I have T999 mobile and till 4.1 it was not having any issues but after updating I am having issue of opposite person not listening my voice properly and complain of voice breaking only on outgoing calls but incoming calls no issues. And also this issue is on all TW stock or port and on some AOSP too but I never got complaint while on Beanstalk or CRom even I used for a month
I tried changing modems also but no luck.
Two days back I odined to root 66 of nc2 and used without changing any settings but issue remains yesterday I flashed sarabhai's sprint port LT but same issue available
I tried almost all TW roms but I have to go back to Beanstalk or CRom
Any advice
Thanks in advance

Strange. Next time you are several miles from your current location reboot and make a call to see if it still happens. Im wondering if the tower you are connecting to might be part of the problem. No one else has that issue that im aware of, so since its not hardware (incoming works fine), and I don't believe its the firmware fault, it may be the network. If it is related to the firmware, there is probably nothing wrong with it, just something weird about how the tower accepts the initiating connection.
This is just a guess of course. Have you tried flashing a 4.1.2 rom to test with? Modem will still have to be 4.3 but you never know....
Thanks Doc
Even I am surprised with this issue which I am having from months together and mostly on all TouchWiz roms
More surprisingly I never had this issue with CRom or beanstalk. From past two days I am back to CRom and no issues at all so I think it might be some settings which is effecting it or may be Google is restarting some settings which causes this so tomorrow I will be trying without restoring data from Google and see

Yes but not for too long because 4.3 is generally a battery hog on my T999 and I dislike the stock TW look of 4.4. That's one of the reasons I stayed with the last 4.1.2 Dandroid ROM.

I am running on 4.1.2 since last three days and till now not having call issue. This means it is only issue with 4.3 touchwiz build.
Today I am going to try with 4.4.4 aosp build.
That's just weird! I'm sorry I don't have much of an idea for how to help with it.
Hopefully either you find a good rom you like, or the upcoming kk update will fix it up for you.
Ill be posting a rom based on the T999V firmware just released if you want to give it a shot as well. Will probably post early afternoon provided everything works ok.

I am always flashing newer versions or newer Roms and tried almost every Rom for our device, I flashed your Sprint port too and liked it but only due to this call issue I have to change to other one.
Today I am on C-ROM 4.4.4 and as on now everything is good
Surely I am waiting for your next Rom too. ???

It works fine though the new modem, k3, doesnt seem to work as well as h9.
It's worked pretty well for me on AT&T, stock as a vanilla. Must be because I got a message from AT&T yesterday that I reached 65% of my data over the weekend, hehe,
I would love to try and update my phone again but I'm afraid of it killing my data connection once more and me having to go back to ics.

I agree with this, I get about 25% greater d/l and 50% greater upload speeds with LH9 modem over the newer JB LK3...generally speaking. It fluctuates some though.
I mean my data actually tuns itself off and I have to restart my phone to get it back.

Huh sounds a bit like my phone. Does your data randomly wink out then takes a while to come back? With Juicedefender, occasionally data will not ever return without a reboot.

Yes it was just like that when I updated to Jelly Bean. Once I reverted back to ICS all was good again. I really want Jelly Bean but am worried that if I update again the same thing will happen.

Well in 4.1.2 (NexusMod Reloaded) with K3 modem, the data droppage rate was absolutely terrible. However with the h9 modem, it was more bearable. 3g would wink out for a couple seconds and reconnect immediately although juicedefender still wasnt working too well. I say, create a nandroid backup and flash a 4.1 rom of your choice. Run with it for a couple days and if youre still having issues, go back to your backup. As long as you don't upgrade your modem, shouldnt be too bad.

Try the update again and see what happens. Did you do a factory reset the last time you did the update? If not I would give that a try if the problem happens again after the update. Reading through various forums, it seems that a factory reset after the update has fixed some of the issues people are having.

Odd...I've actually had exactly the opposite experience with the new modem. My cellular connection seems to be a bit stronger and my wifi range has increased significantly. Whereas with the H9 build, I could only go a couple of rooms over from the router in my house and still maintain a wifi connection. Now I can go anywhere inside the house and still have a connection.

I have used Bacon Rom , Loser Rom and stock rom with zero problems with data
Yeah I did a full factory reset thrice . I was even having the problem where most of my calls I would make would beep once then disconnect and the phone would go to the lock screen.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
My issue that I experienced ever since I flashed the ATT official JB update was that I could send texts and use data and everything, but my contacts would go missing, I couldn't receive text messages and since my contacts would go missing the people in my messaging app would show their number and not their name. I would restart my phone and it would work for a little bit and then would go back out again.
I also switched from the LoserRom which is when I first started experiencing this. I don't think it's ROM related as far as what the developer is doing because I'm experiencing the same thing on ktoonsez AOKP rom.
I also thought it was modem related so I flashed my the LH1 to the CDLK3 Modem and was still experiencing issues. So I went to the CLI5 modem and it was still not receiving texts.
I started to think its my sim card. I turned my phone off took the sim card out and put it back in and powered my phone on. It seems to be working now.
Sorry for this kind of lengthy and out of order.
Please if you have any idea or have experienced this issue as well, please let me know.

For right now with the bootloader Knox issues, I'm sticking with 4.12 and using the the 4.3 MK7 radio. I've gone through them all and this
improved my signal and battery time significantly. More over, with this modem improvement, I've fallen in love again with my finely tuned
Jedi-x20 all over again. ptmr3, still my idol!!!
I also flashed the MK7 modem. Haven't really noticed a vast improvement..and it also didn't deliver some of my calls and went straight to vm. But hoping it makes a difference as its used more throughout the day. .
To all people having problems,
I personally had to flash the deodexed rom about 3 times before the problems got fixed. First time camera wasn't working but I read somewhere that when first on stock taker pictures and then update the kernel. Second it was super sluggish...barely moving. Third time everything worked fine and have yet to come across and problems.
Just remember to keep erasing cache and dalvik after every flash/step.

Man people, I'm sorry for all of you. I received it while using tweaked but could not flash it so I went back to stock image using Mobile odin and triangle away. After going complete stock I received the update again then went ahead and installed it using the stock recovery. I gave up root because I'm impatient and couldn't wait 24 hours until the rooted version came along and the only thing I miss is viper audio and cerebus. So I went the stock route and after it booted up, I signed in to my Google account and soon as the home screen came up I did a factory rest and haven't had 1 hiccup. The phone is fast as hell, the battery is about the same, my 4glte even seems faster than before when browsing using the stock browser, not chrome. The keyboard is great now as well as camera, and nothing bets the apps to sd. So in conclusion do a factory rest and forget about root IF you want all to run flawless. I'm sure there will be a way to regain root again. Happy flashing.......stock style.

Any big difference between TW 4.3 vs TW 4.4.2 ?
I know that the 4.4.2 Google Edition Roms absolutely scream as far as real world performance goes. But somehow I doubt the TW 4.4.2 will offer a huge performance boost vs its earlier counterpart. Anyone have any insight into this?
@^ I recently checked some videos of the new kitkat update for the galaxy S4 on youtube and there isn't quite many changes. There might be some performance boost on this update, but nothing really changed.

It performs pretty well actually and it also has some big features like the new location settings, tap and pay working out of the box, printing without a third party app and they revamped some lock screen settings, keyboard, and also now has AUTO high touch sensitivity so now it can actually sense when you're wearing gloves ( which I have tested and works great)

Kinda made this to be a catch-all KK issue thread.
I've been on this forum for many years and would you believe my post count <10. Anyways....
I have flashed the Liquidsmooth LS-KK-v3.0-2014-03-18 with the dr87 kernel. Great ROM. Quick. Speedy. Best battery life I've ever had on a smartphone.
Having issues with random reboots also with A2DP. I know A2DP hasn't been right for a long time. Also having issues with the updater nagging about a new update even though I'm on the latest release. The download usually fails a MD5 check anyways.
Thoughts?
yea im on AOKP 4.4.2 for about 3 weeks now. since its my favorite rom. Anyways i have experienced random reboots and poor data connections.
This has been discussed for months. All AOSP 4.4 ROMs suffer from random reboots/freezes, poor sound quality, etc. It's the kernel, once devs incorporate the new LG KK kernel source, these issues should be fixed. Before that though, Sprint has to release the damn update.
Patience, grasshoppers. It will all be well soon enough. :good:

I've been running this rom [ROM] [VECTUS] GN5 Project AOSP [V0.0] 4.4.2 (03-22-2014) since release and it doesn't have any of the problems they you've mentioned. The only thing that has occurred is the screen randomly turning on. no freezing, reboots, or lockups.

CM/AOKP/AOSPA kernel source will usually vary from "stock" source that LG provides for various reasons. Changes are more fluid on those AOSP projects as they're keeping up usually with sources like CAF.
I tried with Furnace kernel and with the exception of losing data after trying to tether it was great. So your mileage may vary.

I've found my bluetooth button that used to activate voice mate now does nothing. Seems to be an issue with Nexus phones as well read? I'm on stock 4.4.2.
I've also noticed wifi seems flaky and I have to toggle it to get internet working after it seems to hang.

My data connection on 3g is slower than dial up no matter where I am, battery life is not that amazing either. Also the sound is very low, like I am still running an aosp rom. Music player in lockscreen is not full screen like it was on kk roms before. Not super impressed honestly.

Yeah I know you can do that. Just thought the sound would be back to normal since I'm on a stock rom now.
I have a problem. I'm getting too much screen on time now.
And the XDA app hasn't been updated in 2 years.

Anyone have trouble syncing bookmarks. Can't get them to sync. Only have local at top of bookmarks. Gmail bookmarks not showing up at top where you can switch between local and gmail acct.
Fixed it. Took a chromebrowser sync apk from another rom put in system apps, correct permissions and good to go. Just incase someone else has this problem.

Ok here's what happened. I bricked my phone a month ago. I took it to Sprint in Northern Florida for repair. The guy tot my phone. I was worried at first as he kept saying kdz file. He seemed like he really didn't know what to do. He got it working again but I had frequent data drops and battery sucked. Kit Kat didn't fix any of these problems after resets. I finally two nights ago used the tot on my own and now battery is phenomenal. I got 6 hours sot yesterday. Only problem I'm having now is that I don't use Bluetooth and its off. It's my number one battery hog. Any suggestions? I thought the info about the tot might be helpful for those with battery issues where factory reset hasn't helped.

Try to use the tot file to downgrade to 4.2.2 or 4.3 if available.

I read some are doing a master reset after doing tot. I'm showing bluetoothe @ 2% even though its off after full tot. Battery life is good so far.
Im seeing bluetooth at 5% and its off.. f'ing bluetooth man

I had Beanstalk on my phone for a while, no issues, upgrading to the 041414 (jftle) version that was posted. Ever since then weird things are happening. I would text people and I wouldn't get their response back. People would call but my phone wouldn't ring and they said it was giving a message 'out of calling area" etc.. I called from my house phone and it was say "one moment, then my phone would ring" I didn't have a NB4 modem on it before last week when this happened (I had the original modem that came with the S4 Tmob last year with JB.) Thinking it would help, I flashed the NB4 modem but no difference that I can tell
I tried to restore from nandroid and everything works but I still have the above problems, I tried a different rom, (all CYAN 11 based) but still same thing. It show in About, that I have a NB4 modem. Never had this issue before, any ideas? I tried different kernals also (ktoonz) etc..
Have you tried odining back to stock?

Went ahead and odin'ed to stock, but it still shows nb4 for baseband. When I call my number I get , ring, "one moment, please..." then it rings on my mobile phone. Is this something weird going on or what can be doing this?
