Is there one working yet for the LG G3?
I think there is a WIP. I saw some photos of G3 running twrp, but it is not available publicly AFAIK.
Maybe someone will give you more details.
Have a read of some of the threads, its a work in progress, no estimated time of completion, but people are working on it from what i can see, may pick up pace now that the US versions are available, hope so.

hi,
I'll chime in if you guys don't mind..
All roms 4.3 for sprint that was built by me was just showing some love to sprint users.. I wanted to get the ball rolling for sprint and eventually hopefully someone could continue and with my help they would be off to a rolling start already.. I don't own a sprint g2. I'm a Canadian g2.. I usually don't like building variants that I cannot personally test myself..
I felt is is unfair while everyone owns such a beautiful phone and not able to have it custom while other variants of the exact same phone are able to. So I tried my best to do what I could while I had the time to..
All 4.3 roms I posted for testing will not be supported by me nor will I take responsibility for any problems it may cause..
I will only support anything current that I personally post myself.. anyone is more than welcome to try anything I have released previously, cause if I didn't ok that I would remove the file myself.
I'm a member of PA and all my releases with 4.4 will be built from PA sources. PA is starting fresh so the builds are basically same as stock aosp google releases except with the few minor additions. PA is reworking fresh and will bring in all the known pa features as time passes. it won't be officially support until I post an official thread. but right now I have alpha test builds out. I hate having temporary download links all over the place..
but as for sprint, I felt you guys needed some loving too since I don't see much support at this time.. as for other roms and other official roms, I don't know if the devs will support this variant or not.. it helps to have a dev that has the same variant.. I guess the Canadian g2 ppl will be lucky since I use a Canadian g2
I will try my best to support what I can with the amount of time I have.. having a full time job and building so many variants is very time consuming.
On another note. if someone wanted to post a link for any testing it's best that it should of been posted in the General Section since this forum is for development purposes..
all aside. if you guys want I have an alpha test build of PA 4.0 kk4.4 for the sprint ls980. you can find the rom here.
links can change at any given time.. I will work some more at fixing some bugs but this is what I have to offer for now.. I hope u guys enjoy.thanks. it's best you follow my thread in the original dev forum until I have a formal thread posted with full support but as for now this is what you get till I have more info.

If any Sprint dev was interested in continuing your work on Carbon or PA ROM, should they contact you via PM for the source? I guess there could be some Sprint devs out there interested in making these type of ROMs but don't know where they can get the source to build from it.

I don't think anyone will be working on 4.3 anymore... I will most like support sprint officially with PA if have enough time to manage all the erors.. it seems more simple with the other variants since they are gsm and have mostly all things in common..
we are in the process of all migrations and merging of 4.4. If I don't build officially for sprint I'll make sure to have all the sources on PA's legacy github https://github.com/AOSPA-legacy and anyone that wants to build for you guys would have all the sources they would need.. there is 2 branchs or gits for PA now. the AOSPA which is PURE AOSP and PA uses for Nexus supported devices and now AOSPA-legacy which is for all supported non nexus devices we support. I will try my best.. remember im 1 man.. the team has so many devices and so many things on the go. If I had a whole team of devs working on this with me , it would be much more simple .. I am working with a few ppl and am helping another dev bringup 4.4 for Omni (hopefully if u guys can convince him, he'll build for sprint too )
it's still so early and knowing that g2 has kk. im sure more devs will jump on.. just a little patience
I'll do what I can for you Sprint guys.. but you have to bare with me. I'm only one guy like I said.. I'll keep you guys updated tho.. for all other info you can always go on irc on freenode.org in #lg-g2 . I may not always be online.. and please.. let's keep those PM msg flooding to a minimal. I've been flooded a lot lately and I don't have the time to visit every thread and every PM. I have a hard time enough keeping up on my own thread.

Yup. I'm getting the OTA now
You should upload the files, if you're able, for those who can't/won't get an OTA (ie. Me, lol). If not, it's fine. I'm sure there'll be plenty of places to get it very soon.
T-Mobile's site still says the firmware is in the testing stage.

There's already 2 Lollipop discussion threads... do we really need a third?
Please move to one of the other threads and continue the discussion there. I'll be closing this one. Thanks!
Hey everyone.
Been awhile since I've been back here and I wasn't sure about all the new changes.
Couldn't find any information regarding the stock firmwares and if we are allowed to upload them here.
I'll Explain Further:
Stock Samsung firmwares used to be free to download at good speeds from samsung-updates (I think?), but now they go through download services that cost money unless you want to wait 8 hours for a slower download.
There were threads that listed all the stock firmwares bwfore and I was wondering if I could start a thread for downloading all the SM-P600 stock firmwares (and other Note 10.1" 2014 variations)?
Nice to be back and finally have a device I can play with. It's been YEARS :highfive:

Hi h311sdr0id,
i see you are a developer... If you say you wan't to play with that device, does that mean you have intention to build a custom rom or kernel for p600
This would be the best news since 6 month for p600 owners!
Though I'm not a fan of having to wait, it seems a fair comprimise. Typical "freemium" model. Slow is fine for occasional flashers, but the serious ones will want to pay. It costs to host/manage these updates so seems perfectly fair to me...

I am trying to get back into the realm of XDA and get used to how things are (before I had to take a little vacation). The last device I developed on was a Note 3/4..
I had a lot of people pretty pissed off at me for leaving when I did, but it wasn't my choice. So I need to re-clarify a few things with anyone looking for my first post in awhile:
Any insider information I had before this post was made here, is no longer something I can talk about. If you haven't had a chance to look around and read about what happened to me, you should. I am sorry for letting anyone down, but I had to choose my freedom over a device.
Plus, any information I had (including all of the work I had saved on my computers/devices) was taken from me. I have no access to any of it and I will never see it again.

So now that that's out of the way... Yes, I do plan on working on a ROM for the P600.
My work was usually geared towards ODEXED Stock Roms with all the fun stuff available that DEODEX had to offer. Many of the tweaks that were strictly available to DEODEX ROMs back then had to be reverse-coded to work with ODEX ROMs. I spent a lot of time dropping down ROMs from 1.2GB down to 250MB with add-on available. But I ran (and still run) these tiny ROMs on some of my other devices and they work great to this day.
I am working on a new Live AIO Distro (Debian/Ubuntu) for Android Development. That will continue to be my largest project. But I will be working on the P600 exclusively for a while. I just got one as a gift from another DEV.
If there's anything you are interested in specifically, please let me know. I will open a ROM Thread pretty soon to get some more ideas of what people are looking for.

I used to run my ROMs with weekly updates and fixes when they needed them. But for the most part, people didn't have many issues with my ROMs because I would spend a lot of time on them and test them thoroughly before releasing them. But I also kept to only a few devices at a time. Many big developers have many devices they're working on and so it's hard to spend too much time on one or two devices specifically. Only knew a few DEVs that really kept up on devices like hat back in the day.
But, no. I won't need money for anything. I have plenty of resources available to me that won't cost anyone anything. I do this as a hobby.
Thanks for that comprehensive statement. This are great news, because development for p600 was very poor during the last month...
I think the most important things for p600 we would like to have are:
- a stable stock kernel with permissive rights
- development support for cm 13, because many things doesn't work with it like camera, IR Blaster, Screen Mirroring and we have bad battery life. It also isn't compatible with LP 5.1.1 Bootloader (causing sound issues, random reboots etc.)
- A fast and debloatet stock rom with permissive rights, performance and batterylife optimizations
If you would be able to work on only one of these points, you would be a hero for most p600 owners
Any chance you would be willing to work on a sm-607t rom?
Im not cooking since windows mobile, but ill test.
I can also upload a backup of the stock rom to mega so you dont have to wait 8 hrs to download it.
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to ask a couple questions and start another discussion thread for those of us that have Oreo installed on our devices.
Questions:
With twrp on oreo, what's the status on the flashable version?
Anyone currently or thinking about creating new roms, kernels, etc for the device?
Lastly, what are some things that the nondevs here can do to help us all out?
Hope to see some good discussions
Thanks in advance!
Idk anything about the status of TWRP, so I can't help you there. Overall, I know there was an effort to get a device to a dev, and it was successful. Invisiblek now has one. Looks like he's working on lineage, which is super awesome.
The device now has a repo on the lineage github, so you can see work is being done. As for a timeframe, no clue, just have patience and know that it'll be released once it's ready. We're fortunate that Moto has already updated us to Oreo and it's a pretty stock interface. Only way they could've done better in my view would have been to update the device to support project treble, but that's an entirely different story.
That's about all I know, hope it helps somewhat.
Patience indeed. It'll move along at some point. Next to Sony, I think Moto has one of the cleanest implementations of Android, so it's definitely bearable.
Plus, with the price dropping into "steal" territory, I see more smart ppl coming this way.
Yea thank you guys! I'm being as patient as can be and I just wanted to have a thread here were any and all of us curious folks can have a place to talk about the upcoming of this device and the near future development holds for it. I didn't know it was on lineages repo so that's awesome to hear! That's a perfect example of why I created this post, just to spread the word into one forum and just have a couple chats with everyone about the moto.
Cheers guys, hope to hear more from others too!
Usually when a New J series is out, our community of great developers are all over it finding ways to root and making rooms. Since the J4 has been out for a few months there hasn't been any sort of news or updates. Are there any teams working on it?
I'm afraid that the possibility is slim, since the J4 is not widely released (do correct me if I'm wrong) in the US, UK, or other big-market countries, but rather released in smaller-market countries in Africa, Asia, etc, and even so released rather quietly w/out major press releases. So unless the phone is widely released (relative to other Galaxy phones out there), I'm inclined to believe that such teams would have little to no access to the J4, and thus no development to progress for it.
(Believe me, I'm remaining optimistic that at least an unofficial recovery might be on the works, but there won't be much progress unless the J4 is more widely used/picked-up)
Or, you can learn how to do it yourself.
Not the TWRP porting, but you can definitely MOD your stock ROM to add features Samsung annoyingly disable for not being a "premium" device.
You don't need to know much of coding, you can learn as you go. When the J2 Prime was released (and even to this day) there aren't any custom ROMs so I had to teach myself and I've accomplished great things
Just wait for TWRP and then the doors will open, you'll see

Huh, that's interesting; I'll surely take a look.
Could you further elaborate on the "features" that Samsung disabled? (I don't use a lot of Samsung G's built-in features, so I'm not too knowledgeable on such; tried Google-searching, only came up w/ disabling apps, so that didn't really help...)

For starters, things like edge screen or scroll capture (things that I use a heck of a lot)
I found it funny is that all it took as to change a bit of code here and there, add the right apps and edge screen was working perfectly on the J2 Prime (a very low-end phone).
Samsung went out of their way to delete this feature which is pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
Themes were also disabled for this device, but after reading a few guides I was able to implement a ROM control that allows the user to change the color to their liking
The dev community is always willing to lend a hand, just as long as you're not lazy and expect everything to be put out for you.
I feel the J4 can make a dev out of someone looking to add more functionality to their device (the J2 Prime made a dev out of me )
Ok, so the TWRPBuilder's experimental TWRP build (huge thanks to @yshalsager for this miracle) is on TWRPBuilder's site: twrpbuilder.github.io/downloads/twrp/
Like any TWRP builds, there is ABSOLUTELY zero guarantee that it would work (I tried the first one & it didn't work, haven't had the chance to test the latest one yet)

The J4 uses identical chipset as the J5 prime G570F/M/DS.
I have both and they are great phones for their segment.
Sadly neither are well supported by ROM developers, due to the Exynos chip, I think.

@yshalsager did a test custom recovery for J4 (via TWRPBuilder): https://twrpbuilder.github.io/downloads/twrp/
Have been unable to test it atm (stuck in 7-day jail); if you want to have a go at it & let him know the results, go right ahead!
but first we have to unlock oem.but the problem is no oem unlock in the settings

Yeah that's the 7-day "jail" I was talking about - theoretically you have to leave your phone on non-stop (no reboots, no shutdowns) for 7 whole days straight, then the OEM Unlock option should become available in Dev Settings (it's a confusing security measure by Samsung on Oreo devices)
any update guys? im really bored with this phone now
