How can I disable system updates (OTA)
I do not intend to update any of the startup tells me, inviting me to download 4.4.3
Thanks
PS.
Nexus 7 2013 rom 4.4.2 + root +
ElementalX kernel
Why would you NOT update? Makes no sense to not, you don't loose anything, outta a Nexus after all

I would like to avoid losing your customizations and mods
and I would wait for Android The stock then update and share, I'm not going to update now with 4.4.3 then again to 4.4.4 and then having to change again with Android L
PS. I hope that my English is understandable with google translate ..

He asked how to disable OTA updates, not an opinion on the matter, or a statement as to how he should use the device you didn't buy for him
As for how to disable OTA updates, could try checking out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2429820 but if that doesn't work, there seems to be plenty of other threads with different solutions on the subject.

You'll need to be on 4.4.3 to update to 4.4.4

Hi there
I'm planning to flash both my Nexus 7 WiFi & Nexus 5 to Paranoid Android 4.0 Beta 3.
I've always loved PA and it seems nice to have both of my devices running on it.
Though, I wonder about updates. If, in some time, Beta 4 happens to come around, will I be able to update through the OTA update app?
Although I know it's a beta, I'm planning to have a few games and stuff on it and I don't want to lose all my data and stuff when the update is going to happen.
I've read something about that OTA updates are actually "dirty flashes" and it can mess up some things on your device.
What's the best way to update?
Thanks a lot

Yes it is a dirty flash but as on the same rom this does not effect anything and will be fine.
Happy flashing.

Thanks! Just read the same when I asked on Google+!
Cool, looking forward to the fourth beta
So, this week, Android Lollipop will be OTA updated to LG G3. My question is do we lose root and every mods we have placed on the device? I like the new features and optimization on Lolipop, but I also want my xposed modules to stay intact. It hints me that when I update, I would lose those modules and tweaks. I just need some confirmation on some devs here or some experienced Android updaters from OTA.

Has anyone gotten the update already and would like to share some information, opinions, insights?
Thanks!

I also have mine on 22.21.25 and would like to know if there's a link to update to 22.21.28
I'm on 22.21.25 as well. Unfortunately, i done got myself suspended over at moto forums so no MFN/soak test for me.:crying: I'm torn.... On one hand, I just want to unlock the bootloader and do whatever I please. On the other hand, Id rather keep it stock, as I want to sell the phone as soon as possible to buy an Asus zenfone 2 - IF its being released in the US, that is.
Just got a small update. Anyone know what's in it? 6.0 prep maybe?

A big update needs a small prep update???? Never heard LOL
Too many video games, I guess. Was half asleep and forgot that that's just not how this works lol
Lousy timing on AT&T. I have been trolling waiting for this update and got really excited. Would have been OK with even an update to unlock the FM radio but alas, we just have a generic update.

No i didn't "root/hack the software" lol . i haven't even received the phone from retailer. this phone is factory unlocked. IMO or experiences this will not affect it but wanted a third opinion.

Unlocked doesn't mean that it was hacked or rooted. It means that you can use any carrier's sim card in it.

I'm no expert, but the way I think it works is that if your phone's not AT&T branded you won't get the update as they are AT&T version specific. If you want to check for and get any kind of updates you'll probably have to go through Samsung's Kies program.
Sorry, misread on the unlocked part.
I just got lots of updates from the play store, one of which is the new Samsung Browser that is included in 6.0 Marshmallow
ok thanks Kyuta Syuko for the information

The Samsung Browser update wasn't tied to this update, Samsung updated the browser to work with Lollipop.
Download This Small Update
Any one know where i can download this update and update manually? I have a att note 4 on tmobile. I use to be a att customer. But i was told by tmobile that my device software updates have to come from att because i have a att branded version of the note 4.

If i had att i would be able to install this update on my phone and would not even need to ask about this. But i no longer have att and have tmobile and want to have all the latest bug and os patches even though you think i do not need it.

Android's April security update tackles another Stagefright flaw
You'll want to update in short order.
Google's monthly Android security updates are nothing new, but its latest release may be particularly important. The new April update tackles eight critical vulnerabilites that include one in the libstagefright library -- you know, the same media framework that recently faced a rash of real and potential exploits. It also patches a nasty kernel flaw that would give attackers full control over your device. You'll get first crack at the fixes if you either have a Nexus device or can install an Android Open Source Project build, but other vendors that offer Google's monthly updates will likely follow suit before long.
Now tell me that i do not need this update!

Relax no one's gonna target you and "hack into your phone" if your worried about stagefirght then you shouldn't rely on att or Samsung for that matter to patch it, consider using a texting app that offers protection instead like textra. Anyway good luck finding that 60mb insignificant update file that no one will bother to upload
Stagefright was patched way before this and even though we just got the update, we still don't have the latest patch
Hi Guys
Today my Huawei watch 1 has got Wear OS 2.10 update ( previously android wear ). i installed on watch and my version now 2.10.0.188.
i guess its just a re branding name and nothing new as watch is still on Oct 05 Security patch level.
any ideas ?
It's because android wear designation it's dead. Now it's wear os.

The security patch isn't going to be updated unless there is a firmware update, and there likely never will be. A Wear OS app update will never do this.
Uhhhggg. I really wish Google would have given the watch OS and the companion app different names. There's so much confusion around this.
What's your current phone's Google Play Services version? still sitting on 2.9.x here on my Oreo Stock Pixel
Is this actually going to change anything?

I just got my old watch replaced after a year, haven't been keeping up to date
Can somebody update me with the changes? I just read that Negamann ceased development of his ROMs because he got his watch replaced with a 2.0
Is there anything stopping me from installing his old HW+ Kernel and his ROMs?
Is there a specific order I need to flash kernel and ROM? (Kernel first, then ROM? ROM first, then kernel?)
If I want to return to stock, and I'm running custom kernel, do I have to replace kernel with stock before restoring ROM?
Thanks!
