Ultimate rom for ace 2 - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is the ultimate rom for the ace 2?
I'm running AOSP right now. I'm looking for a rom that is very fast, smooth, amazing battery life and can handle multi tasking very well

very fast, smooth, amazing battery life, good multitasking?
You're talking about 4 different Roms for me...at this moment that ROM doesn't exist for our device.
PS. And bugfree of course, pm me if u will find it.

I'm thinking about slim 4.2.2 with justarchi modifications

JB or ICS ROM with best battery life and speed?

I'm going nuts trying to find the best ROM for Gio. Most of the people say that JB and ICS ROMs drain battery. And it makes no sense at all to have a phone that you can't use. Please help me to find best ROM for Gio. Or should I try 2.3.x ROMs like Adrenaline or sth?
try maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics rom.they are fast and have better battery life and a smoother performance.
about JB,try CM10.1 by oldroid its fast but has some kinda lags in the rom
for gingerbread try Enhanced 236,adrenaline rom or S'perience final rom they are fast and have battery life good :good:
So what about maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics's battery lives? Which one do you recommend?
I didn't experienced MMB ICS but I can tell you that Maclaw's ICS has better battery life then old droid JB
I think that MMB ICS is faster than maclaws, but you should try them by yourself.
I'am using olddroid's CM10.1 i can use it much longer than maclaws ics (except wifi is on)..
R: JB or ICS ROM with best battery life and speed?
Olddroid cm 10.1 has good battery life. More than ics. Try it!
for me slim ics... i've flashed this rom to my firends phone he is very satisfied with the performance and battery life...

I checked slim ics and I think of using it. But some people report that radio and camera don't work for them. Do you know anything about it?
For me Maclaw CM9 was good, now I use 10.1 by OldDroid and its also good - hope next realase will fix some lags and we see the greatest ROM for our GiO

Yes it is. :victory:
battery is good. one thing i don't like about that ROM is the RAM usage. it eats large amount of RAM so it is not recommended for gaming.

Is it only me or is stock rom the smoothest ?

I just flashed Pa3+ and for some reason I feel like stock is the smoothest but I really need the themes.
Is there a 100% stock rom but with themes ?
P.s. That's a GSM phone.
These two are the smoothest ROMs I've ever seen. Vanir is more stock, and a bit faster imo. Atom is based on Vanir with some added options. I'm sure if you tried either one you won't be disappointed.
Also I recommend flashing AK Kernel. Vanir + AK is the fastest my phone has ever been.
Vanir

Thank you ! will try.

I think PA has a lot of unique features and I really like what they did with the rom but I agree that stock is way more stable and snappy.

Vanir and AK is an AMAZING combination ! way snappier then stock !

+ 1 for vanir

I used to use STOCK for a few days, it really is smooth, but the interesting thing that can make any rom fast as stock is just to optimize it according to your necessities and "trim" it one a week to fix reading speeds of the internal memory. (LagFix from Google Play does the job)
I have actually never tried the stock 4.2.2 ROM, I am always flashing atom, vanir, cm10.1, aokp, xylon, and all that.
vanir is the smoothest for me
Yes, stock rom is the smoothest.
In my opinion Galaxy nexus rom development is boring because all roms look like each other and at the end the stock is the best.
That's one of the reasons why people choose paranoid and their hybrid engine... to get something different! I love their job for bringing real innovations to android.

Please keep your opinions to your self. There are many amazing devs and I don't think you have any right to call their work "garbage"

i use muzzy rom and i think its very smooth. however, i may try vanir to see if it is smoother.
I have used several custom roms and after a while they get so laggy that unlocking the device is a pain.
I am on stock 4.2.2 and uts smooth most of the time.

In my case it's snappy right after reboot but after couple of hours it becomes laggy. You gotta reboot or....change wallpaper to restore smoothness.

Or use 4.1.2. The only thing I miss is the 4.2 keyboard and the fact that cm 10.1 feels more mature and complete.

I use JellyBam 7.2.0 and it's pretty stable for me.
The camera crashes sometimes but it works after a reboot.

At the moment with Hawckish rom I can say is the best Android rom that I have ever seen in any phone, and its very customizable!
It's JB 4.2.2, CM10.1 RC0, PA 3.15, kernel 3.0.64-CM.
Battery life is actually very good.
I tested all the one bellow and would recommend them. They are all stable.
Android RevolutionHD(My daily driver)
WanamLite
AllianceRom
PhoenixRom
OmegaRom

This. The only way to get a truly stable experience is to run a stock based rom. All the aosp based roms have some issues on most any phone which isn't a Nexus device. Granted most of these issues don't make the phone unusable but it's still a pain in the ass having to reset your phone because the camera bugs out.

Bro, you shouldn't ask these kind of questions. We can't say which one is the most "stable". The ROM that is for you is the one that is perfect for you. Try out all the 4.1 ROMs and see whats good for you.
My recommendation: Velox(Longest running 4.1 rom i used)

CM10 EOL has always been rock solid for me - even when updated to use Madridii's kernel which gave me great battery life (up to 2 days depending on use) Xperian UI is CM based and I found it to be an awesome derivative with some great Sony extras - no loss of stability or battery life with Madridii's kernel and Acid sound mod.
Am currently rocking Honami UI (cm10.1 - JB4.2.2) with Madridii's kernel and Acid sound mod, to be honest it's very similar in stability & reliability, battery life is only fractionally less and it is a good daily driver for me.

Should I stick with 4.3 or move on to 4.4?

Hey there, I'm currently running the Cataclysm ROM on my Galaxy Nexus, and I'm super happy with it. But I was thinking of moving to CM 11 (not sure if official or unofficial).
How is it in terms of stability, bugs, speed, battery life, etc, compared to 4.3?
The 4.4.2 cm11 rom its very stable now, i recomend you to upgrade to KitKat now, works fine and fast, and so beauty

CM11 with ART is fantastic, but you'll have to make up your own mind on battery life.

What do you mean? Is battery life worse on 4.4?
I highly recommend PlayfulGod's unofficial CM11 build. Battery life is great (almost 3 hours screen on time with undervolt and mpokang kernel) and it is stable enough to use as a daily driver. It has made my Galaxy Nexus faster than ever

I'm curious about this too. I just flashed 4.4 Slimkat and battery life seemed to be worse, but I thought it was because I was playing more with it.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. The more you do the worse battery is. Its that simple. Battery life isnt the same for everyone since everyone uses their phones differently.
imho Android 4.4 is the best update since 4.0.
The new RAM management is awesome and makes my GNexus run like on the first day
CM11 is pretty stable, too.
It's too bad that many developers leaving the GNexus and move on, because I'm still missing some features (like HOLO, Active Display, ...)
And it's a shame that Google isn't updating the stock rom, because like I said, the GNexus is running way better with 4.4 than it was with 4.3.
I made a change to 4.4.2 CM11 and it is really awesome! Transition is very simple compared to HTC Sensation. It works great !
