http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53341869

So after a few hairpulling days I got the phone back up and running now im trying to get my sisters to the same rom using what i have learned .
I can get it up and running with the file from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53353625
Now I can do 4.4.2, but i cant seem to go back down to 4.1 and load the slim rom I wanted to load.
Tried a file called mc2 stock with counter reset and it just goes through the motions, comes up to the fake splash, says scared you , finishes this step and reboots, to infinite load, no boot loop, just hours and hours of nothing.
I can go back to 4.4.2 but thats all I can get out of it.
I am trying to put the same version on this phone due to the battery life and such that the first one has. 2 identical phones, same revision and all.
SlimRom_Build_7.8_7.28_ODEXED.zip from http://www.teamvenum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?nomobile=1&f=50&t=2008
Could not find the origianl xda thread that lead there sorry for post outside link i know it was here, thats how i found it, just cant find it now.
What have I possiblly overlooked?

bump, still need help. anyone got any advice

I got it, I finally got stock a rom to load via Odin but it was getting stuck on the Samsung screen so I rooted it before it even let me in. Then i did a wipe and it started up and now all is well stock 4.3 rooted. This reminded me why i always choose stock rooted roms

[Q] Stuck at boot when updating to KK

Hello everyone, this is my first post and pretty much a cry for help.
So I'm not new to the whole rooting scene, as I did many things on my old S3, but I'm having a bit of trouble with my note 3.
I had rooted my device about a week after I got it to remove some bloatware. Flashed some ROMs to try out but ended up back on stock firmware which removed root but didn't really care. Tried to update yesterday and got the whole "you're device has been modified" thing. So I rooted again and downloaded xposed installer and that app to fake system to not get that message. Everything seemed fine, got the update and started downloading. Once it finished downloading and tried updating, I got a failed to update message then back to home screen. Went on some forums and read Kies was working for people who had rooted phones. Tested that out and started working. Download went fine, it started updating, all was good. Said update was complete and it was restarting..... Let the fun begin.
About 10 minutes later (I waited this long because I've flashed plenty of ROMs and I know the initial boot can take forever) and it was stuck at Samsung boot logo. On the top left there was a blue message saying "Recovery Rebooting." I restarted again, same thing. Did a battery pull waited a few minutes and still nothing. Wouldn't go into recovery mode, but it did go into download mode. Assumed something was wrong with the recovery so I flashed a custom one. Finally was able to go into recovery so I did factory reset/cache and rebooted. Phone was still stuck at boot logo but this time no blue message. I then found the 4.4.2 KK md5 file online so I flashed that through Odin but same story. Ended up flashing back to stock 4.3 and that's where I'm at now.
Any ideas? Am I stuck without KK forever? The only thing I think there's left to do is go completely stock by removing the Knox counter or whatever that's currently set to 0x1 on my phone. Doing the whole "Triangle away" thing but idk if that'll make a difference.
Sorry for the really long post but I'd prefer to explain everything I've tried so far.
You might have had a bad download from the odin.tar.md5 file redownload and flash again i have heard other pwople say they had to flash it 2 times for it to take and once u do the update to 4.4.2 you cannot revert back to 4.3

I thought rooted phones weren't allowed to update via Kies or OTA.

I guess I'll try to download it again and see if that works. Do you know if that's through Kies or through manually downloading it then using Odin?

Well it seemed to update for me. At least the verification process went through. I used Wanam Xposed and had the fake system status thing checked. Either way something went wrong and didn't finish the updating process and got stuck at boot logo with no recovery options.
The OTA update did not work though. I was able to get the update downloading after Wanam, but once the download finished, the update failed before trying to install. Did not try OTA again though I just went to Kies, then Odin. But all 3 methods failed.

[Q] Possible Brick N7100- please help

Hello guys
I just want to say i'm no where near an expert on this, and i feel i have tried to fix this issue but made it way worse in the process so please be gentle.
This morning i woke to my Samsung Note 2 N7100 just hanging on the samsung start up screen. Tried all the normal things, taking bat out, restarting many times etc. No luck, just kept hitting the samsung screen and freezing.
After some goggling i found my way to the Recovery screen (power+vol up+home) but when it was loading there was a lot of Red Error messages. It loaded the options screen and i tried to do a factory reset. A lot more error messages to basically then say failed. Tired it a few times and even tried to clear the cache but kept failing.
So i tried loading it into Kies, which didn't connect to the phone so i couldn't reinstall the software.
So i decided maybe i need to flash the phone. I downloaded a stock Rom for the phone (i was on Kitkat so found that version) Used odin and half way through the install it came up failed.
Since then the phone only displays the "Fireware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies"
So i went back to Kies but still couldn't find the phone. It also won't let me go back into recovery mode, only into download mode.
I thought maybe i'd give the flashing another go but this time when i flashed it, it just hangs trying to find Pit but eventually fails saying no Pit.
From research it appears that the partition is buggered. All the research i've done seems to say stay away from messing with the partition. some people say its Emmc thats gone and its game over but others say there is hope still.
I can still access the Download menu and the product name is still GTn7100, Binary still samsung official so i am holding out hope there is some life left in it. I'm on my last legs now so open to all offers for solutions. Please assist if you can
Thank you in advance
Andy
If you're able to get in download mode.. Maybe try flashing a custom recovery (TWRP) which you could try full format in it then install a ROM using it.. Also, maybe trying to use a CM based one? Though you might need a external SD card to move files from PC to your phone.
I don't know if this would work, but try it.

[Q] my phone isn't booting up all the way

For some reason my phone isn't booting up all the way to the rom/OS. It gets stuck on the boot animation and goes on forever and hasn't been able to boot up since yesterday, when my powered off at 20% battery, which is something normal for my phone. I was rooted and on android 4.3/MK4, but when I put it to charge and tried booting it back up, the phone would boot up, but would get stuck on the boot animation, going on forever. It wouldn't freeze it would just continue to play the animation. I tried removing the battery, factory wiping it, and installing a new rom, which I found out was for a different baseband. When i finished installing it it still wouldn't boot up all the way through.:crying: I then tried installing the previous rom, and still no good. After all that I installed a stock firmware using odin, hoping it would work. I installed the 4.4.2 NE2 firmware, which isn't for my phone but watching zedomax's video, he said to download the latest build date, which is what I did. Well, downloaded it and flashed it through Odin with a PASS and everything going good. Although, when it was rebooting-even after a factory and cache wipe-it still wouldn't boot up. I tried installing other firmwares aswell, but still no luck. I'm just waiting for it to finally boot up, so if anyone can help me out, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT, otherwise, anything is going to help at this point. Since I flashed the firmware, I now have a stock recovery and rom(I hope). I've been through these types of situations, but not to this point.. :crying:
It seems odds, but you may want to try a new battery. I recently went through a total disaster with my device and it ultimately was the battery. You may want to try booting with it connected to the a/c wall charger. It may give you an indication.
Have you tried the quick fix posted? My phone did the same thing when i had the stock recovery it showed error mounting efs folder. I noticed after installing clockwork that error didnt show up. It was still the same problem though. Wouldnt hurt to check it out. I got my note two from a friend who described the issue starting the same way you said happend to yours. The phone had never been rooted though. Good luck to you in trying to fix it.

Note 8 Bootloop

Hello,
So i have a note 8. its stuck in a boot loop. what i was trying to do was root it so i could use my ps3 controllers on it wirelessly..
what happened was i used odin to flash the samfail files on my phone, and now when it turns on normally it shows the samsung logo and some tech info, then it goes into command mode and says it failed to mount.
i have tried reflashing files in odin and it never works now. there are a few different problems i am having with odin. i think it has been saying the md5 is off when im using a file from sammobile to try flash back to stock. or it gets stuck at initializing, or somewhere else in the start up there. its been a couple weeks since i've really tried to figure it out.. i work too much to try get it done. but today is a day off and i would like to try get it up and going again.. i really need it working again i had my note 4.. but i just dropped it in a puddle and it messed up my battery for it..
i can not get pictures now of things going on because of my note4 turfing too.. haha uhm if i try go into the vol up, bixby, and power, its not the same as it used to be i think it changed when i was trying to flash to root it.
let me know what other kinda of info i can try figure out and hand off to you to figure out what else i can do to get it back to stock.
