Any Sense roms with AOSPA like Hover? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sense 6 is the ONLY custom Android skin I actually enjoy, but I miss the pop up notification functionality of AOSP roms. Most third party SMS apps I've tried blow. Any Sense builds out their with HOVER? Or an alternative?

Is there a vanilla Android 2.1 or 2.2 ROM?

I just want to get rid of this Sense UI stuff. After coming from a Droid the Sense UI is very busy looking and doesn't really offer me a lot above the plain 2.1. I'd love just a vanilla Android ROM that had everything working (cameras, 4G, etc). Does such a thing exist?
Cyanogen will be out soon..I suggest following that for AOSP 2.2
I'll keep my eye on CM, wasn't sure what it was, exactly. Thanks for the reply.
The nightly builds of CM are fantastic. I've had extremely minimal issues with them, and I've been using them as my daily since they were released.

You don't need a ROM, you can turn off Sense on the Evo and use vanilla Android if you want.
From the home screen, go to settings - Applications - scroll down and choose HTC SENSE - press Remove Defaults - press Home button and you'll get a pop up asking you to choose between Sense and the stock UI, click use as default and choose stock and you're done.
You'll get default home screens, launcher, and 3D app drawer like the NEXUS ONE, on the flip side you can still use the great Sense widgets and apps.

[Q] sense contacts,dialer,call log on cm7

As the title says...is it possible? I really like CM7, its faster, cleaner ...etc. but i'm addicted to sense contacts, dialer, call log..
yes, its possible, but it won't be sense, rather sense like.
yes yes, only this i really want from sense...how can i do that ?
You cannot use sense things in AOSP roms. If you want sense things, use sense. Stop, full stop, finish!
I too have moved from Sense to aosp, and found that, while some features can be replicated with other apps, others are impossible. I've managed to recreate the functionality(even the looks in some cases) for: clock widget, lock screen, contacts widget, agenda widget. The other day I've found an app called ex dialer. It looks very simillar to MIUI. It looks better than the asop version of the same apps. By using a custom launcher, you can re-create icons. With cm7 theme manager you could even apply a sense like theme.
I've tried a few Sense ROMs and was deterred by some lagginess. I'm currently using Revolution 2.0 DATA++ and I'm very happy with it.
I agree CM7 is fast as is Oxygen, but like you I prefer the Sense bits. Others I know hate it. To each his (or her) own!

Sense dialer has no alternative, bar none. On top of that, alternative dialers have no permission to clear notification bar icons (ie. missed calls) on Gingerbread.

is that true? is it because sense is that much integrated in android? It's a pitty since this is the only thing that annoys me quite a lot when using cm7 for example. I think there is no proper dialer available that is as good and I found it quite weird that the dialer in stock is so limited!

Sense 3.5 lock screen for non-sense roms

Does anyone have an install APK for a sense 3.5 lockscreen that works on CM7?
I find the brilliance in sense the lockscreen, as it is beautiful, but i like CM7 way more than the sense 3.5 roms posted here.
No warez though, already checked the GO locker sense 3.5 but it looks horrible and not like sense at all. there is a magiclocker sense but it is paid.
You can try milocker.... its free on the market
Just remember.....the themes provided or from its online store are for bigger resolutions but you can get ported themes here

CM7 (At least the latest nightly, I'm not sure about the earlier cases) has a locker more usable than Sense 3.5's.
Lockscreen Settings->Style Options
Lockscreen Style -> Ring
Ring-Lock Style (Just themes)
And more importantly:
Enable "Custom App Starter"
Custom Application - You can add up to four applications!
So basically, you get four applications, unlock button and vibrate/sound button. Beats sense (Otherwise, I preferred the 3.5 locker too!)
I couldn't get a full screenshot but touching the middle button brings up four apps.
If you still want the sense look exactly, you'll need to use third party apps but I generally don't like using third party lockers.

mms messaging options

Any suggestions on simple good messaging apps..... I liked my iPhones texting with bubbles and simple interface. Any one I have tried is either buggy or slow... I am running Cm10 latest nightly. I want something that works like the stock app with popup and status bar notifications but nicer and friendlier with real emoji support not android looking Smiley's. It seems some times I get interference between the stock and new one. Is there just a different theme or skin I could use for stock messaging?
Try handcent that should be what your looking for

ChompSMS is the best I've found that resembled my iPhone (but better!). Great Emjoi support (just got updated for the iOS 6 ones--can show ASCII, iPhone, or Android), simple, and the best pop-up alert I've ever seen (i.e. customizable).
It's cleaner and less bloated than Go SMS Pro and Handcen, IMO.

[Q] Lollipop AOSP Based Roms that has hide apps ability

Are there any AOSP Based Rom (Lollipop & D855) that has the ability to hide apps on their main launcher/Google Now Launcher (GNL is better)? I really love the smoothness and style of AOSP Based Roms, but this is the only feature that is keeping me away from flashing it. I hate seeing so many apps on my drawer (e.g. Google Settings). I would love to see this feature coming to AOSP Based Roms in the future. Or if anybody knows, please feel free to tell me. Thank you.
