Bad signal or No service after flashing

Hi there. My device is a i747 on Virgin Mobile (Bell) in Canada. I have no service, or 1 bar of signal (can't make calls at all).
I flashed CM10 in November. Then just the other day I flashed Synergy. Then switched to Galaxy Mod. (I followed instructions for each flash, wiped everything each time etc. even when not specified in the instructions)
Today I switched to CyanogenMod 10.1, I got stuck in a boot loop. So I reflashed back to a stock root image with Odin (root66.stock_Bell_I747MVLALH1.tar). Now I have no service! I can see one signal bar. Under status it says VIRGIN.
EDIT: Now after I typed that, I reflashed another rooted stock image, I have no service at all and IMEI shows as 0.
EDIT: Since posting I have restored my IMEI, the phone seems to be registered on the network. But still no signal just like before
EDIT: March 16: I have tried flashing modems. Then I restored to the latest actual stock (non-rooted) image from my carrier. Same thing.

After restoring your imei make sure your apn settings are correct.

Hello.
I just travelled by train and it picked up signals, both voice and data. Possibly because i was passing close to a cell tower. But it quickly stopped working whenever the train moved too far from a cell tower.
Then back to no signal at all.
Will check APNs, but I don't think it would start working then stop if it were a configuration issue.

Yes, the modem is not working properly. Should I flash another modem or what? Thanks.

Yeah, sorry wasn't all too clear. I replied in a rush.
Go in the modem thread and look for modems for your carrier and start by flashing their latest.

I tried the latest modem for i747M from the thread and it didn't work, same stuff is happening. I will keep trying them. Anything else I can try if that doesn't work?

I tried about 4-5 so far. Didn't work. It's the same result. I'm not able to make any calls, it either shows 1 bar or No service.
So far I have set APNs, updated IMEI, and reflashed modems. When I get home I'm going to try more stuff.

Hi there, I just flashed this file from Samsung-updates.com using Odin. It is 4.1.1 from my carrier.
KIES_HOME_I747MVLDLK4_I747MOYCDLK4_538866_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Then I did a factory reset from inside Touchwiz. What should I try next?

I tried flashing another image: KIES_HOME_I747MVLALE8_I747MOYCALE8_20120523.225040_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
and doing the factory reset code *2767*3855#. Didn't work, still have no signal in general.

[Q] I lost 4g and need help getting it back.

I flashed Sonic 4.1.1 right after I got this phone (in November), and it worked awesome until last week when I tried to flash 4.2 on it.. I lost 4g and now it mostly stays on Edge.. Any ideas...? I did all the fixes I could find on XDA, I flashed back to factory,, Factory reset it, and everything I could think of... I'm stumped and my phone is slow..

Look at this thread. It may help. You will need to be on a Tw ROM.

Thanks mrhaley, I tried removing the RAT restrictions, and switching to Automatic, then choosing all lte, but still no good.. In fact All lte made me lose signal completely.. Any other ideas before I call At&t? haha

Try going back to stock and start all over or flash your current modem/Baseband and see what happens

Choose all lte first then automatic. Since your stuck on edge select all wcdma too. Just select automatic as the last thing you do before exiting that menu.

Great directions guys! it's working now.. Whew, I missed my 4g...

Well, you all helped me figure out how to get 4g, Now how do I get it to stay connected.. It will only stay connected for a few mins now, then it goes to E.. I can get 4 g at will now, but it won't stay connected...

hows the ol' IMEI? i'm mentioning it because i havent heard you specifically mention whether or not you lost/restored it

Thanks for asking... Yes I did lose the IMEI, and had to restore it.. I also went to radio shack and got a new sim card. I have factory flashed and reset it and did all the steps on the link above..

Network Error

Hi,
i am having trouble with my galaxy nexus[maguro] i have flashed a 4.4 alpha rom and then i was not able to use my simcard in the phone, but when i put in another sim from a different carrier everything works, but my simcard dosent. i have contacted my network provider and they sent me a replacement sim which didnt fix anything. I have also restored my nexus back to 4.1.2 using this tutorial: http://goo.gl/DtAJPa .
this has not helped me at all, so i am reaching out to anyone who can help me. what can i do to fix this?

no signal after flashing rom

i have a samsung galaxy s3, ive been rooted for a long time and flashing roms all the time. well i flashed a rom just now and i have no signal, not sure if i burned out the radio (not sure if thats possible, but it also said to insert sim card while it was already inserted), but i dont understand how that would happen. the sim card works in another phone that im using now, so its not the sim card thats causing the issue. my carrier is at&t, and no signal showing, not data or cell (wifi still works, but thats a different story). has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it? im guessing modem flashing, but not entirely sure. can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

just a suggestion, but try rebooting your phone again. this happened to me before and i got freaked out but a reboot has fixed this on a few occasions. running a flashed rom just fine right now.

I believe you need to do a factory reset. Backup your data first!

The first thing to troubleshoot you should do is flash back to a rooted stock rom and make sure the data is working there. If so this will rule out any sort of hardware problem. You didn't say whether or not you did but you can also try fully wiping the phone (dalvik/cache, system, and data), re-download the rom incase you had a bad one the first time and reflash. Other than that check that maybe check the apn settings.

Yup I ended up doing that last night..im back on the stock root injected rom. So im still rooted and network now works! So im glad. How would I flash a rom without losing the network this time?

Now that you have flashed back to stock a full wipe has been done in the process. At this point all you can do is flash it and see, but as i said i would redownload if you plan on using whatever rom it was you mentioned in the OP. I would also do a full nandroid backup to save the pain of using odin incase it doesn't work. I imagine the problem was with lingering files/fragments from multiple flashes that were causing the problem, in any case whatever the problem happened to be it was software related.

K will do. Its just weird because the md5 matched and everything..but I will for sure download the rom and gapps again. Thanks for the tips!

well, i finally got the service to work after flashing a rom. it still remains a mystery to me tho, i used to always use the illusion rom everyday, for months. i decide to flash the same exact one but no service, i download it a couple more times and still no service after flashing about 3 or 4 times. i tried a completely different rom and the service is active. i dont understand why and cant figure out what is so different this time hah. o well, im just glad its all working now even though its with a different rom. thanks for the help guys!

ok, im back =[
i was using the carbon rom with no problems, it was working great, but just a half hour ago i was listening to music and texting (i always do this), and then phone just turned off. I tried to reboot it but it wont! it always shuts off while booting. i made it to CWM, but it turns off while in CWM. i also made it to download mode, which led me to assume that the phone is not bricked, but it doesnt stay on download mode, it just turns off randomly. i figured maybe it was battery, so i tried another, and no change! does anyone know what the issue is? i cant figure out how to keep the phone ON, or why its not staying on.
btw, i got it to boot completely just once, and it was acting up still. any ideas? please help

Already flashed back to backed up stock rom but still no signal. But when I use the MIUI rom, it has signal.

What is the bootloader and baseband version on the phone? Which version of stock are you flashing?

I'm on candykat rom and my phone wont connect to a network, ive tried switching roms and nothing, any ideas?

I had something like that happened to my stock lg optimus g pro as well it just randomly lost service and wont come back...

YEAH...sometimes when the single poor,ogp will lost signal...

no ive been working on it all week and still nothing ive flashed it back to stock ALL the stock .tot's ive tried with qpst and that just keeps failing its a fiasco if anyone has any suggestions ill be happy to try them however ive accepted this phone is gone so if theres a risk im not worried..

Yeah, its not just data its any network connection. I get no signal at all

Did you backup your efs?

Not too long ago I had this issue. This is what worked for me...I took my sim card out and put 3 pieces of scotch tape ontop. Cut the excess tape off and put my sim card back in...and signal was back. Hope this helps.

Flashing the modem that correspond to your device will be an option. The ideal would be backing up your efs folder before doing anything so you can restore it in cases like this.
Find out what your modem should be and flash it again from recovery.
