Hello, i have 2 questions before installing this rom on my unlocked AT&T htc one m8.
1. can i put the rom on my external micro sd card, and not in virtual SD card, so i can flash it from the external sd card.
2. Most important, I got my htc one m8 from AT&T in the U.S, but i unlocked it, and put viper rom on it. and i'm using it in europe.
Now i want to try this rom, but i missing important info:
In the install process, can i chose "htc one (internional)" - As i using this in EU, and not the second option? (U.S AT&T).
Or this is not recommended, and might hurt my device?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

For question 1 yes you can install it from ext-sd but internal sd is safe. Also you can try from usb-otg.
For qs-2 It wont hurt your device. If you are supercid you can choose any one you like. But I would recommend that you try the international option.Best of luck in flashing.

what is that? i dont have s-off if thats what you mean. i only open bootloader and flash the viper rom via the toolkit.
Should i still be able to chose the international option?
Best regards,
thanks a lot for your time

hi all,
i just got myself a Telstra Desire. have been using HD2 for a while and decided to go onto the Android bandwagon.
In HD2, i know what to do for flashing ROM but not in android.
my question here is do i need to "root" my Desire if i want to install this ROM onto my Desire "RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe"?
My main purpose is to remove all the Telstra branded bloatware on my Desire.
Thank you for replying.
You do not need to root to install a RUU, you will need to create a gold card (search Google)

If you run into difficulty with creating the Gold Card, try using the Gold Card tool in my sig below.

I'm in the same situation. I just gave my wife a Desire for Xmas and want to know if it is necessary to root the device to flash a custom ROM. And if so, can I use unrevoked3 to do so?
Yes, to flash a custom (unsigned) rom, then you will need to root your desire, you can use unrEVOked for this. If you are branded, then all you require to flash official (signed) roms (like the official ruu posted above) is a Gold Card to unlock your phones CID.

Hello!
When I bought my Desire, I asked the seller to root it and to flash it with another rom for me.
Then I read something about a goldcard. Since the original rom was from Orange (French provider) and the previous owner had it unlocked (officially or not I don't know ), will I ever have to use a goldcard? As I don't have a goldcard, what can go wrong?
Thanks!

Goldcard is a tool which is required when you try to flash stock ROM. There are a myriad of reasons why you might need to do that in the future.
Here is the method I used:

If you do not have a goldcard you could be unable to flash an ruu. You need to do this, if you want to set your phone completely back to stock. You need to this, when you want to "delete signs" of root, s-off and installed custom roms. So that when you sent your phone back to your provider/seller, you can assert a warranty claim, although you lost it with rooting (and so on) your phone.
Ohhh shh**tt!!
@stringer7: thanks for the link.
I have a backup of the original ROM. Can't I just reflash it to restore the phone back @stock? Can I still make a goldcard?
Thanks for your help!
As far as i know, you can make a goldcard at any time. It's just important to have one.
You shouldn't need a Goldcard- but it's completely optional and beneficial in some ways
Well I plan to give my Desire to my Mom and buy another phone, I don't want her to experience any rom related bug so I'll turn it back to official rom...
Can I simply reflash the backed up official rom? Will I lose Root and/or S-Off?

Yes you would then lose root and s-off.
You could reflash your backup - but if it's a nandroid backup, that would have been done after you rooted wouldn't it, so you would get rooted official rom.
So best thing is find the ruu for your device and carrier, create goldcard and run the ruu? You will find tutorials on XDA for this!
Ok thank you very much for your answers

Rooting a phone does not take the branding off it, flashing a Rom with no branding does that... For example, my phone provider is virgin mobile, when i rooted it I still had virgins logos and apps on my phone... When i flashed a custom Rom, I didn't

here is that file modified for t-mobile users, this is how you use it:
1) Make sure you are S off and preferably super cid but not required.
2) I would recommend having the Rom of you choosing (sense) on the SD card already (Sky Dragon v9.1 is what i would highly recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700571)
3) Place file in the link on root of SD card
4) Place phone in boot loader and let the file extract itself and install
5) Phone will reboot, when it does so delete the file on you SD card, or remove it all together(thats what i did) cause if you don't you will be unable to get into recovery.
After that reboot into recovery and install said ROM.
Does this ROM have Wi-Fi calling for T-Mobile customers?
Does the camera app work properly (with the Duo Camera)?

So the modified file is the GPE ROM? Sorry, I'm a bit confused by your post and the instructions. The GPE conversion process seems a bit more complicated that what you laid out.
Thanks.
Hi.
I want to install any custom or official rom at that mobile phone that it does let me move any app into external micro sd card because the android version 4.3 now has DOESN'T let me do that.
What rom(official or not) do you suggest me to install it and how exactly can do that?
A lot of thanks.
