[q] VPN without PIN or password - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi,
I set up a VPN (Android 4.4.2), but for security reasons it is only possible with PIN or password. How to select other security options, like an unlock pattern?
Any ideas?

[Q] Installing a certificate

Is there a possibility to install a certificate without the need to set a PIN number or unlock pattern? I'm talking about a certificate which is needed to connect to a certain WiFi network.

Disable lock screen password/encryption?

I set up the encryption with a lock screen password, so now Ihave to put in a password every time I unlock the screen.
I don't want a password anymore. So I go into the security options and it still acts as though the device doesn't have a password. All the options are grayed out except the one for setting up a password, the same as it did the first time I set up the password.
Is there a fix for this?
Remove encryption. If you have Xposed, there are a couple modules that work for it.

[Q] Using fingerprint unlock with encryption enabled

I is it possible to use the fingerprint reader to unlock the phone with encryption turned on?
I would like to setup Tasker to force a reboot after 3 failed login attempts, thus forcing encryption on and the use of a strong password. But, if I have to use a strong password to unlock the phone every time I use it, I don't want to turn on encryption.
gscrypt can be used (root required) to setup different passwords to unlock vs. decrypt. Is there something similar for enabling the fingerprint sensor?

[Q] LG G3 knock code screen lock method disabled after installing certificate

Hello. After I installed this certificate (lrz.de/services/netz/mobil/vpn/anyconnect/rootcert.crt) I am no longer to use knock code as a screen lock method. I found out that the name of the certificate is Deutsche Telekom Root CA 2 and disabled it from the trusted credentials menu, but I am still not able to select knock code in the lock screen -> select lock; the options Swipe and Knock Code are white and cannot be selected (It says disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage)
Any help would be much appreciated

Different device encryption password than screen unlock pattern/PIN/password

Hello,
It's possible with the last version of LineageOS, to have a different device encryption password than screen unlock pattern/PIN/password ?
Like this old APP : https://github.com/xmikos/SnooperStopper
SnooperStopper allows you to have different device encryption password than screen unlock pattern/PIN/password. You can have strong device encryption password (which you only need to enter once after booting your device) but simple pattern/PIN/password for unlocking your screen.
