When I log in and the upper right it says I have one new notification. When I open that up and try to go to the new post quote page (which is the new notification) the page comes up 404.
Private messages, new friend requests work. But new post quotes is 404.

Same problem. What to do?
+1
Yup the "New Post Quotes" link starts out as: http://forum.xda-developers.com/usertag.php?do=profilenotif&tab=quotes and redirects to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/quotes
Same with "New Mentions", it starts out as: http://forum.xda-developers.com/usertag.php?do=profilenotif&tab=mentions and redirects to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mentions
page is fixed now, thanks!
Yep. Werkin now. Thanks whomever.
Yes, all fixed, thanks.

The links in my email notifications often takes me somewhere in the middle of a thread, instead of to the last post (regardless if I use my computer or my G1).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475689&goto=newpost
puts me in the middle of the thread - but only on first attempt! Now that I try it, it takes me to the last post. Might have to do something with how Google handles links in GMail

Hi Mats,
It takes you to the first post after you last read the thread. If that post happens to be in the middle of the page, you will be taken there. When you click the link the second time, it assumes you have read all the entries on that page. So, if there is a another page (after the one you just read), it will take you to the top of that page.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Dave
Hey guys i'm sorry to post in this section but i don't know where i can post!
So, i've a problem, people don't receive my PM on xda, and i don't know why :/
Help me please for fixe it!
That's really weird.
It must have something to do with your internet connection.
It's best to move this thread to the 'about xda-developers' section.
use the red triangle in the right top of your post to ask to move your thread.
Moved to About XDA.
Try to send me a PM.
I'll pass this on to Admin.
I've sent you a PM to test if you can receive / reply...
Dave
I waiting the reply from DaveShaw...
If it works it's my HomePC beacause i used my laptop rightnow
You have your reply
Dave

welcome to xda
I expect that to be a different restriction you are suffering from: it's applying to junior members to help prevent spam
you might notice two other ones: posting urls and creating a signature won't work either until you have 10+ posts (far as i know)
so with a little patience this should resolve itself
if not post here and I will notify a moderator/admin for you
best
Thanks for your reply and explanation!
I'll try to get a few posts then... but hey, gently without spamming
Cheers
Hi guys,
I now have +10 posts and still have the impression I cannot send PMs. When composed a message, I click submit and I'm directly referred to the PM overview page with this text: "Private Messages in Folder: Inbox"
When I check my 'Sent items' there still empty. Thanks in advance!

I'll pm you, lets see if reply works
It may simply be that your Private Messaging is turned off.
Go to User CP on the brown bar above. Choose Edit Options on the page that appears.
Scroll down slowly through many options and you will find an option to turn on and off Private Messaging (both sending and Receiving).
NB When finished don't forget to click SAVE at the bottom of the page.
(If Private Messaging is enabled already, try unchecking it (save) then go back and recheck it and save again.)

hi
out of curiosity: pm usage works immediately (if setup correctly) or is it part of the anti-spam-pack?
in case the issue comes up again I prefer passing on facts instead of speculating like I did this time
thx

To be honest I don't know (it is possible it is part of the anti-spam measures) - I'll try to find out.
Mike
Or the other possibility is that the setting to save sent pm's isn't on as that could make you think that it's not sent.
I have a similar problem : I can use PM (I received some, and received answers from mine), but I cannot see any message in the outbox...

You need to enable this option in your forum profile options.
Click here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/profile.php?do=editoptions
Find the "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default" option and tick the box to enable it

No problem
I think it's not ticked by default, as they add to the overall PM quota, and most people don't really need a copy of sent PMs.
Hello I've found a bug, probubly. I wanted to write private mail to user "SlimShady's" (eg. author of this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2622069 ) but I've got this error message:
-----------
Sorry, we encountered an error processing your request. Please go back and retry or wait a minute.
The Administrators have been notified of this error
------------
I thing it is because the apostrophe, when I write to someone else, there is no problem.
Looking forward, Matt.

I have sent PM to that user. It could easily send by me.
Just click on User's name. A pop up will appeared. Click on Send Private Message to User. Now you can easily send PM to user.
Thanks

hmm.. strange to me.. i've also tried it in chrome and opera on two different computers.. same everywhere.
Got a bit of a weird one to report here. It appears that anytime one clicks on the "subscriptions" link, (forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php) it automatically directs to the registration page (https://forum.xda-developers.com/register.php?from=permissions). This is the page that is linked to from the "quick links" at the top.
In the meantime, I've found a workaround: https://forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription links to the subscription page as well as the original did.
Just thought I'd report this problem so that it doesn't confuse other folks.
Fixed!
Looks like it's working now. Whatever you did, it worked. :good:
Hi. I noticed that for any thread I visit and try to go to any other page via the buttons, the page simply reloads. For example, in a thread, I want to see page 2 to see if there are new comments. I click the 2 in the page buttons (the one with numbers and arrows for previous/next page), then the page reloads and the 1st page is still shown. Same for any number I click on. Strangely, this doesn't happen when I click the "Last Page" button...
I'm assuming this is either a bug or something wrong on my end, but I don't know which.

Not the case here. Please refer to attached screenshots; file names show how fast the shots were taken i.e. pages also loaded very fast.
Maybe a browser issue on your side?
EDIT: Just tested via XDA Labs, too. No issues. Please refer to additionally added screenshots.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it was site-wide or just me. I guess it's just me, but I don't know why. It could be my browser (I could try on another browser just in case).

It's not just you. The site is basically unusable for me too. Firefox on Android.
EDIT: Didn't see that this was an old thread, my forums are really messed up. My bad.
This should be fixed now. Let me know if it isn't.
