Hi everyone. I am running Team Freeze SM-T520 ROM on my 10.1. I would have posted question there, but I have to have a certain number of post. The back button on the tab frequently quits working. Along with the multi-window button and home button. Now I do have a case on it but even when leave it off and come back to it, it doesn't work. I have tried looking on google to see if this is a hardware issue or what. Came up empty handed. I don't know if its the ROM or what. Is anyone else having this problem? Need some guidance in this because it is very annoying to have this problem on a brand new tab.
I've experienced this as well. Not sure what causes it though.
I think it might just be a hardware issue with overheating. When I have my cover on with the tablet propped up it seems to be fine. When I lay the tablet down with the cover it seems to happen more frequently. So I would suggest a case that lets you air out your device or one that props it up like mine.

Hello, I have been experiencing an intermittent issue, that is become very frustrating when trying to do anything with the phone; text messaging is unusable at this time.
This issue has happened on the original version of android, and current version which is the KANG Milestone 2. I also have Franco Kernel. This is a GSM model running on USA AT&T. It has happened everywhere. At home, work, etc. It doesn't matter if I am close to another electronic device, if I am holding the phone, etc. Sometimes I can go days without having this issue, but it seems like lately it has increased.
I uploaded a youtube video, but cannot post the link, if someone can post it for me. here is the information after the website address watch?v=HbCs9_JUQFE
Basically it will keep inputting buttons or key presses, or switch my homescreen, etc. If it were a hardware issue wouldn't it happen all the time?
Anyone with advice or have had that issue? If you need anymore information I can try to get it to you if the phone will work with me.
Thanks!
I may be wrong, but it looks like there's something wrong with the digitizer. A wire maybe coming loose or you could have more problems than that. I'd go get it swapped out if I were you. Could be a simple fix, could not. Why risk opening your phone when its still in warranty?
i got an issue with random inputs on my galaxy nexus too.
i activated the setting to show touch-inputs in developer-options and recorded a small video
as you can see i happens along the right side of the screen and you pretty much can´t do anything while this is happening (when you´re in an app, the screen will just scroll around like crazy and do random stuff.
edit: new users can´t post working links...

Looks like a hardware defect, that one you'll want to send back.
Hey guys, I'm a new member of the XDA Community and was hoping to address an issue my new Galaxy Nexus has been running with. First of all, it is a Canadian Nexus device and is running Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I've had the device for a week now, and it was day ONE where the Nexus started malfunctioning. While on the homescreen, lockscreen, or just using apps, the device would randomly press things. Now what I mean is, while I was texting, the device randomly typed in gibberish. My fingers didn't touch ANYTHING. Or another time I was on my lockscreen and the device started glitching by going to emergency dialer inputting random numbers; I'd press back or off, but what the device was doing was pretty much overriding my commands forcing me to perform a battery pull. Also while browsing the phone inputs random things (be it links or what so) as well as opening up random things in a game (Knights of Pen and Paper). These "glitches" happen ONCE IN AWHILE. The phone might "glitch" for a couple of seconds before going back to normal. I factory reset the device and the problem still persists once in awhile (just not as severe). The phone might usually press the home button by itself (trust me, my hands and fingers are nowhere near the home button when that happens). I researched the issue and some went through this, but unfortunately, this doesn't feel like a hardware defect (if it was, would it not persist continuously/not randomly?). I don't think taking it to where I bought it would help because I can't replicate the issue (the issues stopped for two days before pressing random things again after, except it wasn't as severe). I just thought to let the community know about my ghost phone, so any questions and comments concerning my issue would be greatly appreciated!
Sorry for the long post.
I'd backup my SD card and then completely wipe everything off the phone.
In twrp wipe>format data at the bottom. Not sure about cwm
There's no such thing as a possessed device.
Op, read this first.
Then, read the first post of this thread.
Oh I've seen a possessed device.
My friend has a spica that runs 2.3.7 on it. The same problem started with 2.2.2 and he hoped the upgrade to a newer rom would help.
It didn't help. Random key press is but one of the problems. The hardware buttons don't work and has made the phone unusable.
So can we rule out software issue on this? It could be the screen going bad.
Who knows..

OP,
Perhaps use paragraphs in future as well, makes it a LOT easier to read
I updated to GPE 4.4.3 through the RUU recently and have had some pretty bad persistent touchscreen problems recently.
I have turned show touches on in developer settings and discovered the the issue takes two forms. Sometimes the screen has trouble tracking my finger. Ill swipe my finger around, and the phone will not register my finger smoothly unless I press down hard. Then sometimes this issue will randomly fix itself and the phone will smoothly track my finger on the screen without the need to press down hard. When this happens however, a new problem arises. There will be a persistent ghost tap in the upper left hand corner. The screen thinks it's getting repeatedly pressed. Additionally, the location it thinks its being pressed sometimes moves a drop around.
When I downgrade back to 4.4.2 however the problem disappears. I've tried multiple 4.4.3 roms, and even tried running the 4.4.3 RUU, yet the issue persists. What could possibly be the problem. Could it be hardware related? In which case why does it only show on 4.4.3?
I really need to fix this, and will offer a bounty of $10 to anyone who will work with me to try to figure out what exactly the issue is, and fix it. I can send videos and logcats if need be.
Bump. I could really use help with this issue...
The second problems happens to me too
Sometimes when I open the gmail app, an email is pressed on its own without me touching the screen.
This happened a lot of times.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Weird... Are you running a custom kernel?

Good question.
I'm on HTC stock 2.22.401.4 and didn't encounter this problems with the actual or predecessor firmwares. So it could either be a problem with the GPE 4.4.3 kernel, or caused by a custom kernel installed. The - as I think - only alternative is that one of the installed apps is causing issues ..
Hello,
The screen of my moto 360 goes randomly off and vibrates at that moment, just like when you dim the screen with your hand., but now I'm using it. It's very frustrating because I can't even open an app normally or the screen goed of and I need to start over again. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Having same issues with mine.
Really strange and really annoying. Its like when u cover it with palm. It vibrates and screen goes off but ur in the middle of trying to do something. Anyone else having this problem?
Glad I'm not the only one having this issue, just got my Moto 360 today. I'll be in the Settings or other parts of the watch and it will just randomly turn off. It is really frustrating to deal with.
I have the same issue. I have pretty hairy arms so I wonder if the hairs are somehow triggering the capacitive touch screen.
you guys try to do a reset on the watch yet?? not just a reboot..
Any updates on this? I'm having the same issue
Any updates? I have the same issue I think it happend after udate to 5.0.2 but I'm not sure.
I'm also having the same problem. I picked up a new Moto 360 during the BBY sale rush of the last couple of days. At first it was buggy but the screen seemed to stay on while working with it. Then it had a system update, and since then most bug issues (like the faces not updating with the companion app changes) went away, however from that point the screen constantly shuts off, usually with a little buzz, while I'm interacting with the watch.
For instance, regarding the sensor used to turn off the watch if you palm it. I thought maybe that was it, so I was looking for a way to turn that off. I went into settings, and spend about 10 times of the screen shutting off before I could get to "accessibility settings" just to see if that might be there.
This problem occurs whether I'm wearing the watch or not (trying to eliminate arm hair or similar), and has occurred after a factory reset and re-pair with my phone (Note 4). Ambient sensor settings don't help, because all that does is make the screen go dark instead of off, but it still reverts back to the clock no matter what I was doing.
Any ideas? Any way to turn off a sensor perhaps, maybe in a custom ROM? Since this seems to be associated with an update near as I can tell, I wonder if a fix is coming from Moto or if it's too rare of an issue to be on their radar.
As an update, I replaced the watch with a new one, and this new watch is perfect. It started on outdated software which I left on for a bit to make sure it didn't show the problem, then I updated. Still no issues. I think there is a chance the problem is software regardless, but either way it must be a small portion of watches and isn't necessarily tied to any particular outside software influence (phone model or android version, or installed apps as NONE of those things changed). My advice to people reading this thread is to exchange the watch or get an RMA if possible.
Same Issue
Hi All,
I have the same issue. Sent it back for repair so let's see...
Same issue here as well
I've been reading through the previous threads and I'm still confused if the issue is hardware or software related. I have the AUO panel and have broken swipes, and times where I can't scroll properly. This has been going on a couple months now and it's getting on my last nerve since it's frequently happening when I need my phone to work properly. All this time I assumed it was software but a couple threads mentioned it was hardware. Trouble is, some people with the JDI screen also have issues so I don't understand. My question is, has anyone ruled out software by flashing an AOSP rom? I'd rather not send this to Sony if at all possible since they don't cross ship and I'd be without a phone.
I have rarely an issue with the touch screen, when swipe up or down, it doesn't swipe it acts like I've just touched (clicked) once the display. I think it is a software issue, because in my case, if I turn off the display wait for 2-3 seconds and turn it on, it works with no problems.
Can you point me please to other threads that have this issue in discuss?
Thank you!
Have you removed the asf from the screen and placed an actual screen protector on it? I found that this really helped with the weird screen issues.
I have a screen protector over the ASF. But that has nothing to do with my issue, because, like I said, when I turn the display off, wait 3 seconds, and on again everything is working normally.

Yeah, I reboot usually and the issue temporarily goes away. Then it will come back a day or two later. I'm afraid to remove the ASF because I've read some issues with goes touches even with a screen protector. I just want the issue to be fixed... I was thinking of flashing a AOSP rom but wanted to see if anyone with that ROM had any trouble or not. Maybe the L update in January will fix things.
Here are the resources I've read on this issue:

I have rarely that issue, like I said I just turn off the screen, and after 2-3 seconds turn it on and it's gone. I'm sure this is a software related issue.
If it helps at all, I never had the issue in the two weeks I tried an aosp rom. However the camera and battery life were a bit lacking so I'm back on a stock rom.
I haven't have the issue too in the past weeks, I've wiping cache and dalvik cache pretty often , because I've installed some system apps. Anyway I will really want to know the cause of this
L.E. I'm still on stock firmware.
L.E. 2 : The Glove mode function, in the Settings-Display menu has an application or something? Has a file redirected to it? Is there in the phone's system a file than can be edited or deleted or something for the glove mode function? Maybe we will find answers there.
I'm not sure that I've made myself understood with the question.
