Has anyone experienced problems when connecting to pptp vpn servers? I have Z1 next to Note 3 Neo and have no problems when connecting to VPN but with Neo it tries to connect and fails after one second. I have tried to use different connections, few locations and hosts. Same exact problem.

Hello. I have xperia neo for 1 week. It is great phone and great upgrade from my X8 but i see a strange wifi problem. My firmware is latest version - 4.0.A.2.368.
At my home phone connects fine to my wireless network and everything is stable. I do not see any disconnects, reboots or other problems. My router is linksys wrt320N and i connect at wireless N speed - 72Mbps.
When i try to connect to the wireless N network at my office the phone connects fine but i do not have internet access. I have IP assigned by the router, network is shown as connected but i do not have connectivity. I tried with 3 different browsers and with the market and nothing connects. At the same time i can connect with my laptop to the same network and i have internet. My colleagues with other phones also connect and have internet.
I tried setting static IP address on the phone but this did not help. I read that if i set static IP in router's settings assigned to the mac address of the phone this will help. Unfortunately i can not test this because i do not have access to router's settings. Also at my home i did not make such settings and everything is working fine.
Previously i have seen this problem with my X8 and the same work wifi network but it was not always present. It was present with some custom firmwares and not with others.
If you have any ideas or have seen this problem please help.
Having the same device from Globul I never had such problems for the 2 weeks I'm using it. I had some disconnects but i put the blame on my router.
if you can try changing the wifi channels
I think I've found the issue (by facing by myself)
The version neo is shippe (2.3.2) has a serious bug on AES encription.
Actually only the upgrade to 2.3.3 (no clue about upcoming 2.3.4) can fix the WPA/AES issue.
So the actual solutions are:
or change your wifi securty to WEP, updathe the phone via OTA
or use the Windows Software and update to 2.3.3.
Please note that if you use the Control Power widget it has been removed in 2.3.3
This was my problem when I had just bought my Arc.My phone couldn't surf the internet with my personal wifi network although I tried to use many browsers and also Android market. Then I reset and reinstalled my router, everything works well ^^
Ask your office IT staff to do a simple power cycle on the router and try connecting again. That may solve the problem.
I am having issues connecting to wireless using my Galaxy Nexus. I have tried connecting to 3 different WPA2 networks with the same results. All are configured to use WPA2. Each time, I get the following series of events that show up underneath the SSID:
- Authenticating
- Saved
- Connecting
- Authenticating
- Authentication problem
I haven't tried fiddling with the settings of my home or mobile hotspot as I feel it should connect to WPA2 without any problems. Any suggestions?
Are you trying to connect to a 2.4 or 5Ghz?
I was experiencing something similar but only when trying to connect to 5Ghz.
I solved the problem by switching security from WPA2-TKIP to WPA2-AES.

To be honest, I am not sure if its 5GHz or not. I would assume my Nexus One would be broadcasting on the 2.5GHz frequency, but I could be wrong. I'll check when I get home and test that setting change.
Hi folks,
I have problems getting a VPN connection connected to a Fritzbox 7390.
Before I switched to the Galaxy S4 Mini I had a Galaxy S2 running being able to connect to my home router via VPN.
Now it is not possible to connect wit the S4 Mini?
Due to the fact that the S2 is running I think the S4 Mini has a problem here.
My S4 Mini Details:
- Rooted with RootKit V2.0
- Android 4.2.2
- Build: XXUAMG8
I also do not get any feedback from the device why the VPN connection is not getting established.
Does anybody has the VPN connection up and running?
Or does anybody experience the problem? Any solutions?
Thanks in advance,
NoFear
Did you try it on your S2 recently?
My telco here in Singapore denies all VPN connections when connected via the default 3G APN. But when you change the APN to the one used by 3G dongles for PCs, VPN connections magically work.
Not sure if its the case for your telco (could be a recent implementation) - you could try calling up your telco to confirm!

I used the Fritzbox VPN on my old phones, just remember that it needed a patch for the vpn to work, since the fritzbox has it's on special connections. Maybe that is not within your S4 version?
Sorry to just have a hint, but now using OpenVPN.

Yes i have a VPN connection from the s4 mini DUOS to fritzbox 7390 no problem.
No patch or something needed (android 4.0 or higher) - just select "IPSec Xauth PSK" and it will work.
Search at google and you will find instructions directly from AVM for VPN connection from fritzbox to an android device.

I setup an OpenVPN Server on my synology NAS being able to connect to my Home Network again.
No ideas wha the bulit-in vpn does not work for the S4 Mini but for my old S2.
Thanks for this advice
Okay so I have two issues that are very very weird.
1. When I pair my Samsung Gear s2 via bluetooth to my phone, it pairs and works just fine. Except atleast once an hour, it will vibrate twice and the phone will tell me the gear s2 was disconnected. It reconnects immediately.
I also noticed (only once so far since you gotta watch the road) that my phone disconnected from my cars bluetooth for a second and then immediately connected back.
My Zenwatch 3 seems to have no issues (or atleast isn't notifying me when it disconnects)
2. I recently got a nice Dlink router. I installed DD-Wrt on it. Now this router has two 5GHz AP's and one 2.4GHz AP. My Oneplus 3 can connect to NONE of them. It sees the 2.4ghz one will never succesfully connect. It gets passed auth and messes up somewhere around obtaining IP address. It connects to my Netgear router just fine.
My Oneplus One is able to see the 2.4GHz network and connect to it and my friends devices are able to see 5GHz and connect to it. My phone isn't...
Some specifics
Oneplus 3 Oxygen OS 3.2.8
I have root/xposed/gravity box and the likes although I'm not sure that would make a difference.
Problematic watch is a Samsung Gear S2.
Router is a DLink AC3200 with DD-WRT
Any other info I should give?
Hey guys,
since years I have an unchanged WiFi setup at home, including 2 routers FritzBox (server and client, all connected via LAN) and a WiFi repeater (also connected via LAN).
I am having same passwords and same SSIDs on all of them. The server FritzBox is in the celler, the client FritzBox on ground floor and the WiFi Repeater on the 2nd floor. So we re living in a bigger house, as you can see.
Usually our cell phones are connecting from one device to another (server, client, repeater) when walking around depending on best signal. So a simple WiFi Roaming setup.
This was working with my old S20FE, is currently working with my wife's S21 Ultra and was also working with my Fold 4. A few days back I ve realized, that it stopped working on my Fold 4. Apparently I can say, it happened after the last android patch update from January.
When chaning to the stronger wifi (for example from server to client), its showing me no internet connectivity. But the client is having connectivity for sure, as my wife's S21 Ulta works and 2 other devices, connected to LAN port of the client are working as well.
When disabling/enabling wifi on the FOld 4, the connection is there. Walking around further the vice verca direction, same issue occurs.
Does someone else of you experiencing issues while using WiFi Roaming with your Fold 4?
Thanks and BR from Germany!
