handy. It's like having instant-charge from 0% to 100%. No more sitting around running for wall chargers. However, if you do come to that point, you have QC 2.0 which charges just slightly quicker than the G2's QC 1.0. People often think QC 2.0 is supposed to be fast as hell, and in comparison to standard charging - yes. QC 1.0 wasn't THAT bad, but QC 2.0 is definitely an improvement.
The camera itself is like no other. The G2's camera was good, but the G4.. wow, just wow. I've taken so many more pictures in the past week with the G4 than I have ever with the G2. The night pics that comes out of the G4 makes me wonder if it really came from a phone camera.
I, too, was afraid of the phone size when I heard it's a 5.5" that's bigger than the G3. That was one of the main reasons why I never even considered the G3 - because of its size. When I saw videos that the phone curves for better aerodynamics/handling/ergo, I felt like the size wouldn't matter as much. It's true that it barely fits into my pants, but the 5.5" screen is AWESOME when it comes to pictures/picture editing on the fly/videos, etc etc.
With the free SD card and the extra battery, the $600 price tag didn't seem as steep.
Hope this helps you decide.

Any points you'd like to give to validate that answer? I've looked at your other posts and 75% of them are bashing the G4. Not sure if I trust your opinion. Seems like a lot of negativity with no positive points even though news sources rate the G4 neck in neck with the S6. Your posts are all one sided "G4 suckz, S6 wins all the phones..."

If you read all my posts you should have read that the g4 feels way too cheap for a 2015 flagship device that costs $500+. The ui has no improvements, the screen is nice, battery life is good too but on the other hand, the g2 has a really nice screen as well and also great battery life. I prefer the built quality of the g2. Cannot stand those bezels of the g4. Also the phone doesn't feel any snappier, although in paper it is supposed to be a beast. The phone has potential, but it needs root and devs to work on it. By the time that happens, 6 months will have passed. Also if you have already made up your mind, no point creating a thread.

It 'feels cheap'? We are comparing the G2 to G4 still?
It isn't much faster than the G2? Do you actually have a G4?

Sister has the g2. I have the g4 and s6 now. maybe faster is not the exact term, but I mean snappier. The g2 feels snappier. Don't ask me why, but it does. Get one yourself and see what I am talking about. And yes the g4 feels cheaper than the g2. The g2 has slimmer bezels, some metal on the side, while the g4 is pure plastic on the sides.

I don't know guys. I've spent hours in the T-mobile store playing with the G4 and I fear it's just too damn big I've lost two phone now due to drops from hand gymnastics and it would be fiscally irresponsible to risk another. I am more than likely going to purchase an S6 today. Or maybe a G2 and wait for the Nexus 5 2015 based on the G4 aaarrrghhhhhhh. Damn phone decisions...

Recently upgraded from G2 to G4. I'm one of the few that doesn't rely on streaming websites for music so my phone was almost always maxxed out due to my music. I upgraded because this had an expandable sd card slot. Now for the rest:
It is noticeably bigger and takes a bit of time to get used too, especially the keyboard due to its location and how the phone is balanced. I do like the curved screen, it feels... a bit more natural. The phones a bit harder to navigate one handed, but the G2 wasn't super easy either. The camera is noticeably better, and hopefully will get even better once xdabbeb comes around to the G4 if he/she does. I ran xdabbeb's rom on my g2. My G2 was a bit snappier but this was due to running a custom rom. I feel like the G4 will beat the G2 in this once it gets rooted and custom roms come out. I feel like alot of the sluggish behaviors are due to the carrier's bloatware and other stuff. Build quality is nice imo, better than the G2 but that's usually just personal preference.
tl;dr -- it was a worthy upgrade for me, due to camera and expandable sd card slot. minor hinderances are the size and lack of root and custom rom support but this can be learned, and dealt with over time.
Hope this helps.
G2 i still better...unfortunately for me . I bought the G4 (replaced my G3 that replaced my G2). When i bought the G3 i wanted to sell it the next day and buy a G2 again but i learned to live with it. Now i have the same thoughts for the G4. It's a Downward Spiral for LG. They made one great phone the G2.

Anyone else come from the Samsung Galaxy S6 to an LG G4

So I came from an s4 to a g3 as samsung was really bugging me then when I saw an s6 on eBay at 300 notes I thought why not. I must say I am very impressed overall. If you look at my history you will see I like trying as many new phones as possible because in my opinion a phone is something you use the most in your life and I like to know I own the best one don't judge me.
Curiosity got the better of me (yes I know what happened to the cat) and I got a black leather LG g3 on eBay for a good price.
Now having both phones right now and watching youtube phone reviews all the time ... pocket now, mkbhd, AA, EG and johnnnnnnn v from phone arena (annoying git) etc I expected that these phones would be similar in terms of competition but to me the LG G4 is just an ugly bigger g3 and still feels cheap even with leather and when I pick the s6 up it feels a lot more premium.
I really don't like samsung at all but have been forced to accept that the s6 is really good.
I maybe missing something in the g4 and really love the screen size but now the note 5 is out that feature is no longer a 1 up.
I would really love to hear everyone's opinion if they have owned both phones or swapped and the reasons.
Thanks
I haven't owned either phone but I've spent some time with both the S6+G3 in the past week (less tech savvy coworkers got them, had to show them the ins and outs)... I'm biased, but I'd take my G4 any day over those 2 (although, with that said, I didn't spend a whole lot of time with the G3 but from what I seen/experienced, it's pretty close to the G4. At this point, 2 full months of having it, I'm still glad I went with it.

Thanks. Recognise you from another thread back in the day of my s2 I think. Maybe. Or HTC one or another phone !
I Taking both today to a theme park to test the cameras. G4 is a little slower to focus and snap and in HDR photos it really lags behind THE s6.
I had both s6 edge and g4 red leather
Decided to stick with G4 better battery better manual mode on camera. Feels better in hand and im not so worried about it being all glass

I agree with the premium feel. Coming from a M7 I gotten many compliments for its metal body and classy look.
I just slapt a good looking case on it and called it a day. Since it lives in a case I don't have to think about the back being plastic
I had both the G4 and S6 Edge 128GB at the same time for about 6 weeks.
In the end I sold the G4, despite its amazing camera capabilities as the S6 Edge is orders of magnitude better in materials and style.
2 months later... I sold the Edge and have bought a G4.
I am a camera enthusiast and the use of 3rd party apps to enable RAW and poor interfaces compared made me come back. The G4 camera and its pro mode is just brilliant.

Thanks for all the great comments guys. I went to thorpe park and then chessington with my 4 year old (merlin passes) and used the s6 for both photos and videos. Really great results especially audio clarity on video and I think the s6 has better stability in ois (what do you guys think) . My son was playing angry birds whilst queuing and he dropped my s6 with the spigen air cusion case on and I thought it had broke !!! But I got lucky. I do think the g4 feels like it would not break at all at a child's drop. Pics attached from s6.
Tomorrow lego land !! With the g4.
I've owned every Verizon phone except the N5 and S6 Edge + (soon enough). The G4 fits my needs with a removable battery, as card slot, nice screen, great camera, and root. I only wish the bootloader was unlocked. I hate everything about Samsung since they took away the removable battery and sd card slot (and unlockable bootloader - N2).
I also have a unlocked M9 that I'll switch back to once CM is more polished. I liked the development on the G3 and M8 better than these current versions but I have to have the latest and greatest, lol.
Out of left field, the new Motorola Moto X Style Pure Edition will be the phone to beat in a month or so. And with a price tag of $400 off contract, XDA will have a field day with it. I'll be pre-ordering the day it becomes available.

The pink spot in the centre of low light photos was really annoying me !! No excuse for that. Reminds me of my old HTC one. Annoying.

Is this considered a good smartphone vs. the Samsung S4 ?

i have just baught a used LS980 from ebay because the screen size looked exactly what i wanted and the processing power seamed strong enough for my use.
the price of this item has droped soo much the last few months that now i am starting to have second thoughts maybe this particular LG is not made durable.
anyone can share experiance with this device ?
is there any real differance between the variants D800,D802, VS980 and LS980 (exept from the korean f320)?
regards
I got an LG G2 from Freedompop for $70. It was a used device but in good condition. In addition, Freedompop offers free service from Sprint network. I am very pleased about this purchase.
Here's a comparison of Galaxy S4 vs LG G2.
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g2_vs_samsung_galaxy_s4-review-984.php
I also got mine from Freedompop for $70 with $15 cashback. The G2 is an excellent phone and I really like its minimal bezels. One big drawback of an S4 is AMOLED is prone to burn-in and a used device might already have noticeable burn-in. The blue subpixels also wear out much faster so over time, it might have some noticeable color degradation. The G2 being IPS LCD, the screen should look perfect for as long as you have it.
Just my opinion here..
S4 has a better screen that's easier on battery life;
G2 has a better processor and a bigger battery.
I prefer the side rockers of the S4, but I have a G2 and overall think it's a better phone.

Is this worth buying?

Hey.
I'm a little late to the party but I have just seen this phone and it looks cool. I have a P9 Lite at the moment and I am not keen on EMUI. I love the look of the mint colour Robin. How is the screen on this thing as I hate washed out IPS screens.
Also important to me is how is development for this phone?
Thanks.

Hey.
I'm a little late to the party but I have just seen this phone and it looks cool. I have a P9 Lite at the moment and I am not keen on EMUI. I love the look of the mint colour Robin. How is the screen on this thing as I hate washed out IPS screens.

The screen is on par with most LCDs these days, good viewing angles and color saturation. Development is on the rise. At this moment there are a hand full of roms to flash. You should get this phone if you can, as it's still great in 2017.
I've just purchased one from Amazon can't not at £149 new for the spec better than some Umi rubbish in same price range
Looks like its got good rom/development support as well

Its a great phone, and definitley worth the money, but considering your current device it's not much of an upgrade.
Hey guys,
I'm considering the purchase of this cool-looking phone as well and I want to ask about the battery life - is it really that terrible that you have to charge your phone more than once a day (as written in some reviews)? And what about the camera - is it really that bad or it's just a normal mobile average?
I am using nexus4 right now and Robin probably won't be my daily driver, I just want it because of the look but obviously I don't want to waste my money on some ****ty device.
Thanks

I can get through a day without charging with ease. That said. I've never been on stock, I personally didn't like it. Many users complained about performance and battery life on the Stock OS. The camera is pretty 'meh'. Taking pictures can be VERY slow (Use Google Camera or something, Open Camera and the stock camera is supposedly slow) and low light performance is pretty bad. During the day though I can get pretty nice shots, nothing to complain about, it's good just not 'great'.
All this said though, I've mostly been on OmniROM and LOS/LOS based roms as they seem pretty on par in both areas (LOS and LOS based roms have a few kinks to sort out at the moment though). If you're planning on sticking with the Stock ROM and have issues, I 100% recommend OmniROM, it's had a long while to get rid of all the bugs and it's got killer performance and with moderate usage (Including some light gaming) I get around 4.5 hours SOT on a single charge on Omni.
I hope this helps
If I leave the house with a 100% charge. I can get through the entire day...but when I'm out...I'm not constantly on my phone. I'm a pretty casual user and I've been pretty happy with the device in the 7 months I've been using the phone. The durability of the phone is the only real questionable thing. The plastic feels pretty thin and the edges are pointy. I can't imagine dropping the phone on its edge onto concrete. I've seen lots of people complain of the phone getting bent from being in your pocket. If you're the type of person that is rough with your stuff...it may not be the best choice....or use a heavy duty case like the Tudia.
Nextbit will also be stopping any kind of warranty in July of 2017. So if you buy your phone now...and something goes wrong...you don't have a warranty after July.
I think at its current price level this phone makes a great backup phone, or if you want to have something for a few months and move on to something better.
The good: it has a rather up to date OS, you get a good processor (808) for around $120, it's light weight and sleek, easy to root and develop on, sleek look, smooth performance with virtually no bloat, supports band 12 (important for t mobile).
The bad: no warranty after July 2017, the online storage space may disappear in 2018 (which was their whole selling point for the phone on the beginning), mediocre camera, very fragile design ( the phone is made entirely of plastic and there is no metal frame inside so forget about putting it in your pocket), no charger in the box, can feel warm at times if you are not careful about background processes and using an ad blocker, mediocre battery life (5 hours on screen surfing).
Great phone. The online storage was dumb and you wont miss it. If you really needed more then 32 gigs would you be looking at this phone at all?
The camera is just ok. Its better then the last phone I had which was a nexus 5.
The phone is good quality. The plastic takes a beating. I put it in my pocket, and run it case free and have for months. Barley a knick on it. Been dropped from waist high on wood floors and tile.
Battery - I stream google music all day at work . If I don't charge I can go about 8 hours with Bluetooth headphones connected. If I use it as a phone for googling here and there I get like a day+ on it. Reading books and wut not, 12 hours.
I run stock, with a personalized launcher, rooted, running substratum for blacking out all the menus and Nougat quick settings to use immersive mode. Runs like a champ, super fast. The warranty thingie sucks, but;at 117 bux, this phone is a steal.
I dare anyone to find a brand new phone with at least an 808 and 32 gigs of storage, with 3g memory for cheaper and better support.
I'll wait right here. :silly:
Hello Community!
I consider buying the Nextbit Robin for my 13yo son, who killed his S5 Neo (broken Display). I´m afraid he would be forced to stick with stock and no root because of....well.....pokemon go.... so I hope battery life is not THAT bad as complained in some threads.
BUT: The fact that he killed his last phone because he dropped it and the "bending issue" I read in this thread I am pretty unsure about it. My son puts his mobile into his pocket.

Pokemon GO works fine with custom ROMs and root as long as you use magisk
I got one and I love it , it has an amazing camera, great battery life (at least on Resurrection Remix), and is nice because the bootloader is easily unlockable. The only issue I have experienced is the speakers can be a bit distorted at max volume.
