It will not work if your bootloader is unlocked or you are rooted. Why use isis anyhow, it blows donkey balls!

I am living, breathing proof that this isn't true.
I am running the latest stock+ rom. My bootloader is unlocked and I am rooted and S-off (I used firewater first thing, no OTAs or other updates were applied). I use ISIS and Google Wallet just fine on my M8.
You have to use the "ISIS Root Bypass" Xposed module to get around the root block.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2425346
I'll give you one good reason to use ISIS. For me as a T-mobile customer, I get $1 back for every "qualified" transaction. I like to visit the vending machines at Costco which accept ISIS payments (in the Seattle area) and have many items that are $1. That's right, when I spend $1 to get a bag of Sun Chips or a Snickers bar, that $1 comes back to me so it ends up being free. Unfortunately, if you buy something that is $0.75, you don't get the $1 back. For a second there I thought I could make a quarter per transaction.
It's important to make every purchase to be a separate transaction or you will only get a total of $1 back instead of $1 for each item you purchase.
Be sure to read the fine print but experiment for yourself and see how it works out.
T-Mobile Original Build.prop
I recently switched over to android and bought an M8 GPE hoping to use it with ISIS on T-Mobile. I used to use an iPhone on T-Mobile so I couldn't use ISIS. I've been trying for the past few days to get ISIS running, but nothing has worked (Market Helper, I tried to restore a T-Mobile M8 Nandroid backup, which failed, sideloading APK's, etc). Would you mind sending me your T-Mobile build.prop? Or do you have any idea how I could get ISIS to work on a GPE phone. I'd love to be able to convert it to a T-Mobile phone somehow, but googling how to make that conversion is useless because all I get is results about people converting their T-Mobile version to GPE... Appreciate the help. Thanks!

Thanks! I managed to grab the build.prop file I wanted. However, after editing it and rebooting or replacing it and rebooting, there seems to be a system in place that replaces the edited build.prop file with the original. Any thoughts on how to get around this?

Just curious, why not Google Wallet instead of ISIS?

I was jw how long it would be before we get a working version of wallet again since Google implemented a root checker. I remember that Google videos checked for root access but a work around was made. Could the same work around be made for wallet?

My wallet works fine with root?
I was just coming to post about this, here is my question:
Has anybody that is getting the "unsupported device" notification at the top of the Google Wallet home screen actually tried using Google Wallet yet? We're you successful?
As for a root workaround, OTA RootKeeper works just fine for me on other apps.. Google Video & Flixster. Problem is, Google Wallet isn't actually checking root, it's checking something else.. Maybe ROM version or kernel version?.
Sure it's prob a good idea Google warn that root+Wallet might not be the most secure. but is it "unsupported" as in, "if you can't get it working or if negative things happen because of root we are not responsible"? Or "unsupported" as in "if you try to use this on a rooted device we will not let you and you will look foolish at the store"? It's not very clear about that..

Sure, in the past every bodies has, this is a new topic regarding the "unsupported device" yellow flag on the GW home screen. This will just appear magically as of yesterday. No update of GW is needed/required to get this "unsupported" tag, it has just mysteriously appeared with little to no explaination of what it means.
I'm still just having the "Prepaid is unavailable" error. I can't wait for something else to come and actually work. GW fails atm.
Just checked with Google CS. Unsupported means that it soon not work at all.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I get the unsupported device as well 4.0.4 rooted. I might try and go to 4.0.4 without root and see what happens (if it makes a difference)

I also just spoke with GW CS, according to what I was told "unsupported" means if there is a glitch in the app causing it to not work correctly (pressing a button does not work and so on..), Google is not responsible for troubleshooting the app. Google Wallet should continue to function properly on rooted devices. Google currently has no plans of making Google Wallet unusable on rooted devices. If you lose your phone, you can still cancel/ retrieve your funds, in the words of the rep I spoke with "Your money is your money". so not sure who you spoke with or why you were told different than me, but according to the rep I just got off the phone with you are incorrect.
My 2 cents...
VZW just replaced my GN because I was having radio problems (they screwed me with a refurb .9 hardware, but that is another story...)
On my first GN I just sent back after a wipe, I was using both the officially supported Citi Mastercard and the Google Prepaid card.
When I got my replacement, I couldn't re-add my Citi Mastercard and my Google Prepaid card was showing the "free" $10 credit, but I actually had more than that amount as a pre-paid balance because I had added funds to it.
So, I called Google/Citi support and they had to do something on their end to allow me to add my Citi MasterCard back on the phone, because when I was trying to do it myself it kept giving me an error that my info was incorrect. So, Citi customer service was able to fix that and I now have my credit card registered.
However, I still can't add funds to the Google Pre-Paid card from either another credit card or a rebate gift card I have. I spoke to Google about that and they said that at this time, you cannot add funds to the pre-paid account because they are issuing an update for the wallet app by the end of this week.
Hope that helps someone else...

I was able to add $20 to my Google Pre-Paid card a few hours ago. Several days ago I tried to use my VZW "referral" rebate card that VZW sent me and it wouldnt add the funds. I'm about to run down to the Walgreens now and try to make a purchase. I don't expect I will have any problems but if I do I will report them back here.

Nope. You're unlocking to allow other networks. It won't do anything to the bootloader at all so you'll stay S-ON.
Worked perfect. Now my One X is carrier unlocked for less than 2€.

I ordered mine at 2333 last night and arrived at 1310 so you may have to wait a while
works perfect had my code back in 30 seconds ,i did loose £1.44 because i used the iIMEI code from the package, but it was different from the phone, but £2 88 to unlock very cheap yes 10 out of ten
Glad I saw this. Even if there is a free way sorted soon - £1.44 to get it done now is cheap. I'd gladly pay more (3 said they would do it for £15)
Once the phone is unlocked will it then be able to get the 1.28 OTA?
i thought unbranded came unlocked and if you were branded, then you tell your carrier to unlock your phone and they are going to do it for free to keep your business. the only thing that would cost money is data roaming. i might be wrong.

Do you have a link to an up-to-date Market Enabler? Something that works with Jelly Bean and the Play Store? I've been digging through threads looking for one, and I can't find an official thread for one. There's one called "Market Access" (sorry, I don't have enough posts to include an outside link here) that will apparently do it, but I'm hesitant to install something from a random link.

Try to add money to your Google prepaid card. It did not work for me, even if my Canadian Visa has a US billing address. I think it detects the institution who released the card and blocks it. I purchased my Nexus directly from Google Play, using the same card. From what I heard, they detect also if your phone is rooted or non-stock ROM:
We strongly discourage gaining system-level "root" access to your phone if you plan to use Google Wallet. We are unable to support devices with unauthorized operating systems as the security layers of the device may be limited.

Do you really think Google is that stupid to allow adding a credit card with a fake address like others are trying to do?
Anyways, I have a Canadian credit card with an official US billing address on it. Guess what, Wallet does not work at all on Bell. Even if I put my T-Mobile SIM card on the phone, I'm pretty sure it will not work also with a Canadian card as the financial institution is not registered into Google's Money Network.
We have to wait like every one else... until Google decides to open Wallet in Canada, if it will.
At the rate they open products in Canada, we should have it enabled in about 10 years.
Ya I agree. Its stupid. Sorry Google but USA isn't the only country in the world. This the usa likes to think so. Lol

You get 25 bucks for signing up.. on AT&T at least.. and it will not, I repeat, will not work on rooted devices. It's not even available in the play store. After I registered and got the SIM, it wouldn't work so I unrooted my i747, as I live in salt lake city, and I received the 25 bucks used it, and rooted it again. Google wallet IS a lot better though.
The card companies really ought to put pressure on the carriers to allow Google Wallet, seeing as more of the major players are on-board with it. Or maybe they should learn from Microsoft + IE's anti-trust issues - even IE isn't as bad in the sense that you can use IE to download another browser - it would be comparable if the carriers made ISIS bloatware that you couldn't uninstall - but they go a step further and bar you from using an alternative. I call BS.
I think ISIS is making their service too much about branding the experience - this "ISIS Ready" business when you can use it any place that accepts NFC already (payWave, PayPass, etc).
I've been using NFC in my card at my local grocery store for several years - personally I feel it encourages adoption to let people know clearly that they can use the Wallet anywhere they already might "tap" their card - and that it's the same process (ie, I must select "credit" even though the card is attached to my checking account). Promoting a brand is great and important - but so is integrating with your costumers' lives in a way that doesn't confuse and segment their ideas about NFC payment terminals.
I dunno, maybe average people are more n00bish than I am and have never used NFC in a card and need a pat on the back to know "yes, your ISIS-thingy will work here". But, still, ISIS ? WTF does a mobile wallet have to do with an Egyptian goddess who pieced her dead husband's body-parts back together ? At least name it after a deity of wealth or something awesome.

Thanks. Despite my better judgment I tried Cell Unlocker and they provided a code that didn't work (on original 4.3 ROM and SlimBean ROM, provided them with the video, and screenshots, etc). I'm trying to get my $30 buck back. (stupid I know but I was desparate). Wish I had known about sammobile.
Anyway I tried the code they provided I'm worried I'd spend more money and the code won't work again and it will freeze my phone (how many tries do I have?).
Could you please tell me what is the Qualcomm NV Tools doing and how will that help unlock the phone? Also these are for GT-I9305. The *#7284# code didn't work so I'm worried the rest of the instructions won't work for now.
For anyone reading this, the cellunlcoker.net service failed to unlock my 4.3 OTA and has so far not refunded my purchase so beware.

Thanks. I did see that thread but they do not work for phones upgraded to 4.3. And currently there is no safe way to go back to 4.1.1 to try it as far as I know.

Really? I did call them today and the support told me yeah we get this question a lot but we can't do it as long as you have a contract. I did tell her I want this for international travel. Native I should try a different number.
Is there a specific number I should call? Should I tell them anything specific? I'd appreciate it.

Call when you to your 1st foreign destination and just tell them I am in so and so country and need to unlock my phone for use of a local sim

Thanks I will try this. I guess I shouldn't try calling while I'm still in US.
I didn't find the reference for them being legally obligated to unlock the phones for travel. do you have a reference? I think they are obligated if you have finished your contract but not just for travel.

I just called them again (the international number). They refused to unlcok the phone until the contact is up.
I tried the code cellunlocker.net provided me again but this time after going back to the official 4.3 ROM and it worked.
So for anyone looking for a solution right now the only way is to use an unlock code from a 3rd party (I paid $30) on the OFFICIAL ROM. I used SlimBeans rom first and it did not work. After the unlock you can go to a custom rom (I went back to SlimRom and it works great).
Hope there will be a free solution soon.
They gave me the unlock code for both of my galaxy s3's upon request one on contract one off contract and the aurthorized apple to unlock my IPhone4 under contract all in the same day 3 different customer service representatives, on 3 seperate calls, as they said it was policy to only provide one code per call. This was last year in december.
you should be aware that you can "buy out" your contract it will be prorated (IRRC $10) for each month you have had your phone and paid your bill in the last 24 months. you have to speak to the customer retention/ cancelations department and voice to them your distaste with their business practices and you would like to buy out your contract to have your phone unlocked for use with other networks while traveling abrod.

Thanks. Yeah I was hoping this would work for me but the customer rep refused to do it. As I mentioned the customer rep I had talked to before in support and and also once in chat refused it. So I don't know if they've changed their practices or maybe I'm just unlucky. The account is always paid on time and I think has only 7-8 months left on contract so I don't think there is a problem on our account.
I plan to move to nexus phones and T-mobile for my next upgrade. AT&T and Samsung both lost my business.

This thread is about unlocking the phone not flashing a custom rom.
That being said it looks like you either have an incorrect version of the rom or it's happening because your recovery is outdated. Install the latest TWRP or CWM and try again. Make sure that you have a nandroid backup first.
I have no experience with i747m. Choose the correct version of the rom for your phone and try again.
I like SlimRoms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2539313
make sure the ROM you choose is correct for your phone.
Or try CM easy installer:
