Hello everyone, I'm not a noob, I'm not saying this to show off, but I'm not by any ways, I'd like anyone here that knows enough about this to give a quick answer to my question. What's the state of the roms based on the ones mentioned in the title, it's not that I don't want or know how to check, but I work from Monday to Saturday all day so I don't have much time to test stuff even though I love to. The only thing I wanted to know was basically what are the known bugs etc. Thanks in advance!

FYI, I am on Sprint.
For Sense ROMs i like Viper (not much bugs that I can find), for AOSP I like Liquid Smooth (tons of features, but drops to 3G and stays there unless you toggle Airplane mode. I believe a lot of AOSP ROMs have this issue.), for CM I like Gummy ROM.
But, I have only been testing out ROMs for 3 weeks or so now.
Anyone else wants to give me any more recommendations? Or tell me what the bugs are atm on AOSP or cm based roms? Thanks

The biggest bug I've seen is most/all aosp speakerphone mics don't work, as in you can talk on speakerphone but they won't hear you. In PA I had a bug where I couldn't search chrome properly, and I've seen a few bugs with themes, but that's all I can think of if you stick to the big names (CM, AOKP, LS, PA). Personally using CM11 nightly with furnace kernel with fantastic results. Hope this helps!

Thank you (pressed thanks already)
Thank you too
One of the major bugs with AOSP was encryption of data. It "encrypted" the phone itself and asked for password so that nobody could get in. Apparently it was fixed but I still see some threads where people complain about receiving this prompt for password in the AOSP ROMs they flashed.
This was the thread with the fix for the problem. [FIX] Data Encryption Problem AOSP Roms
Here a user posted a summary about the status of CM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53953807
Kinda disappointed to hear that duo camera doesn't work...even though it was to be expected. (I guess that's the case on all AOSP roms)

In my previous life with my TouchPro2, I used the AOSP roms and they worked well. With my Galaxy S II / D710, I've only used the Sprint based ROMs.. including the latest FC07.
I haven't found any posts comparing the AOKP ROM (which, unless I'm mistaken is based off of AOSP) to these Sprint ROMs..
Are there any major differences or anything that the AOKP ROMs will not do?
I'd be curious to hear opinions from people who have tried both and why they ended up with one over the other.
thx
Just to clarify, they're not "Sprint ROM's", they're called "Touchwiz ROM's". The Touchwiz UI is added on top of Android by Samsung then Sprint adds some apps and there you have it. Now I shall let someone who has experience with AOKP answer better for you since I do not have any experience with AOKP yet.
To be quite honest, there's nothing that one can do that the other probably cant. AOKP and AOSP tend to have more things built into the ROM itself like overclocking, etc.
But in the end, no, there's nothing I can think of that one can do that the other can't. There may be something out there, but I've not come across it yet. I've used both, and I prefer somethings about each.

There are some things like cm7 you could use Wii mote with the Bluetooth stack and could not on touch wuz....aokp is cm 9 on steroids..... Lots more customizable

I haven't tried an AOKP rom but I'm assuming it's very similar to an AOSP rom. I personally think an AOSP rom as a lot less bloat, and right out of the box it's very customizable, but I switched back to a touchwiz rom because I think the samsung camera app is one of the best camera apps out there, plus I think touchwiz runs a lot better on our phones.
Aside from a few "bugs" here and there with the FCxx roms that they are basing the AOKP roms off of, there are only a few faults. One I keep on running into is the Netflix problem. Hell, aside from getting sick of trolling this place for over a year combined with my Streak 7 and my E4GT, I had to try and get in on the action with FC and FB "leaks", CM9, AOKP, and other 2.3 based rom fun.
But seriously, the only problem I have keeping me from making AOKP a daily driver is the Netflix problems. I need my netflix for work.

And I learn something new every day.
As a side note: I like AOKP because of pink unicorns.
I'm presently looking for a CM10 Jelly Bean ROM that has the least bugs.I am travelling soon and need a solid ROM so it doesn't give out randomly.
List of AOKP/CM10 JB Links:
1) task650 and Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684.
This one I tried about three weeks ago, was way too buggy. I switched. There`s many more bug releases though, so is this a viable option as an everyday driver?
2) cyanogen: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778270
This one so far has worked best for me, but there`s still quite a few bugs that bother me, but I could use it if needed. I just need a stable daily driver.
3) krarvind: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865262
I`ve never tried this one, was just released today. Any input on lag, glitches, bugs, etc please let me know.
Firstly, I`d like to thank you for the support. I have have two more questions.
Which Jelly Bean kernel is currently the most stable?
Currently for CM10 there are two kernels released, as far as I know.
The first being again, by Ktoonsez: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756776
The second is the faux123 kernel. This is the one I think I should personally use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1785472
Thank you all in advanced, I would really appreciate the help!

You are going to end up with nothing but opinions here. You need to try each and see if they work for you. No one uses their phone exactly the way you do so can't tell you which bugs YOU may find and which ones you can live with. Best ROM threads are bull**** and should not be asked. Read the OPs of each and decide which is best for you!

Not being a ****. Not being rude.
Just putting in my 2 cents.
If you need something 100 percent stable. That is going to perform. And you do not have 100 percent access to a computer or w.e to access with your phone for Odin in case things go haywire. Stock is the best most stable thing out there.
But. Like the above user said. Its all a matter of opinions. No facts. But I would say ktoons AOKP atm for most stable.

what rom do you use?
btw i was in FL last week and went to coco beach.. that place was sweet
They all have small bugs here and there. If you can live with those particular bugs, then all are pretty much daily drivers.
IMO, the CM9 based AOKP by Task/Ktoonsez is 98% bug free.
Biggest issue is flakey vibration when typing. Sometimes it vibrates, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it vibrates softly.
Otherwise it's almost on par with a stock ROM bug-wise. I wish we could get someone to fix the vibration issue. It's an amazing freakin ROM otherwise. Best I've ever used.
And, it's just as fast/smooth as JB with the same (IMO) battery performance when used with Ktoonsez AOSP kernel.
I keep trying CM10 and JB AOKP and keep going back to ICS AOKP. But JB is getting close!
EDIT:
I should mention that I always use 3rd party camera, phone, gallery and SMS apps. So if ICS AOKP has issues with those apps, I don't know about it because I don't use them.
So my upgrade is coming up on November 1st, and I will be looking into getting a new phone in the near future, and I am finally done waiting for this ICS update that isn't coming from HTC. I was wondering if there are any fully functioning roms for the Incredible 2, or if anyone can tell me the one that is closest to fully working. Of course looking for something ICS or above and appreciate any suggestions on where I should begin...

I have not tried Psycho's CM9 Global yet, but I hear it is pretty much fully functional except for the FFC is upside down or something...I have tried their CM10 Global and it is a smooth running rom, just a couple of little bugs they are working out. Mimicry CM9 based rom is almost fully functional...only thing not working that I know for sure is the FFC. Those are the only roms I have tried recently. I have also read that the Viper Sense rom is pretty good too, but it is Sense 4. I prefer the Paranoid Android, but there are some camera issues with it and a couple of other small bugs that don't affect me that much so I never notice them. Other than that I am out of suggestions, I have not tried UKB, MIUI, or any of the other roms that I hear are great roms.

I started with aeroevan's CM9 ROM and it was terribly slow and pretty buggy. I had to reboot it at least once a day. I'm now running Psycho's CM10 Global and it's actually been really great, aside from the nonfunctional FFC, graphic tearing with Chrome, and unstable Bluetooth. Also, the CM10 Global ROM has an issue where after locking the phone it will take 1-2 seconds before allowing you to unlock again.

IC Tazz has been flawless for me. I tried CM9 and CM10 for a few weeks, they work pretty good but are not 100%.
I'm using the new viper Rom. In the past I've always preferred sense tho. Viper is nice. But I prefer my own non sense widgets. So my phone basically looks the same as it did when running cm10. So I'm not sure what the point of staying on viper. Must say battery life is impressive, especially for a sense Rom. Battery life was one reason why I hated sense. But then my phone doesn't really look like sense anyways since I'm using all the same widgets as I did w aosp. *confused*

Haha, I can understand that. I've only been around this one for the past few months. Seriously, thanks for the reminder. I won't forget next time haha
for an ics rom, i gotta say viper sense is the most bug-free. both the ffc camera and rear cameras work fine, and you can shoot fine in 720p HD recording, a problem with many other roms.
this was one of the main problems i had with most CM's and aosp roms was that the stock camera sucked. it didnt even compare to the sense camera and pictures looked they were taken with a basic phone. the viper sense camera was great, maybe even better than stock.
as for bugs, i think the only thing was that taking a picture while recording didnt work, i dont think its supposed to though cuz the inc2 isnt designed for it? also for some reason after a reboot it changed from cdma to gsm, and i think the only way to change that it running the aroma installer again.
I'm no expert or developer but there is quite a few Roms that I have found a pretty stable that could be used as a daily driver with no problem. If you're not rooted I recommend trying it and giving some Roms a test run and seeing what you like before ditching your inc2 its a whole new experience.

Fully functional eh? Both dkstunna and Aerovans cm9 & 10 both run nicely. Just have to make some changes depending on your carrier but youll find the solutions by reading the threads. But don't forget most roms are like that woman in the red light district. She's pretty and fun and can do a lot but there is also something under that skirt that is fully functional.

It's been a pretty solid experience for a few months now.
Condemned Sense's Stock Build Odexed.
Depends on your definition of "fully-functional." For me that means everything that the stock ROM has including FFC, rotating softkeys, 720P camcorder, wifi-tethering, etc. Most of the ROMS listed (excluding stock ROMS) so far have issues with at least one of these things. I don't consider a mentality of "living with minor bugs" consistent with "fully-functional."
Personally my list would include:
- any of the the "standard" Sense 2.1 Gingerbread ROMs like GingerSense, SkyRaider Zeus, etc. (they all use the official 2.65 kernel specifically built for GB)
- Arctic Ascension 2.02 (aka IC Tazz 3.6) - Sense 3.6 using the leaked Chinese v3.x OTA kernel - everything including the stuff I mentioned works on it. It even includes features not even the stock ROM has such as automatic 3G switching when sending and receiving MMS messages.
Try CM 7.2, it was the first rom i flashed. the battery life is extraordinary and it runs fast like hell! only problem is its a bit old fashioned.
I'm currently running ViperSense 1.1, but its just slightly slow because its using a stock kernel
Thanks everyone for taking the time to give me this information. I have been busy but plan to look into these very soon! Much appreciation!
Miui 1.12.9 with Aerovan's 0.7 CFS kernel.

They're both pretty similar in my opinion at the current time but I think Eclipse might be getting more customization soon, the NOS version hasn't been updated for a while and I think I saw he might be waiting till it can be updated to 4.3 so depends on how much customization you want I suppose.

I don't touch AOSP ROMs, just never liked them on a phone with such great software, Sense 5 is really nice upgrade from 4.1+ which I wasn't a huge fan of many things.
Reading the OP of a ROM though does wonders...

I have tried both, but Eclipse had several issues on my phone. I don't really like the inverted apps, but I didn't mind. The straw that broke the camel's back was when my messaging app just disappeared after a random reboot. I'm on NOS now, with no problems.

I tried both of them yesterday. With Eclipse and NOS I was getting horrible data connection which seems to be the norm with alot of the Roms so far since it's still fairly early with development for the VZW One. Eclipse had more problems than NOS. It was constantly switching me to WCDMA and even using the LTE Toggle app wasn't correcting the issue. This got annoying quick. Every Rom I've tried so far has been pretty bad with data, except for Andy's BoneStock Rom.
Just gotta be patient though, soon there will be stable versions popping up everywhere.
Gonna stick with Bonestock for now

I'll second that. Battery life is not bad at all. But battery life on sense seems to be better. I haven't had any problems with data whatsoever.
I've recently replaced my S5 with an M8 and flashed CyanogenMod 11. Like others have said, the volume pushes the speakers much too loud, to the point of distortion, and possible damage. I use CM on all my devices, which is why I traded my Verizon (bootloader locked) S5 for an M8 I could unlock with Firewater. I don't have experience with other ROMs on this device, but was wondering if either AOKP, or PAC also had this issue, as it seems the CM team is unaware of it, so I may need to run another ROM as an alternative...

I don't have experience with other ROMs on this device, but was wondering if either AOKP, or PAC also had this issue, as it seems the CM team is unaware of it, so I may need to run another ROM as an alternative...

If its based off of cm (which those are), then it probably has the same issue. I'd recommend a gpe ROM while the issue gets sorted out, and keep track of the progress via the ROM threads or the ROM commits.
Well, I was hoping maybe the AOKP, Paranoid, or PAC team noticed the issue in the CM code and fixed it themselves. I prefer AOSP builds with customization, such as these ROMs, over Sense or vanilla Android. So I'm hoping at least one runs fine on this phone :-/

AOSP is buggy as hell on anything not Nexus related so I wouldn't even bother. It's no wonder CM got into bed with Xiomi or whoever it was because aside from Nexus devices, none of the AOSP roms are stable enough for me.
With the M8 you won't need to worry about optimisation / speed because the sense ROM's and GPE roms have no lag like you get in touchwiz roms and the RAM is managed flawlessly imo.
Try Viper for more tweaks than AOSP, and remove sense. IMHO or keep sense and install a launcher.
It's to do with kernel level audio gain hack AOSP started in Gingerbread back in the Desire days. It affects many - they never made a solution.
Ask them for a kernel without any audio gain hacks.

They need to fix this, it's still and issue 2 weeks later.

Same exact problem. I want them to fix this so bad because everything else is perfect.
