Hi, I'm sure some of you have heard about the battery stamina feature available in recent xperia devices. Is there such an app for download or can it be ported to other xperia devices?
Any help would be appreciated

Hi all XDA-members!
Since I can't post my question in the original post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1476905) duo to lack of posts from my side, I can't write in the developer-section, but I wish I can soon.
Well, enough about that, I have always been interested in custom MIUI-ROMs for XPlay since I had my X10i, and I started to like the MIUI-version, and my question now, before I start to unlock my bootloader so I can use the MIUI is those following ones:
How well those it work when you wanna play a Xperia Play-optimized game?
Is it those two "joysticks" int eh middle of the gamepad that is called "touchpad" and doesn't work?
is the feature where you kill the app by longpressing the back-key still integrated like some year ago? (One of the most lovely features with MIUI IMO)
Is the new Adreno driver supported for ICS good that is integrated? (question ment for those of you who have use it, even for some hour, or does it need more optimization before it's ready to go?)
Does the Xperia Play-home turn on when you pull out the gamepad so you have all the games ready to play?
Well, i think I cover'd all my questions now, and if you wanna give me a heads up about something, then feel free to bring it on
And for pricey2009, thanks for bringing such a nice ROM to Xperia Play, it looks really promising with the featuring-list even if it misses GPS, video recording and front-camera! And I hope I just can get to hear some good about it so I can try it out and tell you for real how amazing it truly is
And sorry for my bad English, and also if you need help pricey2009 with translating the ROM into Swedish, then I can help you out with that as well if it isn't translated into Swedish already

Unfortunately There is No Stable or Nightly CM10.1 for Xperia S.
Team FXP Stays with Only CM10. Cuz Stability is still an Issue with Xperia S right now!
Lets hope official 4.1.2 brings better changes.

Yesterday, google has announce it new android version developer preview which is android L,mainly this updates version will be the major updates version since google will revamped the UI of current android version to be more flat look, with colour UI and tons of SWEET animation and the whole new package of the UI change called Material Design, other than than that we also get locksreen notification, change and improvement on notification + quick setting toggles, battery improvements and now android L will fully run on android runtime (ART) instead of dalvik which will increased performances, i personally impress with the updates that google making and would like to see this run on my phone.
How about you guys,do you like the change made? do you think sony will also revamped it's current xperia/timescape UI to match with android L? and the most important question, will our current phone (xperia ZL) get the updates officially from sony? I do think sony should adapt the stock android L material design with the addition refresh of walkman, album, movie apps that match material design since the sony UI feel a little bit outdated to me. That's all
I don't think that Sony will provide android L for ZL. They are too busy with their z2 and z3 concept they may not even turn back to these z series, hardly they will provide .233 upset for kk which consists bug fixes and that's it we will be made to sit with kk 4.4.2, we may not even get kk 4.4.3.
I agree I don't think we'll get official android L. By that time I will unlock bootloader and get CM12 or whatever.
Ps I don't even have official kitkat for my ZL.. (generic DE)....
We might get that via cyanogenmod. Sony never gonna release it to zl. May be this is the last update for us.

too bad if that the case, hopefully by that time more dev will appear to make it run on this devices
just waiting for CM12
I don't think we'll see official L on our devices. However the new keyboard looks great on the ZL and the new Google play services fixes the wake lock issue.

Yeah, CM12 with Android 4.2 Blobs... I gave up counting on cm for xperia zl, they dont even managed to fix all the sound bugs for our device.
Sony official release for our ZL will be a long wait unless you get the Z3 or Z4 whenever that comes out. Only way to get it is via Cyanogenmod I think.

My daughter (13) being a playstation fan....saw the "playstation phone" somewhere and had a fit for it. I had to look up what she was talking about and strangely....I had never seen or heard of the Xperia Play. I found an unopened brand new Verizon (r800x) and bought it for her. Her birthday is next month and I am wanting to get this thing set up for her. I didnt realize that Sony had stopped support for this phone...so I cant even update from the stock android version This will be her first phone, and I think she will absolutely love it....but I need some help getting it updated please.
I have the phone set up and activated on Page Plus. I have read and read and read on the different roms and kernels etc. and TBH...it is all greek to me lol. I have never rooted a phone...used a custom rom or kernel etc. So I am hoping that some of you awesome peeps could help me out a little and help put a huge smile on my little girls face .
I noticed that several roms overclock the processor and up the screen res to 720p. That would be awesome to have since she will game the crap out of it lol. Of course I want all of the functions of the slide out controller to work...like the touch sensors etc. and also the wifi, camera etc. because well...shes a teenager. I also have Themer on my S3 and she LOVES messing with it and I am not sure if its possible for it to work on the Play even with a custom rom etc.
If any kind soul would mind telling me which rom etc would be the best to use for this, and also help me with getting it all installed and set up etc. I would GREATLY appreciate it!! Thanks so much!
HBD to your daughter
Hi, it's amazing, our loved xplay will never die .
First of all, if you have your bootloader unlocked then you are ready to choose (see point #2) then flash a rom (see point #3), if not then give a look to THIS for web unlocking for R800x (may work) or THIS it should work for R800x too but roms must be for R800x, you can search on each rom post to see if that rom are compatible.
Lets think about gaming and stuff, if you think your daughter will use it to play heavy games instead social stuff and multitask is not a problem then GingerBread is the best option, if you think she will be a casual gamer and will want multitask and other cool "new" stuff then ICS, Jellybean is not an option since you said that you want touchpads and jellybean has no functional touchpads.
In both GB and ICS you will able to record on 720p and Overclock your device and i recommend to O.C up to 1.6GHz with a Lupus Kernel.
Now, i have tested a several roms and kernels and i'll list those which i think are the best.
GINGER BREAD
Gin2KitKat very good UI, good for gaming and social
AuroraPlay simple UI, very good for gaming (the best i think)
ICE CREAM SANDWICH
GAMING HYBRID simple UI, light and good for gaming
ICS Original original Sony Ericsson UI, good for gaming and social
Xperia Play ZXperia Z UI(the best i think), very good for gaming and social
As i said before, you must see if the rom is compatible for R800x since almost all of them are for R800i.
As a matter in fact i'm using Xperia Play Z with DoomKernel at 1.6GHz and i think its the best of the best
Hope i was helpful, i'm sorry for my bad english. Good luck. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks SO much for your help She will game of course but I think the ICS would suit her better. After writing this...i read some more....and some more lol....anyway I found the sony unlocking website...and unfortunately I dont have the "bootloader status" option so it says I cant unlock it
I would love to set it up exactly like yours is, since it seems you really like it . Is there a workaround for the bootloader problem?
Thanks again for your help!
Well...I got the bootloader unlocked
I wanted to use the Xperia Play Z rom that you mentioned...but it doesnt seem to be a r800x rom Can anybody recommend a ICS rom and kernel for the r800x please?
Try Hybrid
GAMING HYBRID has a CDMA (r800x) version :highfive:.
Actually you can flash any R800i ICS ROM but you will not have network but wifi, just to try maybe .
May you should pm Markphyton to know if the Xperia Play Z rom will be ported ro r800x in near future, meanwhile try Hybrid Gaming its UI is not as ugly as you may think, is stable and light, give it a chance.

if r800x is not the only option that would work in you area.. then you really made a mistake by buying the x version.,. should have bought the r800i.
Want Controller in Minecraft
I am setting up an Xperia Play for my daughter as well, and two more for my sons, only we have the CDMA version. So far I have tried CyanogenMod 9.1 and Xperia Play Z. In both of them, the controller functionality is just junk in Minecraft. Both Softsticks operate the same functions as the D-Pad on the left, leaving no good way to get around without constantly touching the screen. Additionally, on both ROMs, the only way I could get the option to play worlds locally was to copy them over from other devices, only then did the New and Edit buttons show up, and they still go missing most of the time.
So my question: Would anyone like to give an example of a specific custom ROM which gives them good controller performance in Minecraft? I would prefer Android 4.0 or better so I could recover from the kids changing the PIN(also, using PINs) to something they don't remember, and using phone location from within the Play store, otherwise I might have stuck with Stock in the first place.
Update: After trying Gaming Hybrid, I am mystified as to how it made the recommended list at all, and... I'll stop right there because that's the most positive thing I have to say about it. ICS Original gave me no controller love in Minecraft either, but even though it tried to set default language to Chinese it was at least stable during its four-minute eval.
Can anyone give me any update on lollipop development for XPERIA ION? There is a rom at this link "drive.google.com/file/d/0BwjJRYcaJjnoUExRRm8temtvVVU/edit" made by some guy named "hikari" and everything works fine except the sim card is not detected and the camera does not work (so far what I have seen). Also it sometimes freezes on settings and browser app, battery drains too fast (29% overnight, even when it is in airplane mood) and when the device reboots, the notification panel along with the status bar vanishes. Otherwise the experience is buttery smooth. From the build prop, it looks like the ROM was ported from the lollipop release for xperia acro s. Can anyone please continue this work and let the ion users have the lollipop experience the have all been waiting for?
P.S.: I am sorry if I have violated any rules of this forum by sharing the link of the ROM. I, as the other ion users, am desperate for a lollipop ROM for the ion. Also, sorry to post it here, as I am not allowed to post this in the ION Development forum.
