mms messaging options - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Any suggestions on simple good messaging apps..... I liked my iPhones texting with bubbles and simple interface. Any one I have tried is either buggy or slow... I am running Cm10 latest nightly. I want something that works like the stock app with popup and status bar notifications but nicer and friendlier with real emoji support not android looking Smiley's. It seems some times I get interference between the stock and new one. Is there just a different theme or skin I could use for stock messaging?

Try handcent that should be what your looking for

ChompSMS is the best I've found that resembled my iPhone (but better!). Great Emjoi support (just got updated for the iOS 6 ones--can show ASCII, iPhone, or Android), simple, and the best pop-up alert I've ever seen (i.e. customizable).
It's cleaner and less bloated than Go SMS Pro and Handcen, IMO.

[Q] How do I port Sense dialer to vanilla/MIUI?

I love everything about vanilla and MIUI except the dialers. I use the T9 searching on the sense dialer (which is the only reason i use sense) to dial numbers every day. I have tried Market dialer replacements and they are not great. Could i just extract the sense dialer APK? or is there more to it than that? Instruction is appreciated :-\
bump for this thread. I am also looking for a way to get the sense dialer installed on my cyanogen mod release. This is the only thing useful to me in sense.

Can I assume both of you have tried Dialer One in the market? I suppose visually it may not be quite as nice as the sense dialer, but functionally it is far superior to most anything out there.
The answer is no. you can't use a sense dialer on aosp. There is a whole lot more to the sense dialer than just the apk. Too many other files. I suggest ray dialer. free from market. Also in the realm of MIUI we will have t9 dialer in todays release...

+1 on Dialer One. I miss the built-in speed dial and predictive 'pre dial' capability from stock Sense ROMs. This free app does a superb job of replacing that functionality. It also replaces the dialer in the ROM when it is set as the default.

Can't get that to work (replace the default dialer) how did you do that? EDIT: found it!
I'm using Youlu Address Book and CM6.1 and what I did was dropped a shortcut to Youlu on the desktop, then if you pick it up and drop it in place, you can set a custom icon for it (I chose the phone icon from the Gingerbread icon pack I'm using for ADW Launcher). Then I dropped it down on the favorites bar.

Juwe's Rom Change app icon

I like to use GOSMS and Id like to set it on the home screen shortcut bar but it just looks ugly. Is there a way to make the standard SMS image redirect me to GOSMS? This is using the Touchwiz home, Juwe's 4.3.1
Not with TW, best you could do is overwrite the standard SMS app with GOSMS in the sytem partition. then it would work, but you'd have to update manually everytime there was an update on the package.
I finally just switched to Launcher pro and customized everything. I love this launcher. Really liked TW, but it was just weird to have the applications stand out like that.

[Q] What stock app have you replaced in ICS?

All,
Just wondering what stock app have you replaced in ICS? ie sms, launcher, dialer, browser... and why?
I'm trying to stay pure ICS and so far I'm digging what came with ICS but just curious what everyone has replaced on their phone. Not even gonna root.."YET"
Thanks!
None, ICS's stock apps are great.
Only thing I have replaced if the music app, I find it a bit ugly, especially the widget. So I'm using Ubermusic
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
For me, I only replaced the stock keyboard with Swiftkey X....though I wish Swiftkey X can use the Voice to txt like stock.
Dialer with exdialer + ICS theme.
Why? The dialer stinks, does't have t9 name lookup.
Even entering a number does't suggest numbers matching the pattern.
exdialer fixes all this, and with the ICS theme maintains the UX
I use ADW EX Launcher, because I'm so used to it and I want my appdrawer to scroll vertically. Another benefit is that ADW can backup and restore its settings and that comes in handy, if you have to factory reset the GN.
Not (yet) rooted by the way.
The stock music app does not find my music, so I installed PowerAMP and that works just fine.

+1 my friend. I'm so used with the sense dialer and really missed t9 lookup. Now it's better.
I also replaced stock launcher with Nova Launcher. It's almost identical with the original, but has much more functionality.
Music ---------------> POWER AMP.
go sms
adw launcher
power amp
rocket dialer
boat browzer
Been using Go SMS Pro because of T-Mobile's MMS issues: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386797
I've only swapped the default messaging app for gosms pro. More notification options. It let's me set the LED notification color, change the vibrate pattern and a few other things.

[Q] Touchwiz System Apps on JellyBam

I just swapped from HighOnAndroid, a TouchWiz based ROM, to JellyBam 7.4. I really like the customization of JellyBam, but there are a number of system apps that I really don't like, the Clock app, Calendar app, Messenger app, Contacts app, and Phone app. I love the look and feel of the TouchWiz versions of all of those apps. The JellyBam Clock has none of the features of TW clock, the TW calendar has a nice appearance, and i work outside at night, so the white text on black used in the TW Contacts and Messenger apps is perfect. Actually the Messenger app uses the colored balloons on a black background, which i really like.
Where can i find these apps, and can someone explain to me an elementary and simple way to install them? I have a copy of the Clock app, but it wont install. I've tried drag and drop, overwrite, etc. The phone won't let me do anything with the default clock app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Jellybam roms are banned from xda so you will not find any support on this.
Also
TW based applications don't function on AOSP roms without the TW interface.
