[Q] Extreme slow speeds, anyone else have the same issue? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! New and proud owner of the new LG G3! Been using Samsung Galaxy from the first Galaxy to the S4. Thought I should Level Up Actually, tired of them.
Anyway, very satisfied, but I get extreme slow speeds with my G3. With my S4 I get around 30-40Mbit on 4G. I've never even seen the 4G icon on the G3. And my speeds are insanly slow. 0.97Mbit down and 0.06Mbit up!
Check out my Ookla Speedtest result. What's your speed? http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/887050990
Is there any new or other modem I can try?
I've been looking around but it's a fresh phone, so I guess there aren't so much to get a hold on atm?
I have the International model of the D855, 32Gb/3Gb ram
.
I live in Sweden, using Telenor. Never had any problems before.

Potentially need to flash the right firmware onto your device, is yours currently V10A-EUR.XX? if so, maybe have alook in the general thread for euro regions (or even your carrier fw)

Here is the firmware thread :good:

Here's mine hsdpa only while syncing in the background, you should check if it's provider related or if it's your device.

I know AT&T told me i need to call them when I get the phone to update my IMEI # or whatever to ensure proper data speeds. Maybe you need to do that for your particular carrier?

According to this, your device supports Telenor (owned by Net4Mobility) - I'd suggest giving them a call to see if 4G/LTE needs activated.

Try to change Sim. I had the same problem

Attached is my speedtest on HSDPA+.
Your slow speeds are not normal, could be your SIM or maybe the current modem is not ideal for Telenor.
If I were you I would try a different SIM first.

Did you set your APN according to your carrier?

I am getting super slow speeds too. They told me to take the phone back and get it replaced. They said that its an issue with some of the new G3s.

[Q] Z1 Compact and 4G

Hi there,
I have a rooted Z1 Compact (used the UK firmware) on T-Mobile network, and I've just payed for a 4G data plan and also replaced my age-old SIM card with a 4G-capable one.
However, I still cannot register to the 4G network so I only have 3G. Could this be because I'm in Central Europe (Hungary, to be exact) so I should flash the CE ftf because it won't work with the UK one?
Thanks,
Ben
Check your access point settings and make sure you have 4G coverage.
Shouldn't be a matter of UK or CE firmware.

I've checked my settings and everything seems to be in order, and I'm in the capital which is covered by T-Mobile.
Interestingly though, I've flashed the CE firmware (without wiping) last weekend and now it seems to register on the 4G network, so it seems that my problem is solved, although I've yet to see the 4G sign when I'm on mobile data.
It might be a case of your data plan monthly date not being reached. Here in France, changes to a subscription are in effect once one reaches the day in the month on which the contract was started (if you started your contract on the 5th of the month, then any subsequent changes will be put into effect on that day).
My own Z1c has yet to show a 4g symbol, but my contract renews with the 4g option on the 25th... Wait and see.

So today I'm on the renewal day of my monthly contract, and tadaaaaa ! 4g now showing on the phone.

I guess I'll have to wait a bit more.
The whole story is this: I went over my monthly data limit a day or two before I posted this thread, so my net became crazy slow. I thought, might as well look at the mobile data plans again, see if they might have a better option.
Turns out they do have a 4G data plan with 1Gb transfer per month, for just a bit more than what I've paid for my plan before.
So I've switched my plan, and then I realised that my SIM card is probably not capable of 4G because it's basically from the past century.
Now, I have a brand new 4G-capable SIM card, and a 4G data plan that was supposedly activated on the spot, i.e. about a week ago. Still, when I try to connect to the 4G network, this is the message I get:
And it reverts back to the 3G connection.

Unfortunately that seems to be a dead-end as well. As far as I can tell it should be internet.telekom, and it is.
Yeah I probably just have to wait til the original plan expires or something. I'll call them if it's still the same after next week. Thanks for the help and enjoy your device

[Q] Samsung D710BST Weak 3G

Hello everybody!
I've been trying to resolve this by my own without bothering anybody but I'm a bit stuck right now.
I just got this mobile as a gift and these are my doubts.
My mobile is rooted, I live in Dominican Republic, I'm currently fine with this phone, my main issue is my 3G.
My carrier already activated my mobile so I can use their signal and data internet.
Their speed is about 1-2mb but I'm getting only about 112 kbps, that's around 1/10.
I was reading that this issue might be fixed with modem and radios but I can't figure it out which one should I pick and how to proceed.
My old phone was an HTC Desire HD and it was very different, it was easier. I mean, I don't even know how to change roms (if there's any).
But as I said, my main issue its the very slow 3g speed I'm getting.
I would really appreciated any kind of help or advices.
Thanks a lot in advance. :fingers-crossed:

I would recommend the GB27 Modem, but you have to be on the matching build (GB27) to be able to use it.. And yes there are tons of custom ROMs

Alright, finding that modem shouldn't be an issue but how do I match it with the same build? Also you when you say there's a ton of custom roms for this mobile, which ones you mean? Can I use the ones meant to be for Sprint?
Many thanks for your answer.

Download the FL24 modem, here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764210
Yes you can use Sprint ROMs, you just have to change the APN and mmsc url to Boost so you have data and MMS.

LTE Icon?

I've got the international variant and am enjoying it, save for the BL unlock malarkey surrounding non EU variants. I'm currently on T-Mobile, and I know for a fact that I'm getting LTE speeds, as is provided in the screenshot, but the icon simply shows 4G.
It doesn't bother me much at all, but I do like the way the LTE shows on the U.S. models (I think they're U.S. models). Has anyone with an H815 been able to get it to show LTE rather than just 4G? Sure would be nice if we get something like tweakbox like the G3 had to modify whatever we wanted! But alas, I don't think a stable version of xposed will be out for our devices for a long time.

I think you've misunderstood, I know I'm getting LTE already. I've setup the APN and whatnot already, I'm simply trying to get the LTE icon to show the way it does on the U.S. variants. I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if there was some way it could be accomplished on the H815.
For instance, this G4 clearly has superior looking icons on the status bar, including "LTE" on top.
I'm pushing this up as I have the same issue with an h818p.
Any solutions NOW?

Best AT&T Radio / Modem

I am on AT&T and currently Viper ROM ... I have pretty much been a little disappointed in the overall cellular reception of my HTC10 since I got it (compared to my Nexus 6 - which I wasn't thrilled with it's reception -- but the HTC10 is worse!) The N6 reception was pretty modem or radio dependant.
I'm currently on the 1.53 firmware --- has anyone else had a better experience in a different radio or modem (on AT&T) ?
Does the 1.55 ROM have a different firmware and especially radio ??
I am on stock 1.53, use AT&T and have no complaints about service at all. It has been better than my S6 Active was.
Until people start a radio collection (They always have), you are kind stuck with whatever ones come with the ROMs. When they start posting them, then you can flash away until you find one that works better for you.

I guess, more importantly than the Rom, what is your baseband?
I know I live in a somewhat remote area but 90% of the time I've got good LTE service. But I have about a fifteen minute stretch of road that I drive where reception is really marginal (I even have a signal booster and external antenna for my car)
Pretty much most of this area with my HTC I have no service, where I rarely lost completely with the N6

With that said, thinking that I had flashed both bootloader and radio to 1.53, I looked here (see screenshot) and saw this number for my baseband..... The same number was listed in the download mode info screen (along with 1.53.....OS)
What do you have?

4G+ or not

Ok, Im currently living in Japan and we have access to 4G+ or carrier aggregation. I have the unlocked Moto z play (its not available thru the carriers here so moto sells it directly) XT1635-02 and just chatted to motorola support about 4G+ support.
While the customer service representative was kind and trying to be as helpful as they could be, I wasnt that confident that they answered my question. So Can anyone clarify, Does the moto z play support 4G+ ??? The CSR said "it is not automatic like my friend's zenfone 3" so I have to turn on data (which I have on all the time but still no 4G+ symbol)
Thanks
After updating to Nougat, my Moto Z Play is showing LTE+ (for LTE-Advanced)

I'm using jio in India and it is not showing LTE+ thats why i asked you
Yes
Guys, did someone manage to confirm that it supports carrier aggregation? There is a place here that I am 100% sure that has CA and I am very close to the cell, because its the headquarters of the telecom company, but my Z Play doesn't detect it at all and speed is just normal 4G speed. My model is XT1635-02 dual sim.
All of you who post screenshots, can you post a screenshot from the cell info page while you are shown the icon 4G+ or LTE+? Its accessible by typing *#*#4636#*#*, Phone Information -> bottom, the values EARFCN are important. This shows what band are you on. (if you don't know what's this, google EARFCN calculator and when you enter the value there, it gives you the exact frequency that the phone is receiving signal) I didn't manage to get 2 bands on the same time - either is 1575 (band 3 1800mhz) or 2850 (band 7 2600mhz) but not both at the same time which is what actually 4G+ ot LTE+ is - to be connected to two bands at the time.
Thanks
Yes 4G+ works automatically i am pretty sure
