[Q] SuperSU/Root Problems - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm not exactly new to the rooting scene nut lets just say i'm not that expert at it.
THe problem im now getting is on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2(Sgh-1317m) i had it rooted when i was on DN3 but then i wished to update
to 4.4.2, my root was gone. When I tried to re-root it via CF-Auto Root it flashes successfully no probs. But when i open SuperSU it says no SU binary installed and im not able to access root. Is there any way to get root successfully on 4.4.2 or do i have to get back to DN3.
Get back to me ASAP. :good:
Regards,
xtrmewhacker
Special Thanks To Chainfire who made rooting so damn easy!

This is my first post to XDA. I'm brand new to rooting though reasonably competent technically. Wanted to root for access to root-only apps, but wanted to wait for 4.4 in case I ended up unable to receive future updates. 4.4.2 OTA came in yesterday so I tried flashing. Used Odin to install TWRP recovery then used TWRP to load TeamEpic Root From Recovery. When done, root apps said I was not rooted. Loaded SuperSU and it said SU binary was missing and I should reroot. Found CF-Autoroot and loaded it through ODIN. Red-logo thing appeared and system recovered but apps still said no root. Loaded "Root Checker Basic" from play store and it confirmed still no root. Tried to run SuperSU but found it to be missing. Reloaded SuperSU from Play Store. As SuperSU was finishing installing, popup message said something about Root Checker wanting access. I said "grant" and then found that Boot Checker verified root access. So I'm on my way.:victory:
Suggestion to xtrmewhacker: remove SuperSU and reinstall from Play Store.

SuperSU couldn't install the latest binary? I did the same as you, install 4.4 stock, flash cf-auto root, installed supersu from play store.
Supersu then installed via normal (not twrp), disabled knox, and rebooted. Everything was fine after.

I got the same thing with cf-autoroot. I went in to philz touch and applied root there. Reboot and you should be able to dl from the market or do like I did and flash the zip version.

[Q] Problem with rooting

I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S4 and I tried rooting it using the CF-Auto-Root, but when I open SuperSU, it says "there is SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it." I decided I want to root it all the way but I can't figure this out. How do I root this phone?? Do I have to use the CyanogenMod?? Please help!!

Ok, So my question would be did you use Odin to install CF-Auto-Root? Most I've seen use it and have no problem. Odin installs it then the phone reboots and that's when a special recovery is installed and then loaded and the root process is done. After that stock recovery is again installed. Not positive but I heard there may be other methods named similiar to this that will root phones that have 4.3 and lower.
Make sure you have the version mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294005
Also. if you think for some reason that your phone maybe rooted but SuperSU isn't working right you could always go to the Play store and download Chainfire's SuperSU and then install it. If your phone was truly rooted this should fix SuperSU

M8 won't root

I had a rooted M8, however something was going wrong as it constantly rebooted. So I did a factory reset and that fixed the problem. However now it won't root for some reason. I have TWRP recovery and flashed the root file however when I do root checker it stated that I do not have root access. Anyone know what's wrong?

Have you tried flashing a different version of the root program? I assume it's SuperSU (From Chainfire) ? It still gave me root access on 1.94 I saw that he already updated to version 2.00 by now.
Perhaps try a different version and see what it does.

I used SuperSU. Should I try Super User?
Just use the normal install method from Google play. Twrp auto Installs the su binary the first time it is booted in to. Then just update super su via play store.

Root issues

Hi guys,
I rooted my UK note 2 using Odin, following the guide on here, all seemed to go well...said it had been successful, and SuperSU appeared in my apps, but root checker says I'm not rooted and SuperSU crashes...I've tried doing it again and it said it was successful.... But still have the same issue....when I try to run any app that requires root...I get an error saying SuperSU has had to close etc.....can anyone point this noob in the right direction? [emoji1]

Note 8.0 N5110 Rooting Issue

Hey guys I've been trying to root my tablet all day today. I tried using chainfires one click method with odin. SuperSU got installed but it closes as soon as it opens(I have tried going to the play store but it says SuperSU is a system app and will only let me open). I've no clue what to do at this point. Is there a way I can use odin to go back to stock? Before the 4.4.2 update or better, is there any different root method for 4.4.2?
I rooted my n5110 on 4.4.2 NE2 using Kingo. It takes awhile but worked. I had the same issue with CF-Autoroot.
Alright I'll see what happens. I'll try that
Thanks I'll post results later
Kingo just failed for root
SuperSU still doesn't even open. It closes automatically
Kingo didn't work. CF oneroot with odin didn't work. I have no clue whats going on.
I am having the exact same issue, neither CF-AutoRoot nor Kingo has been successful at getting root access...
on KOT49H N5110.XXDNE1
The thing has resisted my concentrated efforts for two evenings thus far
root with cf-autoroot and try update supersu from here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/x8cr7ytfcqxmlmc/SuperSU 2.01.apk
then launch supersu to update su binary and disable knox notification

Dude.... I don't even know what to say. You un****ed my tablet lol. Much appreciated. I did have to go into SuperSU and enable it at boot and make it install as a system app. Otherwise when I restart tablet it would keep force closing again

Use this method :
1. Flash the CF auto root via odin
2. Flash TWRP or CWM recovery via odin
3. Boot to recovery
4. Flash this : http://goo.gl/kpOHVm
5. Reboot
After that, open supersu and update binary + disable Knox.

[Q] Lost Root

Running N910PVPU4DPC1 [http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/rom-t3352832]
It's been running fine for the past month or so, then yesterday, I went to run Titanium Backup, and it said my phone no longer had root access.
---------------------------------------------
SuperSU
There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. There is a problem!
If you just upgraded to Android 5.0, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device!
---------------------------------------------
I've tried to re-root via CF-Auto-Root, it'll complete without error, but still no root access.
Anyway I can get root back without blowing out and starting from scratch?
If you have recovery just flash SuperSU itself.

Thanks for your reply SaintZ93.
Just tried that via https://download.chainfire.eu/921/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip
Uninstalled my previous version of SuperSU, booted to TWRP 3.0.2-0, no errors on install, fire up SuperSU, I get the same error message as before.
I was really hoping to get SU back with out having to go and reinstall everything. Doesn't look like it's going to work out that way.
Actually I just noticed the same thing, its quite weird, I lost root also. I had root working fine with PD1 now its gone.
I believe a security update was pushed, well at I know one was on my Sprint Note 4, and I think it auto installed that's what made me lost root.
I simply flashed supersu from TWRP and I had root again.
Don't know if this would help, but I turned off firmware updates on my phone and haven't had an issue for the last 3 days.
I think the update was pushed out on Tuesday or Wednesday because I noticed I didn't have root on Thursday.

I believe that the SuperSu that comes with that ROM is systemless, which you would need to flash SuperSu 2.68
I am in the same boat.

That worked like a f'n charm!
I uninstalled SuperSU, downloaded SuperSU 2.68 [https://download.chainfire.eu/924/SuperSU], installed via TWRP, and verified!
Thanks for all the help!

can I stall SUPERSU 2.68 with stock recovery? how?
I extracted the 2.68 zip but can I install without a custom recovery?
