You'll need to flash the 35b bootstack before you flash the ROM for things to work properly on 47a(not sure about jasmine). Read bullet point 5 for a link for the boostack... https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...t/vs985-46a-stock-flashable-firmware-t3304365
did that.my phone started acting up that my sim was searching for global setting while on 47a for over a year, was giving a suggestion to tot back to stock the start over at 10b,my problem is whether I tot or kdz as soon as I root with stump(from xda site) I get sim non readable and searching for settings.this happens well before I even get to bootstocks,or ROMs.this is while trying to get it rooted on 10b,I've read many people are having a problem with sim cards..obviously tot/kdz gets me to stock with no problem, but trying to get from 10b upgraded is where the sim acts up..
as of now,it works and doesn't work.nothing to do with bootstacks,as I'm on 47a and it didn't work,I rebooted and it did work..then 2hrs later it screwed up again..not sure what it is....
download network settings guru apk and choose bands or *#*#4636#*#*
maybe your problem is something else...

OK...I really need to read more gooder So root is killing your signal somehow. Strange...
Can you grab some logs and post them please? Maybe a log before root when things are working, and one after root with a toggle of airplane mode a couple times to see if it kicks an error into the log and hopefully provide a lil info.
Also, does anything in the "about phone" settings info change after you root/lose service? For ex: unknown baseband, no imei, etc.
yes that's the main problem,I lose ime as well as phone number, and the phone says no sim card, and searching for global setting..if I reboot I may get sim card working but 9 out of 10 times the phone sim is unavailable.example is today, all day the phone worked great, then all of a sudden it lost sim card,no imie, phone number..after pulling battery and rebooting 3 times its working again.I'm on rooted 47a.
+1 For network signal guru, I had to unlock the other bands using that program. It took a few minutes.
It seems that the Verizon variants soft-lock the radio bands.
update this morning, when turning on my phone,it reads sim card searching for global settings, after pulling the battery it reboots and reads sim found, search for settings, global found, and phone works normal??, now if I tot to stock, phone is normal at 10b,then root, twrp etc and sim card will not read, after pulling battery it reads sim searching for global settings,4,5 seconds and phone is OK,then bootstacks,47a and lose sim, then pull battery and go thru the exact same thing, now I've gone to Verizon when sim is unreadable and with a new sim I still get unreadable sim, with no imie,no phone number??...

Hello guys I was trying to root my Lg G pro E980 for AT&T. In my haste and eagerness to attain root on my device, I failed to notice some of the warnings in the OP. This is what I used to try to obtain root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362657 As you can see, it states that it does not work on AT&T 10p. After trying (and failing). My phone would no longer detect my sim card! I tried factory resetting with no luck. I also tried taking the sim card out and restarting without the sim and then reboot with the sim. This did not work either. Searching for networks yielded a network error. If it matters, my phone is unlocked and using a T mobile sim. I was working perfectly before the failed root attempt and now I get no service connectivity at all! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Update: I flashed the phone to an earlier stock version of the AT&T rom using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302660 and it still does not seem to read my T-mobile sim or an AT&T sim either! Please, any help at all is appreciated!

Have you still got an IMEI number? If you haven't that is why your phone cannot read the sim. If you don't have an IMEI, it is because your EFS has been corrupted but that shouldn't happen when rooting. If you have an EFS backup flash that, otherwise you have to take it to a service centre as there is no way to write an IMEI number onto your phone.
[SOLVED] I put my phone in airplane mode and my IMEI/Baseband came back, cheking the service menu I went to *#2263# and saw that "LTE Preference" was enabled. I clicked on Automatic and problem fixed. Probably a ROM bug? Who knows.
Hello there. I've been a reader of the XDA forums for some time but I never had any reason to create an account to post on the forums.
A few weeks ago I got a SGH-M919 as a gift, the phone only had a few months of use and I took it with me, everything worked fine except for the fact that I couldn't get 3G/4G (Not even EDGE), I was only able to connect to the GPRS network and I couldn't change the carrier (It always gave errors like "Unable to connect. Try later" and such). Although the phone is (apparently) quadband (I don't live in the US), it just didn't work but I lived with it.
Yesterday my phone was low on battery and I turned it off, a few hours later I turned it back on and it couldn't connect to the network, I went to the network options and once I pressed the screen to enter the Mobile Network options, I got an alert saying that I must have a SIM to access those option. At first I thought that the SIM got damaged somehow (This isn't the case since it works perfectly fine in another phone) but after a few minutes looking around, I checked the IMEI and instead of the usual number, I got a null/null message. My first reaction was to google what exactly happened and the answer I received was that the Baseband (Which is also Unknown) and IMEI are stored in a folder called EFS and that it got corrupted. Sweet. I looked for solutions but the main two I got (EFS Pro and ADB nvrestore) require a backup of the EFS (Which I don't have).
The other solution I got was to restore to the stock ROM (M919UVUFNH7) which I'm currently downloading from SamMobile (Sorry if this is considered spam). The phone is not rooted and has the stock ROM, it came with a CWM folder inside the internal memory with an .img file but it doesn't have CWM intalled. I've never upgraded it (Not sure if it came with that firmware from the store if it matters).
I live pretty much in what can be considered a "3rd world country". So I cannot send it to Samsung nor I have access to dollars.
Another question is, the phone was gifted to me already unlocked, I don't know if it came unlocked from the original carrier or if it was unlocked via a code or whatever. If I restore to the stock will it lock my phone to T-Mobile again? Would I be able to use it without a SIM card if it gets locked? It's impossible for me to get a T-Mobile SIM on my hands should I ever need one. In the worst case scenario that my phone gets locked, can I get it unlocked by flashing a custom ROM?
I have so many newbie questions that are already answered in other threads, but since it's a lot of information I want to get it as specific as possible to avoid breaking my phone.
If someone can help me with this issue, I'd really appreciate it.
i having same issue in M919
Do you guys get a message in notification bar about sim car removed or something about a sim card? Also, it doesn't matter if the sim card works in another phone. This device has a little issue with being picky with sim cards. If it's a cut sim card, get an original micro sim card

Hi, thanks for answering. I don't get a message about a removed SIM card. I'm also using an original micro SIM.
I already downloaded the Stock ROM but I haven't flashed it yet.

This is a known bug of the s4. It is a hardware problem and I have yet to find a solution. If you google it you will find many threads on different forums addressing this issue. Again, no known solution
Any answer/idea about my issue? . Sometimes I can access Mobile Network Options, sometimes I can't. I can't configure the APNs (They delete themselves after I click on save). Phone Serial Number didn't get deleted (Which is stored inside the EFS folder as far as I know). I also can't select a Network Mode. I click on GSM/WCDMA/LTE but it changes automatically to nothing.

That's what I said? One solution is to change sim cards if using a cut sim card to use an original micro sim. It's worked for a friend if someone I know and also for others on XDA. It's not the solution, but works for some

I would get a new sim anyway if I could. Flashing stock firmware wouldn't hurt as well

Before trying to flash it, is there any risk of getting simlocked again? I wouldn't want to get my IMEI fixed just to realize that my phone is locked to TMB again
UPDATE 1: My IMEI and Baseband randomly got back (My IMEISV was still missing) but after I restarted, they got deleted again.
UPDATE 2: Rooted, went to EFS, didn't find nv_data.
As above really. Not really sure if it's a hardware or a software error here. I've read that the sim card readers can be a little fragile but there was no fuss during the removal so I would be surprised if that was the issue. What I'm wondering is if I've missed something when un-rooting my phone.
I was using a custom ROM, all working fine, but I've got a new phone so I decided to unroot my old one to sell on. I flashed my original firmware using the LG Flash Tool. Firmware file is "UK Vodafone 16G D85510A_00.kdz". It all went great as far as I could tell and I started upgrading. The final upgrade was the install of Marshmallow 6.0.
In order to find out if my phone was locked or not I put my Wife's SIM in. Rather than coming up and asking for an unlock code it simply stated that there was no SIM inserted. I thought that was potentially down to the wrong SIM being in but when I tried mine I was met with the same error.
Have I missed something? Did I need to change the baseband or something during the process?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I've had kinda same problem since a couple of weeks ago...eventually SIM card gets read for a short while and get back to that No SIM card inserted state.
It has happened with any ROM as well as OG FW flashed through LG tool.
I haven't tried another SIM on my G3 but my SIM does work on other cell phones.
Hey, I just need someone to point me to the right direction.
I bought my LG G2 off ebay last year, it came flashed to boost mobile. All I need to do is flash it back to sprint and unlock the GSM on the phone.
I just found this forum and don't know where to start in this process..
Im on 5.0.2
Software version LS980ZVI
Model # LS980
Thank you if you can help
this thread has everything you need
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/general/ls980-lollipop-update-root-sim-unlock-t3357837
After you install TWRP successfully but before you unlock the sim card, You can install the latest version ZVI that is already rooted
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/development/rom-ls980-stock-5-0-2-zvi-flashable-t3303163
for unlocking the SIM card I would use this procedure instead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g2/general/ls980-lollipop-update-root-sim-unlock-t3357837
Thank you !!
Since you are on ZVI already, you could try the steps in this thread

Hey I did all the steps and got it unlocked but I cant to get my simple mobile sim card to work.
When I select the network mode global I have full bars, but when I try gsm/umts all my bars go away.
The phone is reading the sim card, but im not able to make calls/text. I Also get a authentication error when I try to update the prl/profile settings
did you do the twoclick procedure to unlock the sim card?
did you edit your apn? from the dialer, dial ##3282#
i am on freedompop so i changed my apn to freedompop.foggmobile.com. Simple mobile might require it to be mvno.att.net or something like that( i used that for airvoice).

Yep I did the two click method but on both of my sims my phone refuses to connect/ find networks. I get emergency calls only.
I used a freedompop sim too and changed my apn to freedompop.foggmobile.com. but it still wont connect to the network. When I go into the freedompop messenger app it says. I dont have any data.

that;s strange. It worked for me as soon as I added my APN. Does your phone see the APN for three.co.uk and 3hotspot when you have the freedompop SIM in there?
I don;t even use the Freedompop Messenger app. i just use the sim for data. i can test the functionality of the sim slot because I have a freedompop CDMA/Sprint sim card along with a GSM one.
there are a couple of other ways to unlock the sim slot-they're all based on the same way so don;t know if anything will be different. there is a simfree.exe and there is a thread by someone named summercat for a 1 click procedure. try one of those

yep thats the first apn I see "three.co.uk"
im gonna tot back to zv8 and try this one more time or im just gonna go with ring plus or ting.
But thanks for all the help.
And you used ##3282# to add the new apn, correct?
I would go down to zve, then do the Ota update from sprint to zvg or zvh, then do the unlock and root and sim unlock. It's worked fine for me on zvh and zvi.

Yep, I enabled the lte/cdma, rebooted, then enabled gsm, rebooted and I got it to say freedompop on the lockscreen but after a couple of min. It went back to searching for networks.
im gonna try zve to zvg with the two click method
Good luck. The way you know it is supposed to be correctly installed is that your boot animation changes for the yellow sprint spark animation to some swirly wavy rainbow. The carrier image gets swapped to a gsm version.

as the title suggests, i gotten the lg g3 from a guy off kijiji. He was with virgin mobile its d852. i payed to unlock the network and put my WIND sim in. I unlocked the network when there was no sim card. I put my sim card in but the only available networks i was getting is all away.
i swapped the sim thinking it might be that. no luck. i checked to see if this was blacklisted, it wasnt.
im running on cm13.
could this be because the bands are not activated? IF so, i tried following this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059 but it didnt work. i couldnt get the right driver to show up.
Also could it have been impacted by unlocking the network without the sim card in yet?
if someone can help with skype to speed things up for live debugging that would be greatly appreciated. you can add me at [email protected] for skype.
update: so i called wind to see if they can register the phone as on the network and they said they cant put the imei on the account. what does that mean?
Wind needs d852g... Not d852... There is some old threads of people converting the rom and modem to d852g which unlocks the band required for wind.... Search for that, no idea if it works or not tho
Sent from my LG-D852
i had a g3 before and it was d852 and it worked fine...
like i said its d852. i couldnt even flash d852g in.
swapped sim cards with a friend who is also on wind and my g3 couldnt get service but my sim card worked fine on her phone.
another update flashed 852g firmware on my 852 no change. i did so with 852g firmware and 852 dll.
i also flashed 852 tot with 852g dll and still no change in network.
called virgin mobile and they see that the imei is no longer on the account.
this is such a pain does anyone have anything to help??? is there an easy way to view all the bands the phone currently have??
anyone??
