I'm trying to instal Cyanomodgen, and have it working properly, thats my ultimate goal
I wiped my phone completely
I do CANNOT physically put my SD card to a computer atm, I'm trying to work around it
Odin does recognize my device, I can only install TWRP for some reason and not CWM with Odin ( program stops working with CWM and crashes ) I have tried different types of CWM, to no avail. I used to have it, then switched to TWRP for testing purposes
I would much rather use CWM, honestly. Any ideas why thats not working?
I am using ADB push filename.zip /sdcard/ for my cyanomodgen and when I go into my file manager I do not see my files anywhere at all, but when I go to wipe stuff, I can see there is 200mb in there( obviously its there but i cant see it )
There's a sideload.zip in there idk what that is
I've tried sideloading the cyanomodgen.zip and I get a radio error ( maybe its just the nightly file messed up, not sure )
I have tried installing CWM with heimdall, and I have to replace my phones drivers with theirs and it tells me it was successful but when I reboot I get stuck in firmware upgrade encountered an issue and the only way to fix that is to re-install the original drivers
I just tried heimdall again, failed, bout to reinstall TWRP and await further assistance.
Got CWM working, converted back to stock image and now I'm going to try this all over again, just keeping everyone updated
I fixed my phone completely, full updated and functioning properly except video not working on snapchat, other than that its perfect, i think the nightly build has something to do with my camera.
I'll leave this thread here in-case anyone has the same problem I can come back and help them.

Ok all, i think i have hit my limit of what i can think to do to fix my phone so i'm throwing this out looking for some help.
So i have run into a major problem. Starting back on the first i flashed from CyanogenMod Nightly 175 to nightly 181, 181 FC's alot on the google processes framework and such, and it was unusable so i went back to my Nightly 175 restore i had created. It was working fine until today and it became unusable, FC's for everything.
So i first started by trying to get into Safe Mode to do a restore, and RomManager FC'ed before i could get it to do anything
Then i tried to get into the restore area, same thing, FC
Tried to use the notification Tray icon to "update" to 181, same thing FC
All these steps were attempted again after a normal reboot
None worked
I then went to reboot into recovery, and it only would reboot into the Bootloader
Once in the Bootloader i tred to do the Recovery option, but all it does is reboot into the bootlaoder
I do know that i had just updated the RomManager recovery option to 5.0.2.0 or whatever the latest was. I'm wondering if there is a problem with that?
My phone was originally reflashed with unrevoked 3.
i went to dougpiston.com and got the RUU program from there after searching through some forums, but that program when run says it is unable to communicate with my phone when attempting to verify software on my phone
I also tried un-sync'ing all of the google accounts on the phone and a factory reset, but even after the reboot the last account is still there and it appears as if the factory reset did not work
I also have this posted over in CM's forums, but i was hoping maybe someone here could help.
anything is appreciated at this point

You're problem is ClockworkMod. Version 5 is a steaming heap of crap that's caused this sort of problem, not only for dInc users, but Tbolt and other device users. The solution seems to be flashing back to an older recovery. And if it works, don't fix. I'm still running version 3.something on my Tbolt and have no plans to change that. I NEVER use ROM Manager and recommend nobody ever touch it except for a few things. I almost never have it installed on any device.
OK then dumb question but if RomManager FC's on me, how do i flash back to a working version or to an alternate version entirely? i have been unable to find other ways of flashing outside of RomManager
Older Recovery versions are available on "dougpiston.com" just follow the directions.
www.dougpiston.com has what you're looking for under "recoveries". They're flashed in hboot like a radio, RUU, splash screen, etc.
Also if that doesn't work, which it probably will, you can also flash a PB31IMG which essentially is the RUU but you do not need a PC. You put that on the root of the SD (as in, not in any folders. Probably know that already...) and reboot into HBOOT (Power and volume down) and itll load it up.
Note: Make sure the file is PB31IMG.zip and not PB31IMG.zip.zip
Ha!!! got it back (well on the road to back anyways)
Was able to find a PB31IMG on dougpiston.com and hboot flashed it in (3.0.0.8). I had one on my PC but it must have been corrupt because it didn't work before. once that was working i was able to get into recovery get a restore back to my 175 nightly and am in the process now of flashing nightly 181 on there cleanly and rebuild the whole phone from scratch. damn i hope this works thanks all for help and ideas.
Nice, I actually had the same problem when I updated cwm but it was way back when they first updated to the 2.x.x recoveries. I was freakin for a bit lol....glad you got it working. Does anyone know why whenever I flash a different version of cwm I have to flash it twice?

No idea...are you using ROM Manager?
I flashed a ROM and now I can't make it past the boot image. I'm not sure why. It's been there for the past few minutes. So I pulled battery and went to bootloader to boot to recovery and retry. Recovery and root is working fine, but somehow it says I have an update package on my SDCard....so now my only two choices are to install or not to install and reboot.
Since I can install an update package, I think it does mean that nothing vital is screwed up. I've just been checkmated.
Now how do I enter recovery? I know I can always install an HTC update package via ADB, but I don't want to lose root and have to reroot and all.
So is there some way I can get into recovery without bootloader?
Thanks
EDIT: It looks like there's some way to boot into recovery using android SDK, but I can't figure it out. Any help?
EDIT2: I don't have a micro SD card reader, so I can't delete the pesky update package (it might be some boot.img I downloaded but never got around to)
Final EDIT+ Solved
For those who didn't understand SDK and ADB, this was a great help:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6K1XLmafPc
Actually I realized that I could boot into bootloader and then recovery without an SD card. Lawd have mewcy on idiots like me When it started getting into 4ext I popped in my SDcard again and booted right in. Everything should now be fine.
On a side note, I realized I forgot to backup my previous ROM in my haste to see if MIUI Camera worked on certain ICS roms (I got it completely working in blackout, and partially working in NeroXL). I hope to god I'll like XGS, because this was more effort than I'd like to spend on my phone.
I'll leave it to the Mods decision on whether or not to delete this, maybe this info will help others.
Was running a Rotted stock Rom which is flashed with CWM. All was fine until i tried to install Google official 4.2.1 update. That messed up something and now i cant get it to boot. I wiped everything in CWM but nothing. Also been trying to connect it to PC to transfer a new ROM but i dont know why the mount sdcard option is not working.
1) you were not on a 100% stock rom, so dont ever take a OTA
2) the mount sdcard will never work on this phone as there is no sdcard
3) do yourself a favor and follow this (it even has a section on how to root your phone): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Restore
Try this it has always worked for me and I have bricked my phone many, many times. I find this to be so much easier than all the other ways out there, but that's just me.

Your recovery version is pretty old, considering cwm 6.0.3.6 is the newest...
So is there anyway to fix this ?
Download ROM Manager from the PlayStore and let it install the latest CWM, or download GooManager and have it install TWRP.
So far as the computer, you'll need to be more specific about 'talk to'.
Might need drivers, might need a new cable, can't tell from what you said.
I think if he wiped already he wont be able to download from the play store, if im reading the OP correctly, you already wiped the device, you flashed the 4.2.2 or 4.2 and it aborted..correct?
Step 1. Okay here's what you can do since the PC isnt reading your phone, reboot or restart your pc put phone in odin/download mode and see if it reads it now. If it does Odin a stock rooted rom, then get goomanger from the play store and install open script recovery which will give you the twrp recovery, then you can attempt the flash again of the 4.2 based rom.
Step 2. If it still isnt reading after a pc restart load your old rom on an sd card and try to flash the old tw rom with that older cwm recovery and see if you can get back at least to a tw rom. If that doesnt work then pull the battery out your phone let it sit for 2min, put the battery back in and get into odin/download mode, and see if pc recognizes the device and connection, if it doesnt, download kies and it might help with the connection issue.
Did that help bro. Let me know?

Op stated the he made a full backup. Should be able to boot directly into recovery and restore the backup?
thanks for the info everyone . the operating system is gone so no luck on play store.
mrkevo3000 yes the roms got aborted half way its weird why it would do that.... my phone has always had issues.
just like that as i am typing this my phone is now recognized by odin so i will what you said load up stock and the reflash my backup and then update cwm.
I will try and update and againg to 4.2.2 and let you know what happens.
I have seen so many flavors any preference one somethiong that might work on i747m ?
ill update this after recovering my phone and attempting reflash.
Also for some reason my sd card is not recognized by cwm and it is only looking at internal again never did this to me before thats why i got stuck.
Last time i attempted a update for some reason my apn settings were locked and could not be changed.
I did the same stupid thing myself. Really can not believe I did it but i was rushing and didn't read what it was, thinking i was doing something else. Was not worried as I had my trusty nandriod backup -.- . I guess I can consider myself lucky as i took it to telus hoping they would buy my story and they sent it to the samsung repair center. Worried all week that if they checked it would be clear i had voided the warranty and i would be paying a high repair cost or buying a new phone. Well I got the phone back an hour ago and they fixed it.... no charge. I guess I can consider myself very lucky.

I would use odin 1.85 and odin a rooted stock 4.1.2 rom.. then go to the playstore and download goomanger and get the teamwin recovery, by hitting menu inside goomanger app, and installing the open script recovery which will install the teamwin recovery, you can flash any pure google rom with that recovery, before you do make a nandroid of your current setup and then flash away, get into a habit of doing at least one back and check the md5 hash of the roms before you flash away... download using your pc instead of phone browsers, sometimes mobile browsers corrupt the files.

Hey All!
I have this very interesting problem with my SGH-T989D.
I have for years been installing customs ROMs unto my phone. The last ROM I used was CM11 20141201 Sultan Hercules, with the provided GApps. This was installed using CWM 6.0.4.3. I ran this for months with no issues. Earlier this week, I decided I would try something else. I rebooted and went into CWM recovery and did a few things first. I went and Fixed permissions, and formatted various partitions, and also did a factory reset/wipe of the device. Now when I fixed permissions the time it took seemed odd too me. Like almost a minute, and since then I have been having install issues like crazy. So, I basically ended up using ODIN 1.85 to flash a stock ROM I had from T-Mobile. Which seemed to work fine. When i was satisfied the phone was functioning properly, I then proceeded to install CWM 6.0.4.3 using ODIN. It flashed successfully, and it rebooted my device. However, it brought me to the ODIN emergency download window. where it tells you to plug in your phone to the pc and use KIES to recover to the device. Ok, fine I thought to myself, I'll try that. Now KIES doesn't recognize my device. It's definitely not a driver issue because it used to work fine before these problems. I am assuming it has something to do with the firmware counter on my device. Since it says it's at 6 now, even though it's an official ROM. I have also tried using Lorains thread to re-partition the internal memory using the his unmodified PIT file. But Odin crashes at the SET PARTITION screen when trying to flash it So, honestly I'm at a dead end as to what's going on with my device at the moment. Even when I try to flash an early stock version of a Telus ROM, it just keeps going back to emerg ODIN screen, even though ODIN flashes successfully.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? If you require more information I will do my best to answer.
Thanks a million in advance.

I think you might have to re-partition your phone. Sultan's ROMs partition your phone a certain way and there is a fix for your phone somewhere on here to allow you to install regular types of custom roms.
