Hello everyone, i recently bought an HTC One X S720e. I'm having problem with signal! in the places where signal should be at full bars, it appears only 2-3 bars, and in a places where i should have 2-3 bars, i dont have signal at all! 3G is not working... usually the icon that appears is "E" sometimes only "G" (without 3).
When the networks drop, the phone started to get very hot somewhere to the camera, and the battery drains quickly...!
I've tried to change baseband version, right now im using 5.1204.167.31 but problem is still the same!
I have Android 4.2.2, with 4.18.401.4 software with sense 5 stock rom rooted
If someone can help me with this problem, I would be very grateful.
thank you!

might be a software issue or even a short circuit somewhere... try another rom and another kernel, might fix if it's not hardware related...

Has anybody came across this problem, I recently flashed to Duttys 3.1 Final and Radio BS14 and now my phone loses its signal to my Tmobile network when I unplug it from my charger. But when I plug it back in, it locates the network in a few seconds. But I am getting a lot of dropped calls when it shows I have full bars. Any ideas on why it might be doing this? I dont want to have to make calls and text only when its plugged in. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated guys.

ya i tried almost 5 different radios and ROMs and no luck.
The guy in this thread reported the same problem I am having but it does not look like there was any solution to this problem. Do you think I may have flashed to 1.93 in a way that could have screwed up the radio or internal antenna?

does HTC have download links to those original ROMs, because I got my diamond when it first came out, I think it was 1.34 if I remember right so ill try flashing back to that ROM if I can find it. Im not sure what version the radio was though.
Hi
I Am Running The Latest Cm7 (7.1) and its has been great in everything. The Major Problem is The Wifi Range in This rom, i am standing in front of the router and all i get is 2 bars of wifi so i would like to know if there is a solution for that.
i am using the 2.6.35.14 lordmod kernel 8.5 cfs + 2wcr
and the baseband version : 12.54.60.25u_26.09.04.11_M2
is There a solution for that please?
should i change the radio or something?
if so what is recomended and where i cant get it.
And Thanks For You Help Brothers
Is your battery door damaged? Try removing it, clean the metal contacts and apply it again. The battery door houses the wifi antenna so maybe that might help.
If that doesn't work then try flashing a new Radio and its corresponding RIL as well.

i would have a look at your wireless router to make sure it's not that first
does the internet speed feel fast like normal? sometimes the UI can report the wrong number of bars but you actually have good signal.
If those two things don't work, flashing a new radio might help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877295

Hey,
I noticed that around two days ago my HOX started acting up.
It has low to no signal most of the time, no data connection, or it shows the data connection with the "E" letter.
I have rooted it long time ago, and ran RENOVATED rom, and had no problems. it started without me doing any alterations.
So I switched to Revolution to make sure it is not rom related, and the issue persists.
Any ideas what could be the problem? tried searching for it, nothing seemed useful.
Phone details:
Kernel version: 3.1.10
Baseband version: 5.1204.162.29
Build number: 3.14.401.31 CL128187 release-keys
Thanks!
SOLVED: Read below for details.
i suggest changing networks to make sure its not a network related issue
Changing the network, by that you mean trying to change the SIM?
I have tested another SIM and I still had the same issues. and my SIM seemed to be working fine on another device.
GetLIR reported that I have the correct versions. I am really clueless as to what is the problem..

yeah that's what i meant - did you try a factory reset ?
And if that doesn't help either i think you should backup everything and get back to stock then start everything again from square 1 .
why fix it if it ain't broken ?

i cannot say for sure that its a hardware issue but that seems likely as you've said that this whole thing began all of sudden without you messing up anything so you better check with nearby service centre .
why fix it if it ain't broken ?
Thanks for the help, I have managed to fix it.
I have opened it, and saw that the signal cable was not connected all the way. connected it, put it back and I now have 5 bars. YAY

just add a [SOLVED] tag to title so that others who might end up in here searching for similar problems have a possible solution .

hi!
thank you for your post, did you by any chance take pictures of where that cable is?
and how dificult it is to reach it?
my phone is under warranty, actually just came from service, and now im having bad signal reception, in the same areas where my previous "i" phone had full bars allways and no problems with signal, no drop outs, nothing,
and with Hox is almost very low, or no signal, and constant breakups in withing calls.
sending it back to service is pain in the ass, its far, postage, time to wait for them to fix it, again....
Hi there, for some reason I can't get the wifi to work correctly. The signal is to low, I flashed the latest hboot and viper and android rev rom. I flashed the boot.img for every rom so that cant be the problem. Someone that can help me?

Some HTC One-X are plagued with a hardware problem of weak wifi signal.
Try this....when connected to wifi and signal is weak squeeze with finger and thumb in top right hand corne of screen, as seen in attatched picture and if your signal goes up, then down again when you release, it's definitely a hardware fault.
Had same with mine, sold it in the end for another one.
Matt
Thanks for the reply ! But the squeeze isnt fixing the signal

Hello everyone i'm new here, some time ago i have updated my tablet's android version from 4.3 to 4.4.2 through ota update, after about one month later my tablet started having a weird wifi problem (i don't know if it is related to ota update or not) my tablet shows good wifi signal but it wont connect (it connects only when it is near router's antenna though and this is really weird) and no it is not a router problem because it is the same problem everywhere, i tried EVERYTHING to fix this problem (wifi fixer apps, factory reset, reinstalled android firmware with samsung kies, rooted my tablet and even installed a custom rom) but none of these methods didn't solve the problem.
Does anyone knows how to fix this problem? did i miss something??? could it be a bad kernel? or maybe a bad configuration that should be changed manually, or is it just a hardware problem?
Did you try with stock Lollipop firmware?

Yes many times but this didn't fix the problem, anyway lately i left it to a smartphone service and they said/confirmed that this is a hardware issue, i really hope that they will fix the problem.
