BlinkFeed removal - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

I'm sure this has been asked on numerous occasions but I'm sorry in advance. My question is there a tweak or mod that can remove BlinkFeed completely. I just got my M8

Blinkfeed seems heavily integrated into Sense 6. If you clear data on Blinkfeed it resets all launcher settings.

I did!
There are two easy ways:
1.) Install a different launcher entirely.
2.) If you longpress the background and then go to Manage Home and Panels, you can drag Blinkfeed to the trash.
I like the Sense 6 launcher well enough, so I went with #2. Either way, it breaks the swipe left/right icons on the lockscreen, so I use Xposed to get rid of them (and also maximize widgets, and put my notifications on the lockscreen).

What Xposed module gets rid of the left/right icons?

It is the "Sense 6 Lockscreen Mods" module. The option to "Disable Horizontal Arrows/Sliding".
I also have the "Disable Sense 6 lockscreen widget" and "Stock Lockscreen Widget Picker for Sense 6" modules installed so that I could get rid of the normal Sense widget and replace it with NiLS widget.

Hide Notification Bar, swipe from top to reveal..

I would like to have the notification bar off the (top of the) screen so I can have a full screen. If I want to see it I would just touch the top and it would appear and drag down as usual to see notification bar. I do not want to change my launcher as I would rather modify that one feature only.
If anyone could direct me how to do this on my own or with an already available application I would be very grateful.
Im on stock (rooted) G2 Tmobile Rom.
Yo I know you said you didn't want to change your launcher BUT if your using LauncherPro like 90% of the rest of the android community give Go Launcher a shot, it has the almost the EXACT same features as LP but it also includes the ADW ability to set actions for swipe up and down on the home screen (not just the dock) so you can hide the bar and then set down swipe on the home screen to pull down notifications, that's what I do
I just use ADW Launcher, it works very well, i don't care to change launcher.
LOL you don't wanna change your Launcher hmm ur a tuff cookie guy. Joking but for real Launcher Pro is the Best well in my opinion.
I like adw, more customizability. You can do it on lots of launchers but as far as I know you can't do it outside of the launcher. What launcher are you using now? Stock?

I will not take sides, but adw ex have more options in settings than LP. and can I ask where you read that 90% of users use android LP?
Yea it seems that I needed to replace my rom to fix it as it was a rom based feature.. thank you for all your assistance.

remove the 3 buttons in the home screen

I just installed froyo as per the guy said in this thread, the downgradable method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072094
But i was hoping like this update will remove the 3 home screen buttons at the bottom of the screen. Is there any way to do that?
and what about the folders for different apps? This is also not there for defy? I have sen it on galaxys!
and another thing is the wifi/bluetooth/gps widget. i thought the froyo update will bring it to the notification area. I mean after expanding the notification bar.
One another thing I wanted to ask was, is there any good looking widget for bluetooth/gps/wifi for defy?
for the widgets - try widgetsoid in the market - be sure to get widgetsoid 2.x
it offers a fair amount of customisation (colours, background fade efect, etc)
The 2.2 doesn't bring these widgets to notification bar - it depends on the custom rom
The 3 home buttons - try to change your home screen app - use adw launcher or launcher pro, or any othe type of launcher - search the web to find the best for your taste.

Lock Screen mod?

hi there, nobody posted any lock app thread yet so here it goes.
I tried Go unlock but i think it hogs the resources over time and become laggy.
anyone else can recommend a sturdy one to install?
or any good rooting mod for this to make it 100% smooth?

Try the MIUI lock screen. They made it free and available through Play Store. You have tons of styles, themes, and all you ever wanted from a lock screen..
thanks, tried MIUI just now.
It has the 3dot menu on the lock screen after setting lock screen.
so i suppose the 3dot menu mod will get rid of this.
still feel bit un-smooth with MIUI tho.
some reason the sense one is the best so far
Try this.

Does someone know a metro-style lockscreen that runs stable and hasn't got the 3dots menu enabled? I just tried a few but there was none that really worked. Unfortanetly, for I love the tiles' look alot.
Another question: is it possible to change the icons of apps on WidgetLocker? And is the 3dots menu disabled?

I run widget locker myself, lets you have all sorts of different unlockers as well as run widgets and separate wall paper, umoung other features, all on the lock screen.

Hello,
I use widgetlocker on my One X. Yes, you can change the icons af the apps. Also there is no "3dots menu".
When you install adwnotifier you also get notification-count numbers on the lockscreen like in the normal sense lockscreen (for telephone, SMS, Mail[GMail and K9]).
I like it very much and use it in combination with apex launcher on stock rom without root.
Only the sense3 lockscreen from widgetlocker is a little laggy at my phone.
Thank you. I've installed WidgetLocker now and I like it. One problem though: I've got some icons in .png format that work great with Apex Launcher. But if I try to add them in WidgetLocker, they'll get a black background instead of a transparent one. So, how can I use these icons?

[APP][SENSE 3.6/4/4A/4.5][2013/1/1 1.43]HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider

This is my second Android app. I develop this little app because I prefer 3rd party launcher (e.g. Apex) than existing Sense 4 Rosie. Existing hacked Sense 4 Rosie (full version) currently doesn't support non Sense widget correctly and is less feature-rich than many other launchers.
Even if you install a 3rd party launcher, Rosie still consume your precious memory as a system service. But if you freeze Rosie and thus release it from memory, you'll lose your lockscreen app shortcuts. After painstakingly reviewing the codes in HTC shortcut components, I found that Rosie actually act as a content provider to supply information of its launcher bar shortcuts to lockscreen. So without Rosie, lockscreen has no information to construct its shortcuts. Therefore I wrote this little app to replace the role of Rosie as the content provider. What's more, it allows you to select your own apps with a simple config screen and store the data separately. And it doesn't stay in the memory permanently.
Installation instructions:
Uninstall Rosie (Freezing doesn't work because Android doesn't allow two content providers of same type) ** You're reminded to make a backup first **
Install HTC Lockscreen Shortcut Provider
Run Lockscreen Shortcuts
Select your app for the 4 shortcuts
Hit back to save settings and notify HTC lockscreen
MD5: 7DE3FFB948E496767E2B1EFDAC26638E
** Currently this app has been tested to work with Sense 3.6, 4, 4A and 4.5 **
Change log
1.43
- Return shortcut title with empty space instead of NULL values if Hide app titles is selected
1.42
- Send broadcast notification to lockscreen on phone boot (should fix shortcut not showing issue after a reboot for TrickDroid)
1.41
- New option to hide app title
1.4
- Add support for Sense 4.5 (thanks Patrics83 for testing new version and support!). You MUST uninstall any previous version first.
1.3
- Add support for Sense 4A
1.2.1
- Fixed FC when loading installed apps
1.2
- Add support for Sense 3.6
1.1
- Added broadcast message to HTC lockscreen so no reboot is needed!
oh nice app!

I'm not sure. But is Sense 4.1 still using the app shortcuts in Rosie launcher bar for lockscreen shortcut? If yes, then I guess it probably works too.
The easiest way to find out is of course to give it a try.
This is good for desensed roms I'm guessing.

Absolutely, but I need to confirm if it works on your device too.
awesome app..very useful..!
Interesting app. I leave the Rosie launcher running though anyway because it also feeds the lockscreen widgets and message counts... Does this act as a content provider for those things as well, or just the icons?

I previously tried using other lockscreen widgets (weather and people) without Rosie and it seems to work fine. So I believe they don't rely on Rosie at all.
But I'm not sure about email or message count.
I'm thinking of the Social Lockscreen in particular. It gets its updates from the social widget in Rosie. And then of course email count comes from the email widgets in Rosie.

Actually I still think most if not all lockscreen widgets should work. Even without Rosie, we're practically still using a Sense ROM. Lockscreen shortcuts is a rare exception since HTC decided to reuse the Rosie launcher bar app shortcuts. I remember in earlier Sense, it actually allows you to define them separately.
So why don't you try and let us know?
It works. I am using productivity lock screen and everything is working. Running VenomXL rom.

Works using TN SE 3.7. with apex launcher. Thank you! I desperately wanted the shortcuts for lockscreen but didn't want to use sense... Now maybe if you could make a calculator widget for apex that would be awesome...

This is probably going to be my favorite app as the only reason I leave Rosie installed is for the shortcuts but sadly, this doesn't work on my 2.33 based ROM(Sense 4.1) What exactly do you need to make it work for that ROM? Logcat, Rosie.apk, etc?

OMG, you guys already have Sense 4.1 ROM! I can take a look at the problem if you can give me:
Rosie.apk
idlescreen_Base.apk
com.htc.resources.apk
BTW, what's the name of that ROM? And can you describe the problem so that I can have a better idea where to look.
I'm running my yet to be released ROM. The problem is that even though it says it notified the lockscreen, no shortcuts ever appear even after rebooting. And please add a apply or done button to the app because the first time I used it, I didn't know that backing out of the app was the way to set the shortcuts
And here are the files you requested
http://www.mediafire.com/?g715n7kwut1rv6z
Today I did some testing on various Sense versions and would like to let you know my findings:
Hybrid 4A (e.g. UKB X on IncS) - OK
Sense 4.1 (e.g. ViperX on One X) - OK
Sense 4A (e.g. UKB V on IncS) - No shortcuts in lockscreen
Sense 3.6 (e.g. ARHD on IncS) - Lockscreen shortcuts appears and update correctly but shortcut app cannot be launched when unlock
At this moment, my first priority is to support Sense 3.6. After that I'll work on 4A.

Post Your HomeScreen...

Hi K10 Community ?
I want to talk about "the best" launcher for our device
So if you have some idea post your HomeScreen
And let's talk about it
Google Pixel Launcher…
This is my HomeScreen
Nova Launcher
MinoS ROM 6.0.1 V1. NOVA LAUNCHER
This is my homescreen
And my app drawer
Yes, all used Launchers…
Seems like almost People are using Some Launchers, that I not used…
But after Pixel Launcher, I like Very Very Much Next Launcher, or Next Launcher 3D…

What is name of launcher, and name of widget app, is it stock one?
My homescreen. Pretty basic for now. As you can probably tell, I really like the pixel's frosted look.
Search bar is a custom KWGT widget. Pretty basic. I'd like to expand on it to have a drop down window with music controls and calendar, but I've been busy.
Phone and Messaging icons are from Whicons icon pack
Other icons are Retrorika icon pack
Launcher is Nova Launcher Prime
Rounded corners using Cornerfly....
Wallpaper changes with every unlock using Wallpaper Changer
What else...
Pie controls are from LMT Launcher, themed to match pixel style dock as best I could. Didn't spend too much time doing so, so it still looks clunky.
Hidden navbar by using adb shell to run
Code:
settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
Modified LGSystemUI.apk to hide clock in status bar.
Other status bar icons hidden using adb shell
Code:
settings put secure icon_blacklist bluetooth,alarm_clock,rotate,nfc
Umm... I think that's it. A ton of gestures with both Nova Launcher and LMT Launcher to open everything I use daily, as well as run tasker tasks, pull down notification screen, and lock screen.
Cool screeshots!! Here are mines.
Pic 1 -> Main Screen
Pic 2 -> Secondary Screen (possible widgets)
Pic 3 -> App Drawer
Pic 4 -> LockScreen
As I recently re-installed the system, specifically Android 6, I'm already testing it so I didn't focused on fully customize it for me yet. I just have all I need day by day on there.
JoeMoDo, I recommend to you to use the build.prop line (qemu.hw.mainkeys=1/0) to hide the navbar. Why? Using it insted of the shell command you use, you won't see remainder navbar on some apps, like stock camera, as other custom cams (Snap Camera), some games, etc.

I'm aware of the build.prop line, but prefer the immersive option. The only time I see the nav keys is when using the keyboard, and... I don't think any other time. Does not appear in camera. I prefer this option so the navbar can be swiped into view, and as a fallback in case the LMT service is killed (which hasn't happened, but I've experienced that on past devices).
I just reffered to that, sorry the misunderstanding.
You will solve the keyboard desappearing issue by doing that. And also I attached you 2 screenshots about what I was talking about before.
