Note 2 slow charging - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys..I bought this phone a couple day ago..And everything was great..He was charging very fast, but this morning i woke up and he was on 15%..And he is charging about 1% in couple minutes..Why? :S
I use search but :S

SamsungĀ“s USB cable die very often. Try another original cable

Are you using the original charger? It's a big battery and needs a powerful charger, at least 2Ah(like the original).

Check with Galaxy Charging. Should be 1600-1800mA average. Lower than that the cable might be faulty.
Use 5-pin micro USB cable, 4-pin often causes problems.

I found 5-pin cable in the house so i will try it..And one more question,i don't wan't to open another thread..
I have 4.1.2 official..I bought this phone couple days ago..And i don't have upgrade to 4.3 :S I saw that there is official 4.4 for Note 2?

You can fix this, not too safe but I use it all the time and works.
You need your phone to be rooted of course,
If you are on TouchWiz ROM, install Nadia kernel (found in original android development section) or AGNi kernel If on aosp
Then download trickster mod for kernel options, go to charging control and enable "ignore unstable power detection" and apply .
This way you should charge at fastest possible.
And yes there is 4.4.2 official ..
if you don't want to root or do any of my things, you need to get better cable/charging place, etc.

Hi, I'm the developer of the widget and patches (and IncrediControl) for a number of devices. If there is enough interest I'm more than willing to create a patch for the desire.
For those of you who don't know, the patch/widget allow you to force AC charge mode at will so things like car chargers that are incorrectly detected as USB (and thus are limited to 500mA charge rate) can charge at the rate that the adapter can put out (~1A).
I was under the impression you guys had some kind of usb fast charge already, but if that's not the case I'm more than willing to make a patch.
Yes please I'm willing to b tester

Hello chad0989,
I have seen many posts about your patch and how handy it is,
I do wonder if this can be implemented in any way on the HTC One X ?
It is so very fustrating to have bought a in car adapter that can output 2.1 amps, yet be stuck on the cursed usb charging trickle, lol.....
The two kernels I am curious about would be the:

I would happily test anything you could throw our way on this mate
cheers.
Hi Chad,
I too would be very very interested in a fastcharge kernal for the one x, I have the touchstone mod on my phone but USB charging is killing me lol. Happy to help in way I can.

I did that, I also restored my kernel wiped the system and it is not even recognized by the computer anymore...
Mine did that the other day when I switched from rooted stock JB to CM10 preview builds.
I don't believe there is any correlation there, or that it's a software issue at all.
I blew out my USB port with compressed air at 90 psi; it works again.

is the port bent? try plugging it in and press slightly up from the underside of the cable.
USB port failing, common issue with Samsung phones. Changing ROMs/kernels won't help.
Oddly enough I took the battery out for an extended period and then I put it back in and now all works fine...should I look into getting a new phone do you think?:silly:
I noticed this happening to my wifes SGS2.. the way you fixed it is the exact thing that fixed hers... So I don't think a replacement will help much.

[Q] charging question??!!

I have noticed since I had my HTC one way before rooted it always had a stupid charging problem.. Is there any patch, ROM anything that will allow any charger to charge phone at normal speeds? I hate looking for factory charger every time and also slow charge in my truck... Any options out there??

There's custom kernels that you can flash where you can force enable fast charge. This will always have your phone charge fast.

No, so far we have kernels for 4.2.2 ROMs and then one for the EclipticOne 4.4/Sense 5.5 ROM. If I'm missing any, hopefully someone else will chime in.
Here's the thread with the 4.2.2 kernels (4.3 kernel should be coming soon to use with 4.3 ROMs):

That's the one thing I miss most from my s4. I sold it to get the HTC one last week, but I miss the 2 hour charge time. Buuut I love 4.4 too much so no fast charge option for me. Worth it though.

Any fixes on charging.??

Any fix on charging ?? Very slow
Check ur hardware. New kernels seem to have fixed slow charge times.

What you running? Try different wire and adapter or hit best buy and buy a charger that does over 2amps

I just got my G3 yesterday and it didn't take long at all to charge with the stock charger. Roughly 45 minutes from around 30%

Best ROM for Tab S 10.5" SM-T805 (WiFi+4G)

Been looking around, but seems most development is for the 8.4" variant. Whats the best ROM for Tab S 10.5" SM-T805 (WiFi+4G). Is there any you would recommend> Preferably on 5.1+ already?
It's not prudent to ask nor is it possible to answer such a question.
The best Rom is the Rom that suits you. Do you want a stock experience, aosp, cm?
However from my experience and probably the most active stock at the moment is Iron Rom.
Having said that there are other good roms out there, you need to try them out for yourself.
All you need do is read the associated threads and make your own mind up.
I'm on IronRom, but the recharging is so stupidly slow. Any way to change charge rates?

I don't have the slow charging issue that I've seen, but I've seen a couple of people in the IronRom thread recommend replacing the Busybox version with Busybox on Rails from the Play store to solve it. Only passing on info, haven't tried it.

How is busy box affecting charging times? :what:
Have you checked your charging plug ampage? Make sure you're either using the original plug, or one that has 2000mA rating.
