heres the link:

it's a 1.99 and needs a rooted phone. Im curious about his profiles too before I kick down $1.99.

I've used it in the past on my Nexus 4 and Nexus 5.
For profiles, I'd typically have it decrease the clock speed by one increment at 75%, 50%, 25%, 15%, and 5%. I haven't tried on my G3 yet, though. Maybe I'll give it a go.

Does he work for or develop it.lol that was so vague.

This app has not been updated in a year on play store. All the new phones coming out have not been supported. I bought the app way back in day. Now time to change. Fauxclock is supporting new phones. I hear system tuner also has been updating. Good luck guys.

It works perfectly though. You just need to be rooted, and research a bit on profiles and stuff. Next thing you know, your squeezing that battery out for power.

I usually set some for screen off and at certain battery percentages. It all depends how you use your phone. Some for when plugged in the charger.

Juice defender? Does it work
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It's been downloaded/installed 1,000,000 - 5,000,000 times and it has a 4/5 star rating with 15,838 ratings -- so that's probably a "Yes".
It's free... give it a whirl.
I used to be all "ZOMG I NEED TEH ROMZ N KERNULS WIT TEH BESTEST BATTERY LIEF" but then I realized that I sit on my ass at a desk/computer all day at work, and I'm at home more often than not, so I don't really pay attention to my battery life anymore; I'm rarely not able to charge my phone somehow.
EDIT: A co-worker of mine swears by JuiceDefender. Personally, I just don't see the point.
Yes, it works WONDERS. Also, hit up my sig for a bunch of other things you can do to help your battery life (but I can't stress enough how good Juice Defender is )
It works, but I don't think it works properly on Gingerbread yet.
Juice defender doesn't work to ME, I'd say try the free version before you buy ultimate juice for 5 bucks. I actually think it hurts my battery and I've done many test while at work from 8am-5pm to prove it. I've ran these test on 2.2 and 2.3; it doesn't have 2.3 support yet so it just pisses your phone off.
Thanks guys ill give it a try

Agreed. I've been running version 3.4.4 beta (which is currently only available in the private beta) and it's been working great on gingerbread-evo-deck. None of the publicly available releases work on gingerbread yet, though.
The only problem I've had with the gingerbread ROMs I've tried is that they don't have an option to disable always on mobile data. This drained my battery life whenever I spent an extended amount of time in a place that didn't have good reception (like everyday at work), since it was continuously trying to connect to 3g. Juice Defender solved that problem and now I get great battery life regardless of where I go.

what's a good app to manually kill apps? I'm not talking about something like atk but something that you could use to kill 3rd party apps that continue to run in the background. Or am I just asking for something that does not exist?

[Q][discussion]Cool software features of GS3 ported to our Nexi

A couple of things that I would like to see on custom ROMS
SVoice. First of all I really don't care about SVoice. But I find pretty cool that when alarm rings you can just say "snooze" instead of wondering in the dark where is your phone.
Eye tracking to keep screen on
Direct call
Auto tagging of photos
Is this possible for the ROM developers? I mean the hardware is there, right?

There are a few random threads about some of these features. Basically if what I read in them are correct we will need a port of the new TouchWiz. And it hasn't been released yet so its not available to port.
Eye tracking is going to be such a battery drain, LOL.
Running a big screen and FFC together throughout the day is going to be a killer.

I was afraid for something like that...I don't like AOSPless interfaces but I am open to the new TouchWiz. If I find a ported ROM, I will definitely try it. I guess we have to wait a month+ to see something though.

ROM Comparison Chart (+Bounty)

It would be great if someone took all the current i747 roms out there - there are so many - and made a chart that made comparing features really easy and also showed a few stats, like comscore and maybe something related to battery life.
This could be maintained as new versions came out, etc.
I would like to get a bounty up to get this under way. I'll chip in $25. Anyone else feeling generous?
Personally, I try out every rom as they get updated or released. I'd be willing to do this, and wouldn't even ask for donations. Although I certainly wouldn't deny them ;p
I'll put in 5 for the hell of it

What would be a good way to assess battery? Fully charge, then run everything for 20 minutes and see what PCT the battery is at?

I was thinking more along the lines of a 24 hour run time assessment. It'd be slower but give it more of a real life usage feel ya know
What features should I be comparing exactly? If battery is the only slot I can't complete today, what should make up the other "slots"

I say you have a "24" hour hard usage by running a specific game for example NOVA 3 or any other games thats pretty intense on both single player and multiplayer
Then have an average "business person" style where you only browse webs, email, messaging, social networking, news etc
Then have a "norm" style where you do a bit of both.
This is going to take a while tho lol
EDIT: I would like to help with the comparison for just the fun of it but we gotta make sure we're on the same kernels don't you think and also have more than one person test out each rom and then average the results out for each rom
Adding features that work and do not work would be great as well.

Comscore. Does camera work? Does BT work? Does tethering work?
re: battery. I think the 24 hour test might be inconsistent if you are using the phone to do different things. I'd think a brief sample would work just fine - 20 minutes of watching video with GPS, Wifi, and BT on. But I am not a battery expert.
Every battery test between even "identical" phones will be nigh on useless due to the possible flaws in the manufacture process for the phone and battery.
I would also suggest you ignore any benchmarking scores as they are as close to useless in real life usage as anything you can do on the phone.

New to GS3 need help!!!

I'm a script developer in the android hacking general section of xda. I've got a few super noob question (s).

2.) Are there any extended life batteries from Sprint or Samsung?
3.) Is there a root method for MB1?

That's correct. I don't know of any extended batteries that still have nfc capabilities, and that's the number 1 reason a lot of people don't go for the extended battery route.

1- Battery life is good on the S3 but sometimes settings and apps need to be tweaked. Many threads on this.
2- Yes, go to sprint.com and select shop then accessories. Select the phone and it's listed under Charge & Power. Or go to amazon and get the gorilla gadget extended batt for less then 1/2 cost of Sprint. I personally don't have an extended batt but thought about it, and recently did some research on em. Both options keep nfc fully functional.

Original GW v GW3

I'm thinking of upgrading from the original GW to the GW3. I know that the battery specs show that the GW3 has a smaller battery. How is the battery life?
I like the idea of a faster processor and more storage space, plus the software upgrades and more features, just concerned that it will kill the battery.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I've been using the gw3 all day with always on display turned on. It's at 73%. Like 12hrs in to the day at this point.
