Hello all, testing out the Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) right out of the box and I'm having issues with the camera; specifically with video. I'm taking 1080p video; however, when I play it back on my TV I'm seeing hesitation/studdering in the middle of the video. This occurs hortizonally across the center of the video and is about an inch in width.
I'm playing this on a 50 inch plasma so maybe my expectations are too high, but I didn't have this problem on my previous phone (Rezound) and am thinking that perhaps the camera is faulty.
Anyone else have this issue?

Would like opinions, on anyone here that went from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, to the Note II ? I am looking to switch soon, maybe the Nexus 4, or try something fresh like the Note II.
How was adjusting to the larger size of the Note II, over the Nexus ? Screen technology noticeably better, or just slightly ? Battery life, I assume is better on the Note II vs Nexus ?
Are you overall happy with the Note II, or want a Nexus phone again instead ?
I went from the GN to the S3 to now the Note 2. Even with the extended battery the GN had an on screen time of maybe 2.5-3 hours. The S3 was about 4 hours or so screen time. The Note 2 gets 6-8 hours on screen time. It's amazing the battery life. This is with wifi being used 75% of the time. I had no problem graduating from 4.65" to 4.8" to 5.5". Love the screen. Both the GN and the S3 are pen tile display and the Note 2 is not. It is noticeably better and more vibrant. Go to TMo and wrap your hands around one. You'll leave the store with it and a smile on your face.

I did the same. ...gnex to sgs3 to note 2. Best phone I ever owned is by far the Note 2! I do not regret my choice at all.

i upgraded from my nexus to the note about a week ago...had to get used to the size of the screen but i did...now every other phone looks small and colors look dull...i held my nexus in my hand after not touching it for a couple of days...the phone felt heavy and screen seems so tiny lol
the battery life is definitely better than the nexus and it is definitely noticeable...i must also say, i missed having an SD card slot soooo much...i am using a 16 gb card but am planning on getting a 64 gb so that space will never be an issue...with my nexus i had to constantly monitor what i kept on my phone...it sucked..if you are planning on rooting the note 2 you MUST get a decent sized SD card...some roms run up to about 1 gb and a nandroid backup can range anywhere from 2 gb to 4 gb (depending on apps)
one thing you are going to miss leaving the nexus is development...nexus will always get fast updates and have a ton of roms to choose from
the ONLY thing that i have to really get used to is carrying around such a large device..even if you get used to it, carrying such a large device over a traditional sized phone is always gonna feel different
OG SGS to NOTE 2. Imagine the shock in size and performance lol
Just in a different order, I went from the S3 to the Galaxy Nexus, to the Note 2. While I enjoyed the customizations I found on the Nexus, I don't think I need them anymore. I took about 4-5 hours and set up Go Launcher just right (borrowing a lot from Coldfustion's video on youtube) and now I can't even recognize touchwiz. There's not a single thing I miss, tbh.
I came from the nexus ... screen is alot bigger.
I also miss the some of the camera effects.
I came from the nexus too, and sometimes I find myself missing that phone . Having the option of AOSP is always nice. I really like the Holo theme over the TouchWiz theme. I don't like the colors in TouchWiz that much.
The size takes some getting used to, but once you do it's hard to get back.
What I miss the most though is the bevy of Rom choices, even though I exclusively AOKP.

I'm definitely itching for a new phone. Have the GS3 but considering Note 2 or Nexus 4. Leaning towards Note right now.

There is no comparison really. throwing a 64gb microsd card into this phone ensured this phone as cream of the crop in my book. And then I charged the phone a day and a half later, and forgot about any of the other new phones.
I came from iPhone 4 > Nexus S > Galaxy SII > Galaxy Nexus > a still shipping note II.
Every upgrade has been a happy one, and I really can't wait to get the note II and become a part of this awesome note II community

I came from the GN as well its a great phone but once you get used to the size the Note 2 is on a whole new level. Its pretty amazing I was pretty skeptical at first but I dont put the thing down. Luckily the battery life...well I don't even really think about the battery because it last forever.
Came from Galaxy Nexus (unlocked)
I came from A Nexus Like so many, But dont miss it that much. I thought with not having the latest update I would be worried its not that bad. The size for me is alot better due to having larger hands. Think about the note 2 commerical with the basketball player. Anyway I have not looked back. I even thought about the Nexus 4 but I just love the size of the note 2 . I would recommend finding a case first before buy the phone. It is VERY slippery And you may drop it before leaving the store. Happen to Me and 2 other people. Just my 2 cents.
why i went to the note 2...

I went from a Google Play Store Galaxy Nexus to my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2.
1. Size: the first few days the phone feels crazy big but after you start using it; it starts feeling like a normal phone. def not an easy one handed usable phone but thats ok with me. I notice that any 4.3" phone feels "super tiny".. my co-workers are prob sick of me saying "man, your phone's tiny!".
2. Screen looks just as good if not better than the Gnex imo. then again, i'm not screen expert or that picky. touchscreen responsiveness is excellent.
3. battery life for me is crazy awesome. i get about 20-22hrs on a charge w/these type of settings and apps running:
activesync work email w/PUSH email
gmail
facebook - sync every 3 hours
twitter - sync every 4 hours
google reader - sync every 6 hours
dropbox - autoupload photos on wifi/cell data
yahoo weather widget - update every hour
display timeout after 2mins
auto brightness
auto sync for google apps
GPS, Wifi, BT all one but not always connected to devices.
4. I LOVE MY NOTE 2! would never go back. i've been the type that usually had a android phone and a tablet.. now.. i just have my Note 2 and am very satisified w/the form factor. the S-Pen was a huge factor in my purchase too. i wanted to try replacing my outdated post-it notes w/a digital solution. i had tried to do this previously w/my Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet but it was too big, too slow and just horrible software.
Hope that helps! :highfive:
Hello, I've recently bought my Samsung Galaxy note 2.
Sometimes it has framerate issues when i try a couple of games:
Agent Dash lagged quite a lot especially when you have to turn. For some weird reasons turning off the sound almost fixed most of the lag issues.
Tried GTR HYundai didnt lag at all with all of the cars, but in GT Racing: Motor Academy Free+ if there is more than one car welcome to lag land.
RF 13 worked perfectly.
Tried Quadrant Standard mostly worked at 40-45 fps. No less than 40 and no more than 45 all the time. But the part where there is sorta of a person walking throgh the dark rooms , he stutters when he makes a turn or goes up the stairs.
And just using the phone there is a little small stutter if the next screen involves the music player.
I'd be really happy if someone could help.
Specifically bought this phone to take with me to Minnesota to see Metallica's show live and get good quality recordings both in video and audio.
As you can see in the video below, autogain or some other stupid setting caused the audio to peak out and make a crackling sound.
Now to compare, my friend was standing next to me recording with his Galaxy S7 Edge with absolutley no issues.
I went to see Black Sabbath last night and experienced the same exact issues and my buddy didnt have any once again. Seriously considering returning this phone and getting an S7 edge...
I have a Note 8 and am considering the Note 10+ for me and my wife. I was just trying to get a feel for how bad burn in is on this phone. I don't really have any on my Note 8, but my wife's Note 8 is a burn in disaster. She started getting burn in from the notification bar area within the first month of owning it and it's gotten much worse on the whole phone over the two years that she's had it.
Whenever I go to Best Buy and look at all of the Note 10 and Note 10+ that they have, I don't see any burn in but I realize that they no longer just leave the phones sitting on the home screen. They have screen savers and the demo videos that they run.
