There has probably been others who have asked this before but i've searched extensively and have not found a thread similar to this, but is there any ROM based on HTC Sense 6 thats compatible with the HTC One X?

try Venom Rom, we don't have sense 6 for our Hox, only modded Sense 5
if you want it on a kitkat based rom check Theme section there is a Flashable mod

What do you mean using the word "compatible" ? this is the One X section of Xda, all that you found here is compatible with your phone, assuming that you have the "international" One X with tegra 3 processor and not the one with snapdragon (at&t One X that also have a section here in Xda)

Ironically thats the exactly the one i have right now lol the AT&T model, im asking just in case considering sometimes there are different ROMs targeting certain types of models of the same phone, for example: before Cyanogenmod decided to do unified builds, they had different builds for the different models of the same phone, i.e. Samsung S4 (jflteatt, jfltecan, jfltespr, jfltetmo, etc etc)

Hi ,
I am very new to android and just last week I bought HTC one X which has latest android ICS. I was under the impression that it would show the kannada (a regional language of india) fonts seamlessly as the earlier version of android in Galaxy S2 just worked fine. You can read kannada fonts on browsers without any problem on Galaxy S2. But to my surprise that doesnt happen on my HTC one X which is supposed to be the latest version. All I can see on net is, I have to root the phone and copy the fonts.. but I also read that rooting will void the warranty, so I don know if thats risky. on top of it, I am not sure how to root my HTC one X and how safe it is. Can someone help me with how to root my HTC one X ? I am in india and I bought this here in india, is there a different version of One X here or its the same ? Can someone help pls ?? All I want is to read kannada on my HTC one X.. SOMEONE PLS HELP !
do not bother rooting for now. enjoy your phone as it is. just have a look on play store for an app called fontomizer.
EDIT: my bad that is only for samsung galaxy phones
have a look at this link i will give you and have a search what might be suited for you

Hello Venky, One X should soon get JellyBean update which has native kannada support. See the below screenshots of Jellybean rom.
In the meanwhile use Opera mini browser, follow the Opera mini section from the below website.

Hey guys, i would like to know how to pick the right kernel for a specific Rom.
My goal is to Root and flash my Galaxy nexus (4.3 Stock) Running on the Videotron.com Carrier (I would suppose its GSM, i have a simcard) with paranoid android, and franco kernel.
My questions are as follows,
1- Are Franco kernel and paranoid android compatible?
2- Will it really help me on Ram and Battery life.
3- Can someone please explain to me how to pick the right firmware, the right kernel, and google apps version.
This is my 3rd android phone, and i always needed help with this, but i would like to learn it myself. (i am not a pc noob, i just never played with phones)
This is my phone right now

By the way, i am willing to donate when it gets done.
1. You have to use the correct version of any kernel that matches your OS version. So if you are on 4.3 use any 4.3 kernel.
2. Custom kernels usually help with battery life but you will have to try many different kernels to see which is best for you.
3. Like I said in answer no. 1 everything should match the OS you are on. If you are on 4.3 then you will need to use a kernel that is for 4.3 and gapps that are for 4.3, if you on 4.2.2 then use 4.2.2 kernel/gapps.
PS- I am not sure what you mean by "donating when it gets done" but feel free to donate to our great devs

Hi,
I have a GNex from videotron. Rooted it 20 minutes after getting it from videotron store
Yes, it's a gsm. The model is maguro.
I was on paranoidandroid 3 weeks ago and it really cool.
You need to download their rom from the dev section. There is a link to download gapps in the same thread.
If you want to keep it simple, no need to flash any kernel. Stock PA kernel is fine.
Happy flashing

I have a galaxy s3 rooted with cm11 and cm cwm based recovery and I want to download magic 2014 directly from the play store yet I will not let me install it and I know it is compatible. Is there a way I can disguise my device from the play store as another so I can download it?

Change the build.prop. "d2spr" is the identifier for the S3 , there are three instances that you have to change. Change them all to "klte".

There are three. If you changed three then you changed them all. Go into Application Manager, then All, then Google Play Store, then wipe data and try downloading again.

the D2LTE is literally all US s3's cause all of them have LTE and it was easier to develop for them as a unified branch as apposed to the D2SPR or D2BST/D2VMU, D2VZW the list goes on and what will work fro you phone is to see what Carrier you have ie Sprint/Boost or what ever it may be....but if only D2LTE works for your S3 then.....i have no idea but as ryan said change what's in your Build Prop
I have and it is refusing to work.

This is the reason I no longer develop for AOSP, the simplest stuff just doesn't work and other devs don't take the time to do bug fixes because they are doing multiple devices that they don't even have. Sorry for the rant.

Hello
I bought a refurbished 64GB Red HTC 10 off eBay. It came with Android 7. OTA says there are no updates available. When I enter download mode I see that the bootloader is LOCKED + S-OFF (guess they paid 25$ to get it S-OFF?) + CID 1111111
OTA doesn't work because CID is set to 1111111? As far I am aware S-OFF and OTA work together.

How can I flash my phone safely to the latest stock, just like my main silver htc 10? there is any custom from that's better than the latest Oreo stock?
Thank you very much!
EDIT: I just realized they have sent me HTC 10 lifestyle instead of HTC 10!
I suggest you return the phone, as the ROMs for HTC 10 might not work properlyon your HTC 10 Lifestyle.
(P.S. It might be possible to flash with HTC 10 though since it is S-Off, but its not recommended.)

As far as I know, there are no furthur updates than Android 7 for HTC 10 Lifestyle.
yes, I know.
I suspect the model shows only "htc 10" because they flashed the wrong from...
Here is what you should do. Install CPU-Z adn Aida64 apps, and share screenshots of system details. That would tell what Soc is there, how much RAM, etc. The model would be confirmed then.

Already done that. the seller wanted a photo of the settings that shows the model that's why I thought flashing stock but you're right that is enough I shouldn't waste time on it

Where is it reporting as SD1A.210817.015.A4? In Settings/About? Any other details such as what country you're in and what carrier you're using? Anything else you can tell us - are you rooted or applied OTA or factory image manually?

Are you using a custom kernel?
Can you check the hash of the full .017 firmware zip you downloaded and compare it to the hash shown on the website? (I check it after every time I download a full image zip, or an OTA zip)
minus case insens they match

It was always my impression to use the one that makes sense for the region and carrier you use, i.e. US Carrier, but at least one knowledgeable person in the P6P section said the A1 is the correct one. I haven't had problems with the US Carrier one on AT&T (.017). My wife's phone isn't rooted and she hasn't gotten the December OTA. I mainly leave well enough alone on her phones since some things I've done on all her old phones (which is always the same phone as what I have, to make it easier for me to give her tech support) have given her unwanted surprises.
Oh yeah - you could always try the Official Google Android Flash Tool and see if you get any different results.
so is the 16.a1 correct or 17 for us carriers?

I don't have any better answer than my reply #12. Since the .017 says "US Carriers" on the page with the list of firmware, that's the one I use.
