So has anyone else come across this issue?
I haven't tested the google music player, but using Pandora, metadata were not being sent to the bluetooth player, just like the note 3 before it was updated to KK.
Any one else experience this?
Bump!
Really miss that feature. I listen to a lot of unknown music in my car through Google play Music and i liked the metadata in my headunit. Tried several players to no avail.
Any Solutions yet?

I'm having this issue as well. Mazda 3 nav unit. Very annoying.
Bumping this. I'm getting no tags (2nd gen Mazdaspeed 3). Some people have said they get it for music on the device just not for streaming i.e. Pandora. I get none from the built-in music player or Poweramp (or anything else). My GNex worked perfectly in this regard (after rooting and upgrading the BT stack), kinda disappointing that it doesn't work on a brand new handset.
Have been playing with the BT-settings in the secret service menu. Tried checking and unchecking SIG profiles , Apt X, LG AVRCP 1.3, starting and stopping services in all combinations to no avail.
It is even written there in the menu. Just doesn't work. Shiznitz.

I'm not aware of that menu. There's also the "Audio channel" setting in the bluetooth options, but it looks like that would disable the calls/notifications... I also tried that AutoAudio app, it displays the info properly in the app, still doesn't show in the car though.
Tap 3845#*855# in the Dialer - brings you straight to the Service menu.

I seem to recall this being the case on my S3 when it ran 4.4.2 and it got fixed when it bumped to 4.4.3, so maybe it's the android version that's the issue. I noticed the same thing and that was my first thought.
I was having the same problem and can confirm that autoaudio fixed the problem in my 2014 Kia soul with the infinity audio upgraded head unit with nav. Works fine now ??
I was thumbing through some system files and I found this.
In the Bluetooth system settings, it shows a confirmation of using AVRCP 1.4 instead of 1.3.
Since I can't make a back up and I'm afraid of doing harm to my Verizon G3 (again,) maybe someone can look into this?
Its under system > etc > bluetooth as a file called device_config.xml
Just a thought.
I can confirm the Autoaudio app works on my ATT D850 and my Ford. I use Beats Music and it shows track information in my car.
On my ATT 850, tags work around 50-60% of the time. It's strange. There's also quite a noticeable delay between tracks.

I am having a problem with the ESPN Radio App. The app opens and I am able to listen to the podcasts and sportscenter but it will not connect to any of the stations. It shows the circular arrows and says connecting but after a few seconds, it just fails and a square "stop" appears.
Is anyone else having this issue?
I am running Fresh 3 (froyo 2.2) with the updated radios.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks
My guess is Fresh did the poor AAC streaming performance fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737111 Do the "test" in Post 13 and see if it doesn't say "false".
I did so manually with another rom and found that (in my case) Yahoo Music Radio would not stream. Once I undid the fix, it streamed no problems.
Strictly conjecture: the newer apps (Yahoo, ESPN, etc.) made adjustments to the Froyo changes. Thus, maybe the "fix" actually broke the new apps. Pandora, on the other hand, hasn't updated in quite a while.
I have only tested it on Yahoo but that is my conclusion.
Thanks... I was able to connect to ESPN live streams if I am connected to wifi. So i guess it is only unable to connect with I am on sprint 3g/4g.
Does that help?
I will try the test later... I am unable to do it right now because I am not at home.
thanks

My espn radio app works fine after the 2.2 update. But now after the 2.2 update you dont need the app anymore. Just go to espnradio.com and launch the player..with the new flash upgrade the player works just like it does on a regular computer.
Yea but if you put the browser in tbe background, it stops. Mine is still not working. Here's hoping for a fix.

I would recommend checking out this suggestion. I was unable to stream any radio stations although pandora worked fine. I checked and confirmed that this fix was in fact applied on the ROM. I removed the fix and I am now able to stream my radio stations again without using Wifi. The apps I'm using are Cherry rplayer and also iheartradio. HTH and to the original poster I quoted, thanks.

A clue to the issue?
I've been following this issue for a few days.
I have a T-mobile GS3 on CM 10.1. Ran the update to Play Music and it crashes as well.
It looks like the issue might be too many songs on the device. Not sure what the threshold is, but unmounting my SD (which has about 5500 songs on it) prevented Play Music from crashing. So this looks like a confirmation of the cause, at least on my device. Hopefully they fix this soon.
I'm not sure I dig the new version, though. Where did the Instant Mix go?? I guess it's a radio station now, but that pulls things in from Listen Now. What if I just want my music?

Looks like the update doesn't like too many songs. Deleted a few hundred and it works.
It's being fixed. Saw an article about the same issue and Google was working on an update to fix the issues with crashing and not properly closing its background process.

After reading that people were saying they had issues related to SD card storage I turned on the 'apps must request permission to read sd card' in case that was somehow related and re-installed. working for 5 mins without a crash now (never happened before)....

Google Play Music Crashes
Hey, bought my Note 3 in February 2014. My Google Play music keeps crashing. There hasn't been a post on here in a long time. Does anyone know how to fix this?? Please help!
Are there any solutions for the problems the LGOG has with Play Music All Access?
As-is, songs stop playing about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through, with the error "Music temporarily unavailable. Couldn't play the stream you requested."
This happens regardless of network connection... It was fixed when I tried out CM10, but it had so many other stability problems that it wasn't worth keeping as a daily ROM.
Apparently a lot of LGOG users have this problem, should I just cancel and go with Spotify? I really like All Access, but if there's no solution for the errors I guess there's no option.
I really liked the service, but couldn't stand the errors anymore. I canceled and went with spotify.

Got the new version (v5.2.1224L) this morning. At first I thought it might be working but after a couple of songs, it resumed this annoying behavior.
Ok so I'm using my free trial of play music all access and I love it but question, when I select to "Keep Music on Device" and it says it's downloading, does that mean I get to keep it permanently? Even after the trial is up?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
No. Only music you buy is kept. However, if you are a music addict like I am, the 9 bucks is worth it. If you don't renew your subscription, your music will disappear. If you start using all access again, your music will come back.

I just flashed back to stock today, and I have noticed that Play Music is better, but I still have issues. It will let me play a few songs (I got through 5) and I get the Music Playback Error. When I try to resume, it gives me the error immediately, but if I rewind the song, it allows me to play a few more songs.
I am going to try and disable caching and see how that affects it.
All of my testing thus far has been on Wifi (20Mbps fiber connection), so it definitely is not an internet issue.
Yeah the errors started up again for me too, but much more infrequently. Still frequent enough to be a huge nuisance though

I have logged a case with Google Play Support. They had me go through clearing app data, etc. Of course, this didn't work, so they asked for a logcat. I sent them two logs showing multiple occurrences of the error.
So far, they have been very responsive. I sent the ticket in yesterday evening and got a response within 15 minutes. Hopefully, their engineering team can figure out what is going on from my logcats.

Possible solution
Hi,
I had this problem 3 months ago for the first time and I have not been able to solve it with any ROM I've tried. Then someone suggested me to install the app Disable service and going to system services menu, uncheck "check in service" in the google services. It works!
Now the problem appears only 1 or 2 times a week... I think the matter is that sometimes the app disable service doesn't start automatically or can't obtain root permissions.
Try it... and good luck!

I had the no-sound-issue with the UCOA2, too. I don't think updating the Radio helps to solve this problem in general.
I've testet the tip, to disable "Ceckinservice" previously, and first, it seems to work, but than the no-sound-issue appeared again.
About check in service
Hi DavidMLondon,
I don't know what google check in service does, but I don't use google now so I can't say if it's necessary for that or no. I had no general problem disabling check in service and as I said, before that I had the no sound in call problem every day (also two times....I mean 2 reboot needed), now I have it 1 or 2 times at week.... I don't know why...
I´m not sure this is caused by the same issue but maybe there is something into it.
So well I´m still on 5.0.2. It´s the latest release before Arne switched over to 5.1.1. Baseband is COC2.
By reading about your mic issues I wanted to check if my device is involved into it as well as I never had to deal with this issue. So Used the OK Google function first and then I called myself from a stationary phone. All was fine. Just later my wife called me and all I could hear is a horrible noise comming out of my speaker. The phone app crashed and keept crashing till I rebooted the device.
Then I disabled OK Google detection and all is fine so far. At least for normal calls. Just am experiencing something simmilar by making calls via Whatsapp. When the connection is bad and I´m getting the reconnect signal, my mic stops working when it gets reconnected again. It also keeps not to work when I finish the call and recall the person.
Now I'm on 30/06 nigthly and COD3 baseband and can't reproduce the issue, all working.
Does people have the no sound issue have disabled vibrations on soft touch buttons? This is the first time I left that enabled after a clean install and all works good.

Then disable the "OK Google" detection and also disable Google play services' "checkinservice".
I had this issue today. i heard the first few words of the caller then the sound went intermittent 'robotic' for a sec and then it was silent. the next call as well. I rebooted i had no calls for an hour it worked after. but i had this on prev builds just didnt know it was my phone causing it, thought its the network maybe, but now im sure its not. im checking my baseband ver a bit later, and i might try to update it.
my current modem is I9195XXUBML4.
Hey people. I just made the move to 5.1.1 using Tipsy ROM available on Google+ and was suffering from similar issues like you lot. My calls would sometimes lose sound or drop or sound very distorted. I also had problems with Google voice search. I was using the latest modern COD3 from a stock kit Kat. But dev had no such issues. So I changed my modem to the one the ROM dev was using which was an older version xxucnk5 and all my phone call issues disappeared including Google voice search issues. Don't know of this helps anyone? Using i9195 LTE here.
If someone could test the following, that would be great.
