I just set up my girlfriends z1 compact and went through the usual setup. Added her google account but when setup was complete it didn't start downloaded updates for the google apps like it did on my z2 or any other android device i have. Anyone know why this is happening?

You might wanna check in the play store settings to see if auto-update is off or not, by default it should be on. In case if its still not working, try a factory reset and sign in again. It should work now.

Hey Guys,
I updated to 4.0.4 last night by clearing the data for Google Services Framework and rebooted. Update went smooth. Noticed this morning that when I go to the Play Store website, it does not show the Galaxy Nexus under My Devices. Same thing for Google Dashboard. I am on AT&T in the US. Anyone else have this issue? Able to resolve it?
Thanks
Perhaps someone on custom 4.0.4 rom or updated via normal method I.e. Google push update can check if their devices are missing as well ?
If so it would most likely be an issue with 4.0.4 or Google play store

I fastboot flashed 4.0.4 update to my phone and it shows up in the Play Store. Just installed an app from the web page no problem.
Has to be something with the way you "forced" the update, OP. Try clearing your Play Store cache/data and rebooting, and logging in/out on the browser.

I tried this. Same thing. Galaxy Nexus does not show up in Play Store on the Web. I am able to download apps fine on the device itself. Any other ideas? Anybody else's not showing up in the Play Store?
This might be a dumb question but are you able to get into the playstore via your nexus? If you can perhaps you should try to download something from your phone and that might activate the play store to accepting your phone there.
Same for me, not showing up via the website but am able to download apps with no issue.
Try this

Thanks. That did the trick!
So I got my phone showing up in the Play store by signing in the store again. However, the store force closes every time I try to download an app from the web-ui. Anyone else experiencing this?
Downloading from the web seems to be working as normal for me. There was an error (927) bit disappeared after 20 sec.
Yeah, the problem resolved itself on my phone too.
i just cleared the play data sorted it instantly
it seems the problem is not the 4.0.4 update but clearing the Google Services Framework data. I still cannot see the phone on play store but as suggested above I will wait for another 30 min or so to see if it comes up.
PS: still on 4.0.2

This worked for fixing something missing in my device Play Store App, on my Razr M - it has yet to restore my device via the web browser.
Have tried everything else except Factory Reset (trying to avoid this).
Update: A day later my device is back via the web ~ though I suspect it's related to me removing a Secondary Google Account last night.
Running 4.1.2 (stock rom, no root)
Has anyone else noticed their phone missing from their market account after the update? My phone is no longer listed and if I choose an app to download my phone is not one of my options. I can reach the market fine from the phone but cannot see the phone fwhen on the site with my PC.

I haven't had mine missing after the JB update, but it might be considered a new phone under google (for whatever reason, even though that doesn't make sense)? I know when I got a new phone, it took about 2 days to show up under the market.
Have you used the google framework trick for a while? this issue appear after clean the data of this app. you just need to delete your account from the play store and add it again, then wait a moment, and it should be appear again.

Yes, I cleared the data. It is now in the store. I didn't delete the account but I did delete an old device I no longer have and that seemed to fix it.
Thanks!
How you deleted on old device? I can only dont list it at the store, but its still there.
When setting up a new phone, how do you stop the play store from downloading all the apps you had on your old phone? I'd like to do this manually and not have it go hog wild as soon as I boot the phone for the first time.
Thanks!
Anyone?

I thought it was in the first steps of setting up the phone or shortly after signing in with your google account. I can remember the step on my previous phone but don't remember seeing it on this phone but likely missed it. It's something about backup and restore. I always de-select it and then enable it later. That avoids the download frenzy.
Yea. If you chose back up / restore when setting up phone / adding google account for first time. Its going to auto download all the apps you had your last device synced with your account. But you can disable auto update from the market. In settings.
On lollipop it asks you during setup if you would like to restore. If you fast finger mgee'd all the way through mashing the next button the default is to restore all apps you had installed on your last phone/before you reset.
or at least the ones you installed from play store.
If you master reset and poke around a bit you may see that you can restore some all or none of the apps by selecting different options.
if you have already done this then you will need to go into play store and stop all manually. which is often hard because all your bandwidth(both internet and processor) is being hogged by the downloads
This is one thing that has always annoyed me with the play store. If you are not on wifi it's nearly impossible to get it to stop without at least a half dozen of the apps installing before you can get it to stop.
Maybe google will fix this someday.
Or you can just remove it from My Apps in the play store. Tap the X in the upper right corner of the apps you don't want anymore.
Hi there. I would like to switch the Google Account on my LG G3, but I am facing some issues when I do that.
Firstly, the GA I used to setup the phone in the store will show all default stock and Verizon apps under Play Store->My Apps. It will also allow me to "Update All" and have the apps set to Auto-Update.
I went and did a factory reset, having made a new GA account on my laptop to use. I input the new GA on the initial setup, but here is where the issue is....under Play Store->My Apps it doesn't show a single app, stock Android apps or Verizon apps. I am unable to "Update All" or even set them to auto-update, though I do have "Update over wifi only" set and I am on wifi.
Browsing for one of the stock apps, like Google Chrome, will allow me to manual update and then it will show in "Installed/All" apps. With the new GA, I am also unable to update the Google Play services.
Doing another factory reset and putting in my old GA will act normally. I can see every single app, stock Android and Verizon. I can update them all, including Google Play services.
Is there any way to get my new Google Account to allow me to do the things I do with my former one?
I recently received an update on my Chinese mate 20x. After the update, Google sync does not work and anyting reliant on Google servers is also malfunctioning. For example, WhatsApp cannot backup to Google drive, Google drive does not sync or backup and Google photos is also not working. I'm unable to sign in or switch accounts in the Google app. Tried the usual things like clearing cache etc but didn't help. I'm open to trying anyting and would like to avoid a hard reset. Anyone else having these issues? Any suggestions I could try? Thanks in advance

Thanks got the response. you upgraded and did a factory reset yourself? If so, is there a guide you followed after the reset on installing Google services?
Thanks again
It is possible because the China ROMs do not come with Google services. Just re-download and re-install the .apk file and it will be fine.

Thanks for the response has everyone. I just wanted to update and say that after doing a reset through the settings I reinstalled Google services and everything is working. As an added bonus, even my location history now works. It never did in the past.

Google Playstore

you can find all Google Apps and many others on the APK Mirror Page.

I reset my phone and installed google play store from apk but location history still doesn't work, how can you enable it ?
Howdy.
Have you managed to solve this? My EVR-AL00 came with Pie and it also had Google Play Store pre-installed with GMS Installer.
Once I had it updated to Android 10, Google Play Store stopped working. I reset the device, got the Google Play Store APK from APKMirror, and installed it.
Now that I have sync issues. Entering Google account profile returns Offline status. Also Google Contacts don't sync and Goodie Books shows connection error when you open the Books app. I can't get any book, the app displays white screen when you open it.
Other apps like GMail and GPay indicate no sync issues, however opening Google account profile from any of the app doesn't display anything on any tab excluding the first one. Also the first tab in profile shows that I'm offline. While I'm not, as I can browse web, chat with WhatsApp, send and receive mail.
Any clues on fixing that?
