Well, I don't have a rooted phone, and it didn't come with the option for 3G.. So I was wondering can my unrooted HTC wildfire get 3G?? ( If so can you help?)

You'll need to describe your problem more clearly for some help. Maybe some screenshots or an accurate description on what isn't working.

Hello,
The Wildfire S has 3G capability, may you be rooted or not.
If when you're connecting to mobile internet, a little "H" appears on the left of your battery, it means you're using the 3G network.

I don't know whether or nor the OP is using a Wildfire S for the first time, therefore am just giving an easy method for him to check if he is using 3G or not.

How can I take a screenshot? Also, I tried looking in Mobile settings but no 3G option or any G is there. There's no 'H' just bars and something saying what looks to be 'Ev' above arrows.

The 3G you are talking about is HSPA(H) which is a GSM technology............
Since your phone is a CDMA variant, the best it can use is EVDO......which is quite close to HSPA,call it CDMA 3G
Ohhh, x( okay then.. thanks anyways .. (clicked thanks )

EVDO is 3g

It is but it isnt much referred as 3G......plus it's max speeds are lower than HSPA
Recently I have noticed my one x shutting off the mobile network when calling someone. This doesn't always happen but sometimes it does.I'm on t-Mobile uk. And I'm not sharing signal with orange however I have just turned it on to see if it makes a difference. Ant ideas on what to do?

Exact same problem here, i recall being able to make phone calls and surf the net at some point on the one x. I have no idea why i suddenly have this issue as well.
2G can't do both, 3G can, so it might be related to your signal.

Hi,
Carrier : Rogers Canada.
Rom tried : pure Kat and slimbean 6.2
Problem : Voicemail indicator ( at the top bar) doesn't appear when I receive a voicemail. I dont receive sms.
Observation :Works on iphone (rogers) and a LG optimus 3D rooted custom rom (at&t).
APN setting are the same for 3 phones.
VM number are the same for 3 phones.
How can I get VM notifications on the DZ?
Thank you
Strange, does this happen on sense ROMs too?

well, I never tried. Its my next step I guess.
It might be caused by the radio?
Those would be my testing steps, return to stock or try another sense ROM and try some other radios, its doubtful the sim is at fault here but sometimes getting a new one from carrier (which is free) can help

Well, I used the same sim for testing on other devices, and it worked.
I can't say if it ever worked when the phone was new, because I've changed the carrier.
thanks for your help.
I have the att variant of the m8 and I have to set my radio to wcdma only or my data is so inconsistent with dropouts that I can't use the phone. wcdma is very consistent and stable... But I also own an iPhone 5s and it has zero problems with a lte signal and it never drops. Is this a known issue with this phone? Wcdma is fine but obviously I'd rather be on lte... Its just in my area.... When I get close to a bigger city, lte works fine when I switch it back.

I think you've worked it out for yourself. With good coverage it works fine.
Maybe you are in a bit of a fringe area and the LTE signal drops in and out a bit?
