Is it just me or is anyone else here really impressed with Sense 6.0? I mean theres still a lot of bloat, but the level of polish on the UI is wonderful. I feel like they have really improved since my ol' Thunderbolt!
I really like Sense 6. I prefer Stock android, but Sense is pretty good. Definitely better than Touchwiz.

I agree with this. After having a samsung device for 3 years and seeing it the same on multiple devices, I had no idea how much I was missing out on. Samsung likes to throw so much in your face. I like Sense 6's cleanness.
What roms are you guys running? I just got this phone, S-OFF'd / rooted and all that. Im actually on AT&T's network, if that makes any difference. Anything cool you could suggest for this phone in particular? Also do you know of a way besides reflashing the rom to fix blinkfeed if you removed the facebook app?
I've still got the m7 and since it updated from sense 5 to 6 it's been really buggy and slow. It's probably a different story for the m8 though :/

switched from a note 3 yesterday and I have to say that Sense is miles and miles better than touchwiz and infinitely better than it used to be back in the days of the G2 and similar phones from the period. Still adjusting to the smaller screen but that will soon pass. overall a very well designed and built phone. Hopefully they give us VoLTE soon.

I just flashed the Miui rom on my g2. It is bad ass! Has any one else tryed it? Miui with sense I think would be even better! I love the sense Widgets! Is there a way I can get sense Widgets on there now or do I have to wait for the rom to be rebuilt with sense? And if so is any one working on that yet?

Check the Vibrant forums. You'll be happy you have the G2.
And in response to the post, I haven't tried MIUI myself, but I have a friend who absolutely loves it. I like having Cyanogen just because it looks stock. I've been using the Android OS since version 1.0 with the G1, and I've grown comfortable with the layout.
see someone here try to port Touchwiz to an Incredible 2?
I know there are CM7 Skins.... but I don't want AOSP.
This should probably not be in development.
And to answer your question, yes, yes you most likely are.
The only desirable thing touchwiz has for me is the music control in notification area and omfgb has that so I'm good lol. Love to see em in the sense roms tho

TouchWiz is one of the reasons I don't use my Droid Charge...
You may in fact be alone here.. I had a Samsung Fascinate and if it wasn't for the development community I would have been completely turned off from the Droid system.. I thanked the Droid God's when my Fascinate crapped itself and I was able to get a DINC2 for a replacement.. Almost made me switch to an iPhone.. Sends chills down my spine.. $0.02 !!
its probably never gonna happen touchwiz is heavily tied into the framework much like sense is. while a few Samsung phones have a sense port they are far from fully functional. I imagine it would be the same the other way around. not saying it can't be done but I believe it would be much more trouble than its worth

I fell in love with HTC with the Eris, loved my inc1, and loving my inc2. I can only hope that HTC produces a phone in the future smaller than 4.3' screen.. Just too big for me. I'd personally like a 3.8' screen. But what can ya do. They seem to actually be getting bigger. 4.65' for a phone is just crazy to me.

Well considering the fact that the new Galaxy S2 has neon support it actually might be possible. It would have to be a full RUU type of ROM because the framework would have to be totally changed. Id say its possible though.

Its not really downgrading your phone its just a different UI. And technically Touchwiz is probably faster considering it doesnt have near the bloat and is a lot closer to AOSP than Sense is.

I've actually wondered this myself, why no one ever ports sense roms to other phones. I understand why many would not want that, but there are those who would. Is it a technical issue that prevents this? Like some sort of kernel or framework thing that prevents Sense from working on non-HTC phones.

you answered your own question lol.
It's not a simple port. It's pretty much the same reasons why cm9 AOSP AOKP isn't fully functonal.
it takes a lot of work to get bits and pieces to start working. Most Developers want clean slate ROMs that's where CM9 AOSP and AOKP comes in.
Unfortunately/fortunately for us, there isn't a developer in the t989 forum that likes sense enough to put their time and effort into porting... more like building... sense for our phone. They also don't want to risk bricking their phone.
What do you guys think of it? Personally, I prefer it to TouchWiz, but I chose the S3 because of the removable battery and the disaster that was the Evo 3D. I'm currently taking programming at school, learning Java and C# and was considering working on porting Sense 4.0 from the Evo LTE to the Sprint S3 as my first ROM. What do you guys think? Worth it or not?
Do it! Do it!!!:beer: But maybe wait till sense 4+ is on the Evo. So you'll be the greatest for porting the latest or maybe do both, I'm sure you have seen people asking for lower sense versions on newer devices. Yea, Idk why either :sly::what:

Extremely tough but isnt impossible whatsoever. I would have to say that not too many people would run it after too long due to the fact that Sense 4.0 and up has horrific multitasking compared to TW along with us having an extra GB of RAM and at the same time Sense is also configured and modified to focus on foreground apps. I own both devices and it really is a GIGANTIC difference.

Sense used to be good on evo4g. But with evo3d and lte, it's gotten so overbloated and laggy, it's not worth it.
I left the EVO LTE because of how horrible sense was.. its was way too laggy and it takes more steps to accomplish simple tasks. Just my opinion, but definitely go for porting it, nothing is wrong with flashing choices.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I just picked up the s3 a couple days ago. I had the hero, evo, 3d and lte. I was gonna flip the s3 for profit. Within 4 hours of playing with it I activated it and the s3 blows the evo out the water. Sense is great so is HTC but tw is great and Samsung is superior

I like sense but htc makes it so hard to root there phones now and once root is found they update to new bootloader. I had my evo 3d for almost a year befor I had root. My sgs3 never had to wait. So getting a sense port would be B.A. Im getting used to tw again but it still bugs the crap out of me.

Yes HTC is a little tricky. But its not impossible to root HTC devices, actually you don't even have to s off, there are other methods as well. To be honest I don't think rooted HTC phones belong to the average user. You probably have to be adb/fastboot savy if you know what I mean.

In every device (I have seen it running on) Sense UI has always been the Memory Hog: Destroyer of Batteries. It was the primary reason I invested soooo much time in rooting the OG Evo.
Other than that, it is a slick, unified, and visyally appealing UI.
If you were looking to develop it... this would be the perfect device for it: ~2gig RAM = best platform for the Hog.

It'll be in your best interest to try them out. Any of the sense roms are great (ecliptic or any nusense). You'll find people that are lean towards one or the other...it's just personal preference.
