Yesterday, google has announce it new android version developer preview which is android L,mainly this updates version will be the major updates version since google will revamped the UI of current android version to be more flat look, with colour UI and tons of SWEET animation and the whole new package of the UI change called Material Design, other than than that we also get locksreen notification, change and improvement on notification + quick setting toggles, battery improvements and now android L will fully run on android runtime (ART) instead of dalvik which will increased performances, i personally impress with the updates that google making and would like to see this run on my phone.
How about you guys,do you like the change made? do you think sony will also revamped it's current xperia/timescape UI to match with android L? and the most important question, will our current phone (xperia ZL) get the updates officially from sony? I do think sony should adapt the stock android L material design with the addition refresh of walkman, album, movie apps that match material design since the sony UI feel a little bit outdated to me. That's all
I don't think that Sony will provide android L for ZL. They are too busy with their z2 and z3 concept they may not even turn back to these z series, hardly they will provide .233 upset for kk which consists bug fixes and that's it we will be made to sit with kk 4.4.2, we may not even get kk 4.4.3.
I agree I don't think we'll get official android L. By that time I will unlock bootloader and get CM12 or whatever.
Ps I don't even have official kitkat for my ZL.. (generic DE)....
We might get that via cyanogenmod. Sony never gonna release it to zl. May be this is the last update for us.

too bad if that the case, hopefully by that time more dev will appear to make it run on this devices
just waiting for CM12
I don't think we'll see official L on our devices. However the new keyboard looks great on the ZL and the new Google play services fixes the wake lock issue.

Yeah, CM12 with Android 4.2 Blobs... I gave up counting on cm for xperia zl, they dont even managed to fix all the sound bugs for our device.
Sony official release for our ZL will be a long wait unless you get the Z3 or Z4 whenever that comes out. Only way to get it is via Cyanogenmod I think.

Hi, I'm sure some of you have heard about the battery stamina feature available in recent xperia devices. Is there such an app for download or can it be ported to other xperia devices?
Any help would be appreciated
With the Arc S having fun on CM 10
These phones, that will have it, aren't available yet, if I am not mistaken.

Tnx i try this
I've got the latest version of JellyBean 4.1,but I found it really sucks, the 2G networks is **** ,and the FULL HD recording lags, I'm looking forward to see another update from Sony though two JB update have been released, but the bugs still exist....
Anyone knows If it is possible for Arco S to get another update?
Acro S will get bugfix update. If they have solved XS problems AS and ION should be bugfixed too.
update for xperia s is coming for jb here is the link
http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/08/01/new-xperia-s-update-coming-in-the-form-of-6-2-b-1-xx/
I asked Sony Mobile Czech Republic if any updates for Ion are planned... They said that they don't know because they dont have any info, but i hope at least for bugfixes
Im having two issues with the update.
1) Camera app takes longer to start than when I had Jelly bean.
2)The settings Menu lags a hell lot..its really annoying because I expected an increase in system performance when I updated to 4.4.2.
3) Scrolling response isnt fluid and feels worse than before
Im using stock Xperia ROM and on my Xperia ZL (C6503) and im really disappointed because it took Sony long enough to release the update which isnt even working smoothly.
If anyone can suggest a solution for either or both these issues please help me out.
Really regret not going for the Nexus devices now

Thanks alot..it fixed the settings lag and responsiveness problem
Hello guys,
I update my xperia zl to kitkat version (4.4.2), and it gets some issues like:
1) Camera app takes longer to start than when I had Jelly bean.
2)The settings Menu lags a hell lot..its really annoying because I expected an increase in system performance when I updated to 4.4.2.
3) Scrolling response isnt fluid and feels worse than before
There is a way to fix this issues? This problems happens to another models of xperia zl?
Thanks

Well, i agree with the first one... That's why i'm using Google Camera (from Play Store)
I think you need to enable the Force GPU Rendering on Developer Option on Setting... If you don't find the Developer Option, you need to tap 7 times on Build Number
If it helps, don't forget to click Thanks button
I just checked out the aospa Twitter page and they are devices that are running the new version of paranoid Android. I am wondering if there are no maintainers for this device as we do not get it built for our devices I believe that it can be built off of source but I know that there compilation methods are abid difficult. Anybody want to take a stab at it and build this wonderful run for our devices. @slothdabski @calsurferpunk @kingbri
I would sport that puppy...

I read this on their gsi xda post
(NOT using A/B partitioning scheme (ie. A-Only)
Bummer
It's a device specific flag that can be set up to run on a/b devices... It's just a matter of someone picking up the project for our phones.. I do recall that back in the day the way to build it was different from other operating systems so maybe the setup was different and nobody here has that set up possibly? I'm trying to stay patient but I am currently running DU and is running phenomenally.. I do understand that paranoid Android is very barebone right now but the caf source makes it really good on battery low and stability. I recall way back and my Galaxy S2 days ... And this is just a great project. If anyone out there can build this for us you would be incredible

Paranoid Android was very cool in 2013, I used it on my SGS4 back then on Android 4.3. They had this engine where you could set the phone to tablet, phablet or phone mode and change DPI. You could even do this on a per-App basis! Very nice :good:
On top they had a plethora of setting - oh and they had this psychedelic design! E.g. for OTA updates (IIRC) they showed this one: https://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/nexusae0_lennon.jpg
But now, in 2019, what is special about PA?

Nothing really, a lot of the stuff that they Incorporated back in the day or something that comes native on Android nowadays.. PA Theme engine is somewhat redundant especially how it lets you theme per app basis somewhat like substratum can do... I don't see Halo coming back, and it wasn't back in the Android 7 or 8 builds of paranoid Android... I will say one of the things that they have going for them would be the caf base.. as I mentioned before it is extremely fluid and great on battery life.. ever since @molesarecoming left the dev scene for this operating system, it honestly seemed to have died as far as what features where available on this... I guess now it's good for nostalgia and stability as far as features go I don't see what they can offer that we don't already get with other options... I can't say this though, the battery life has always been good on these ROMs
