Go back s-off.. lock it and then go s-on.
But for repair when locked you can leave it s-off.
Send my phone in for repair and was still s-off when i get it back.

Thank u so mutch u help.

I don't think you can go all the way back to stock.
You can load back the stock ROM but your bootloader will remain unlocked which puts you into the grey warranty area with HTC.
The development section has link to almost all stock ROMs. Check the stickies there.
so i lost all my warrenty but you can relock you bootlaoder so htc dont see it and have youre warrety back or ?

Since you are using HTCDev they have you're information logged. There is noway to relock the bootloader, at least yet. That's what, I think, everyone is scrambling for S-OFF.
You are still covered for somewhat under warranty. From reading these forums it seems that HTC will make you pay for the motherboard during any warranty claims because they say their policies state that they "cannot send you back an unlocked phone". Even though a lot of devs here feel they could relock the phone using software, that is what HTC has been quoting people.
A quick anonymous call/email to HTC should remove the confusion for you.
Here's another thread. You can go back and relock the boot loader. But it will say "relocked" not the original "locked". Not sure what HTC thinks about that.

[Q] Urgent Need to revert back to stock for warranty service

Ok so I have installed arhd and want to revert back to stock for warranty service
I made a Nandroid backup before unlocking the bootloader
Please guide me through the process
specs:-
cid-11111111
hboot-1.36
s-off
U can't get completely to stock. You have to install your main version RUU after locking the bootloader, but u will face the problem where the bootloader says 'relocked' instead of 'locked'
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
So will I be able to get warranty service or not
I don't think so dude.

Can anyone else confirm this fact?
You can easily return to stock and run any ruu because you have s-off
with s-off you can also LOCK the bootloader instead of relocked, so lock it and send it for warranty
Depends on what is the problem with Your HOX. If they need to replace Your motherboard then You gonna pay for it. HTC official policy... I'm from Poland and I sent it for repair 3 times. Everytime they needed to replace motherboard. And they did it two times even with relocked bootloader (don't know why, maybe they always repair phones with broken autorotation? common issue with hox. coz it was the case with first and second repair). 3rd time I got problem with screen backlight and bang - ~$300 . I tried contacting with HTC Poland and HTC Taiwan but same answer. If bootloader was unlocked and motherboard needs to be replaced You need to pay for it. Any other issue with any other part and they fix it for free. So hard to tell really. You may be lucky What is Your issue with HOX? You may also consider burning down the motherboard... They will not be able to tell if You had bootloader unlocked... But it's kinda cheating... I just read somewhere that some dude did it and they replaced his motherboard for free

Can you explain how to lock bootloader
I have a nandroid backup can I use that for restoring my phone
Please explain
Thanks for everyone that helped really appreciate all replies
And I just realized that putting "urgent" in my title of the thread does not mean that my question is more important than others
Any help will be appreciated
An s-off hox also can show relocked only.

[Q] Turning S-ON and removing the tampered banner?

Hi Everyone.
I'm having some difficulty returning security to on and also having the tampered banner removed. I'm hoping to send my phone back to warranty.
I've used this guide to get me through it but it left me with S-OFF http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751011
I've then tried this guide to get me back to stock with S-ON but it retriggered the tampered flag after I turned it off: http://theunlockr.com/2014/06/08/how-to-unroot-the-htc-one-m8-video/
Does anyone know if there is a way to enable security to on without triggering the tampered flag? Or if I'm doing something wrong with these steps.
Thanks for all your help in advance.
Find the appropriate RUU (If your carrier released it) and run it, it will remove the "tampered". FYI, next time dont worry about S-off so much. With S-off you could of put back on the stock recovery and relocked the bootloader and just sent it back w/ S-off, some 1% of devices mistakenly leave the factory w/ s-off.
HTC already has a record of you (based on your IMEI) unlocking the bootloader via HTCDev.com. You're going through a lot of effort to try to hide what HTC will already knows (that you modded the phone).

Htc know that just u take unlock code from them but they don't know if u use that code to unlock or not. U can just take that code and keeping for future so even if u have that code this doesn't mind u already unlock ur device. So if ur s off is always better to s on ur device for sending for repair
That just mine opinion ?

yeah, i dont even think about paying 25$ to s-off...
and i have one more problem: i got "Software status : Modified", i want it Official (Original), do i need s-off to make it ?
i was searching some threads and i found that flashing RUU can solve this problem but i can find RUU from my carrier (Plus, Poland)
Just a thought... 25 dollars to s-off could save you getting charged for your repair if they see you're "relocked" and deny your warranty. ?

i know but its a "mechanical" issue not the software so they should reapir it even bootloader is unlocked ;P but i want be sure they'll do it without any problems
is possible to make Software Status : Official from Modified ?
(S-ON)
Is 25$ s-off way , can be use multiply on my device ?
You'll need S-OFF to completely return to stock with no tampering signs.... But, if they don't send you back your same device , you would need to purchase Sunshine again unfortunately. Or stay s-on.
Sunshine license is for one device only.
If they send same unit back, yes, it will work again.
But switching back to s-on is really not necessary when you send it in. I've sent mine in with s-off and many others have without issue. But that's your call. ?

[Q] Bootloop on Locked BootLoader with S-ON

Dear Community
I have problem with my HTC one M8 from Vodafone. One day it just get stuck at bootscreen (HTC ONE). I rebooted my phone with power button and volume plus/minus. Then I used HBOOT to factory reset the phone. It worked. My phone starts normal and I set basic settings. After reboot I get another bootloop/stuck at boot screen.
The phone has LOCKED BootLoader and is S-ON.
Software status: Official
HBOOT 3.19
firmware: 4.19.161.2
Do you have any kind of warranty ? As you have never touched the phone as in modified it ?

Only things that might break your warranty, so i won't advise to do so. If your warranty effort fails then we can take a step further here.

Why won't they? If you've not tampered with the software and it's a hardware fault they're obliged to repair/replace it under the terms of the Warranty. Or get in touch with Vodafone as it's running their software so they should also be able to help
