Hello guys I was trying to root my Lg G pro E980 for AT&T. In my haste and eagerness to attain root on my device, I failed to notice some of the warnings in the OP. This is what I used to try to obtain root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362657 As you can see, it states that it does not work on AT&T 10p. After trying (and failing). My phone would no longer detect my sim card! I tried factory resetting with no luck. I also tried taking the sim card out and restarting without the sim and then reboot with the sim. This did not work either. Searching for networks yielded a network error. If it matters, my phone is unlocked and using a T mobile sim. I was working perfectly before the failed root attempt and now I get no service connectivity at all! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Update: I flashed the phone to an earlier stock version of the AT&T rom using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660 and it still does not seem to read my T-mobile sim or an AT&T sim either! Please, any help at all is appreciated!

Have you still got an IMEI number? If you haven't that is why your phone cannot read the sim. If you don't have an IMEI, it is because your EFS has been corrupted but that shouldn't happen when rooting. If you have an EFS backup flash that, otherwise you have to take it to a service centre as there is no way to write an IMEI number onto your phone.

I bought an AT&T S3 and factory unlocked it, it worked perfectly on T-Mobile's 3G/4G network. But then I decided to flash a custom kernel, stupid me. After rebooting, found out i was stuck on edge and IMEI number was "lost".
I flash the stock rom back on and that didn't work so I used peoplearmy's guide to inject the IMEI number back into the phone. I even tried his other method to get 3G data back, but no go.
So i have the IMEI number back on and everything but I'm still stuck on "EGDE: 2".
I've tried the WCDMA Preferred method but that didn't work. So does anybody know how to get 3G/4G back on?
Any help will be appreciated Thanks.
EDIT: Alright solved this problem. If your having the sane problem just use peoplearmy's imei tool to inject it back in. After that back it up again by putting it in diagnostic mode and using qpst. Then (here's how you get 3G/4G data back on your AT&T S3 with T-Mobile network) use peoplearmy's qnc generator tool to generate a T-Mobile back up and restore that back to your phone and BOOM! Your done! You can find peoplearmy's thread on xda. Or Google "fix/tool qnc" and it should be the first result

Thanks for the reply
I actually tried this already and was able to get my imei back on my phone. But im stuck on "EDGE:2" while before i was able to get t-mobiles 3g/h+, thats what im trying to do.
Hi, my note 2 T889V is on stock rom right now with TMOBILE baseband. Flashing WIND modem will result the phone in bootloop. When I insert my WIND sim card, I can see the WIND and WIND AWAY APNs but it's unable to register. However, when I insert my TMOBILE sim card, it sees ROGERS APN and can register as roaming.
Some additional details: There is a thread with the title "SGH-t889V Stuck in Bootloop with Stock ROM" Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119074 with similar problem. I have started this thread since my problem is not the bootloop if that make any sense? I did follow that thread instruction to get where I am now ie fixed bootloop and IMEI.
Phone was working fine since I got it until a recent bad flash. SIM card is working and able to register on WIND network when inserted in a TMOBILE phone.
I appreciate any help I can get, thanks.

Odin original stock and start from scratch..... or try a custom rom....or flash the Tmo radios.
resolved
Thanks but I have tried that already, in the end this is what resolved my issue:
I went across this site
http://galaxynote2root.com/galaxy-no...te-2-sgh-i317/
It's a tutorial on how to enable aws on the AT&T note 2. It had just what i needed: a qcn file. Ive follwed the directions on the site; flashed the qcn file with the QPST software and rebooted the phone.

Try another KDZ method. your .kdz file is probably > 1GB so maybe this can work.

Dear olcimanic,
Thanks a lot Borther. I can flash my optimus G by F180s jellybean. But after that i have the problem of network fluctuations and sometimes no network. what can i do brother? please make a way for me.
regards
Clickanu,
Try to flash the latest 4.1.2 for your phone's original model(the model, when you bought it F180S i believe), through kdz. But remove the Sim card before flashing... Once successfully flashed, Please setup the phone for initial setup without the sim card. Once set up is complete, switch off your phone, insert sim card, reboot and search for your network operator manually, sometimes automatic searching doesn't work well.. this is just an idea, not sure, how far this will work, also, always keep in 2G, use it for sometime or somedays and then start using 3G...

Ok So I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy s3 (SGH-T999L) (LTE Version). I previously rooted it and installed custom ROM using Cyanogenmod, then changed to TWRP later. Then, i wanted to revert to stock and unrooted my phone. I was told to install latest firmware and did so (Android 4.3 T999LUVUBOH1). Since then, i went from T-Mobile to MetroPCS. The phone is unlocked. When trying to use metropcs sim card on s3, it works for about 5 minutes (able to call & text), then all of a sudden i get NO SIGNAL and cannot do ANYTHING! I used my husband's metropcs sim card and same thing happened. Then, I tried my mom's AT&T sim card and it did seem to work fine for awhile. I tried accessing mobile networks to change APN while I had my mom's sim in there and was able to but when i insert my sim card it says: "Insert Sim to access network services" and there IS a sim in there. Our sims work fine on other phones. I don't understand what's going on. I've tried to flash a modem and even rooting it again, but Odin keeps failing or not responding. I cannot flash ANYTHING!!! Please help!
Flash back to a stock ROM and make sure everything works. Once this is done, call MetroPCS to see if they need to register the phone's imei on their system.
Thanks. It had official stock Rom already on it. I can try again if Odin decides to work for me. I have USB debugging on. I'll let you know what happens. I will also call Metro PCS. thanks again.

Omgoodness!! Thank you SO much! Calling metro pcs worked. I'm in disbelief! So simple, I didn't even think of it. I really appreciate your help!
No problem. Glad it worked. We're all here to help and learn from each other.

You'll need to flash the 35b bootstack before you flash the ROM for things to work properly on 47a(not sure about jasmine). Read bullet point 5 for a link for the boostack... https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...t/vs985-46a-stock-flashable-firmware-t3304365
did that.my phone started acting up that my sim was searching for global setting while on 47a for over a year, was giving a suggestion to tot back to stock the start over at 10b,my problem is whether I tot or kdz as soon as I root with stump(from xda site) I get sim non readable and searching for settings.this happens well before I even get to bootstocks,or ROMs.this is while trying to get it rooted on 10b,I've read many people are having a problem with sim cards..obviously tot/kdz gets me to stock with no problem, but trying to get from 10b upgraded is where the sim acts up..
as of now,it works and doesn't work.nothing to do with bootstacks,as I'm on 47a and it didn't work,I rebooted and it did work..then 2hrs later it screwed up again..not sure what it is....
download network settings guru apk and choose bands or *#*#4636#*#*
maybe your problem is something else...

OK...I really need to read more gooder So root is killing your signal somehow. Strange...
Can you grab some logs and post them please? Maybe a log before root when things are working, and one after root with a toggle of airplane mode a couple times to see if it kicks an error into the log and hopefully provide a lil info.
Also, does anything in the "about phone" settings info change after you root/lose service? For ex: unknown baseband, no imei, etc.
yes that's the main problem,I lose ime as well as phone number, and the phone says no sim card, and searching for global setting..if I reboot I may get sim card working but 9 out of 10 times the phone sim is unavailable.example is today, all day the phone worked great, then all of a sudden it lost sim card,no imie, phone number..after pulling battery and rebooting 3 times its working again.I'm on rooted 47a.
+1 For network signal guru, I had to unlock the other bands using that program. It took a few minutes.
It seems that the Verizon variants soft-lock the radio bands.
update this morning, when turning on my phone,it reads sim card searching for global settings, after pulling the battery it reboots and reads sim found, search for settings, global found, and phone works normal??, now if I tot to stock, phone is normal at 10b,then root, twrp etc and sim card will not read, after pulling battery it reads sim searching for global settings,4,5 seconds and phone is OK,then bootstacks,47a and lose sim, then pull battery and go thru the exact same thing, now I've gone to Verizon when sim is unreadable and with a new sim I still get unreadable sim, with no imie,no phone number??...
