[RECOVERY][ROM]Huawei U8500

Hey,
I recently bought this phone Huawei U8500, and I had a long search on the net where can I get a working recovery, finally I found a modified clockworkmod recovery.
It seems that this phone is highly unpopular.
I just wanted to share my finding.
Here you can download this modified version: Download
Steps to install recovery:
1. Download the clockworkmod
2. Unrar it somewhere on your computer
3. Turn off your phone
4. Press & Hold volume down key + call end (red) key and then press power key.
5. Launch the .bat file on your computer + connect your phone via USB
6. When it's finished, take out the battery and wait 5 seconds before putting it back in
7. Then you can access the recovery by holding volume up key + call(green) key

One thing I can recommend If your phones android build version doesn't end with "712", I suggest you to update it to the beta release, you'll have more functional dual-touch.
Here is the beta froyo update: Download
To install it:
1. Unrar it to your computer, and find a folder named "dload" with the biggest size.
2. Copy that "dload" filder to root of your SD card
3. turn off phone
4. Hold volume up key + end call (red) key and the press power key. Wait for it to load, it will say something like "Updating system" Wait for it to finish, if it says fail, just try again
5. After it says "Update complete" or "Update successful" just restart your phone and you'll have the new beta firmware.

To install one of these ROM's do the following:
1. Copy the ZIP file on root of your SD card, the ZIP file, not RAR.
2. Boot up your phone in recovery mode (by holding volume up key + call(green) key)
3. With your optical trackpad select "Install zip from sd card"
4. From the list choose your ZIP file
5. And then just wait till the installation is complete and then just restart the phone!

I highly recommend you to back up the original firmware before installing new ROM's
You can do that in recovery mode, just click on nandroid and follow the on screen instructions it will backup your current firmware + your currently installed apps.
I'm not responsible for bricking your phone, if something doesn't go well. By doing the things I wrote, you may void your phones warranty.

Bro, may i have to wipe all data via recovery like slash,cache and dalvik cache before i install froyo beta?

This is really helpful...a lot of Bangladeshis will be needing this. Telenor just launched this phone here.

I am using Huawei U8500 (Local branded as GrameenPhone Crystal). I have backed up my current ROM using ROM Manager. Can anyone confirm that the back-up ROM contains all the information including the Customized Branding???

Hi Monirr,
Can u confirm whether the link u provided is for only software upgrade or I can use it as a complete ROM backup (So that I can use it later in case of any failure to Upgrade the OS)

Yah This one is the complete stock rom. I checked and found gps preloaded rom and this one is identical.
So no worry about Warranty. just load it when you need to go to gps Customer care.

10x a lot, monirr, I waz searchin this stock rom ... & do u kno if itz upgradeable 2 Android 2.3.4 or any1 upgraded?

BTW: If you install the clockwordmod, you will lose the GP stock bootup screen (not the boot animation). So if you are going to claim warranty make sure you flash the GP firmware before you go to the GP centre.

There is a thread in the port section of the Cyanogenmod forum. It started with a lame question but later a lot was discussed about gingerbread 2.3.4. There is a Chinese developer (Slax) who has been working on the rom. However, this rom does have a few issues.
I don't know Chinese and google translate is incomprehensible. You should be able to find all the links needed in the cyanogenmod forum.

for froyo try trial and error with all the official roms. if you don't like one change it. eventually you will find one that meets your need.

I try this steps, but i stopped after 4th step...
I get a boot logo, and the XP can't recognize droid, unknown device.
than the .bat file just wait for connection.
i try lot of drivers (original U8500, Original Android, and the SDK's driver too) and still "unknown Andoid device"
If i get out battery, take back, and standard Power On, the XP recognize the "Android Composite ADB" device, and bind the SD card, and CDROM image, and works perfectly.
but i can't upgrade in Standard Mode
can anyone have an idea, how i can access the Droid under Recovery Mode?

I think you can use SP Flash tool. I have an Alcatel One Touch 985, another mtk6573 device, and it works fine. But before you do anything, please find a way to make a backup of your ROM. On the other hand, I just needed a modified boot image to root my phone, everything else was the same. Please take a look to yuweng's threads, you could find'em very useful!

Thanks Centsoarer, I have already tryed to use SP flash tool, but looks like the phone gets disconnected before the software can do anything. Result is that I cannot flash the phone. Or maybe I am doyng something wrong, but I don't manage to understand what. I try to put out the battery, then put in again, connect to the pc, the driver loads correctly, but it disconnects before anythyng can be done. So frustrating...

Have you tried an old SPFT version? I had pproblems flashing with the latest 3.x versions, used instead 2.x version and flashing was possible. It's a long shot, but could work.

TCL P600 / Alcatel One Touch Snap 7025D Root and GAPPS

Root and GAPPS instruction for TCL P600
Since TCL P600, TCL P606 and Alcatel One Touch Snap 7025D are the same phones I just write about TCL P600 now. But it's working for both.

HowTo Root TCL P600:
- Extract the file
- Start the flash tool in extracted folder
- Make sure under options it is choosen “with battery”
- In FlashTool load scatter file contained in folder
- Click checkboxes of BOOTIMG and RECOVERY
- Doubleclick on BOOTIMG and refer to TCL-P600_130417__boot_patched_130508-162244.img
- Doubleclick on RECOVERY and refer to TCL-P600_130417__recovery_130508-162244.img
- Switch off mobile and unplug it from usb
- Click “download” in flash tool
- Plug in usb in phone
- If you get a green circle from flash tool saying OK you’re ready with root shell
- Unplug phone and reboot into CWM
- Start Droidtools and plugin usb to phone again
- Install superuser of your choice into phone.
- Ready – you have full root to phone.
If you experience any problems please check if you used the right drivers. Please check drivers attached in folders. Only use them.

Full instruction of getting a well working TCL P600:
1. First of all I updated the phone with TCL updater to the latest firmware.
2. I rooted it as I described before.
3. I deleted lots of China Apps and also under system/media bootup sounds and some - for me - other stuff not needed in order to get more space on system partition.
4. I installed GAPPS through CWM. I did it with this one: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
After rebooting I got crash of google search. I ignored it and added my google account. After opening playstore then I got update for google search. After updating there is no crashing anymore.
All other gapps are working quite well. I tested GPS for the TCL P600 and was really suprised it works quite fast and accurate.
The only thing: There is no A-GPS setting. Let's say: There is no GPS setting at all. You can only switch GPS on and off. Settings are not included. Maybe this will be unlocked with a modded rom.
I'm now testing all functions in detail but up to now it works really great.
Hope you got it also up to this point. After all steps this phone is really perfect.

Hey i want to know if this recovery can be ported to my phone the alcatel one touch fierce it is the same as th one touch snap/7025d just without the 8mp camera and splash water proofing everything else is the same i had tried the aoutomatic port for CRR recovery but when it flashed the recovery i got a security error on my alcatel that says "error 101 unaouthorized software installed "it would not boot upand was bricked i bought the same phone again and i am wondering how y'all ported it to the fierces sister phone the one touch snap .thanks and have a great day

I don't know about porting possibility. I guess there is no way. This thread is not about changing the ROM but just how to root the TCL. There is no custom ROM out actually. So I don't see chances to port. Why should this be necessary? Is the stock ROM having problems?

NO i just want to see if thos recovery could work in the case that ne2w rom development would occur and to create a backup for people who need it that is why i wanted to see if it could be ported

Solved the problems
Solved the problems.
I was able to upgrade wiht "TCL 2.7.4 Updater Setup.exe" the mobile software, I had the "TCL 2.7.9 Updater Setup.exe" version and this version told me it was updated. When I tested with 2.7.4 has recharged my sw and have gone back to the top, I rooted again with wiemerd instructions and now everything has worked correctly.
Thank you for your instructions and weimerd Sixpenny by spend "TCL S 2.7.4 Updater Setup.exe" saved me.

Thank you, i will try. I must install some other version of OS, official is fully bugged. After i used ROMs from xda for last 2 years, on my old phone, i forgot how bugged is official android.
There are so much crashes with official version, corupted SD card and so on...

please help me. after reflashing of my rom with flash tool. i have lost my imei and i have not done backup of my efs. my alcatel ot 7025d can't recognize any sim. i need efs backup or way to solve of my problem. i live in ivory coast there are not alcatel sav in this country.

I used kingo for root. Its really one click root tool. If your phone is rooted, you can restore to default. You can try to restore it with that tool.

I have huge problem with this phone. There is all the time problem with memory card. I am using kingston class 10, 16gb memory but from time to time, after i take some picture or use default gallery, i get message that my memory card is corrupted. I need to restart phone and everything is ok, but sometimes it require even 3-5-7 restarts and its really anoying. Cant take pictures, use ringtone from memory cartd etc.
I tried with official updater but still use 4.2.1 version. Anyone have any newer custom rom?
Sorry for off topic but i am sure that this problems can be solved with some newer OS.

Yes, buy new card I tried million things, formatted card using computer, phone, different phone etc. At the end, i bought new card and there is no problems at all. I give my card to my gf and she is using card without problem for last half year.

How to Install Gapps Without Root For Nokia X , XL , X+

Okay My 3rd Post in the same Day XD,
Anyway For The People that want PlayStore on their Nokia Android Device , This is The Place for you.
PS : This Tutorial Will Also Root Your Device So you dont have to worry about rooting anymore .
Also Make Sure USB Debugging is turned on before doing anything.
Step 1. Get The Gapps For Nokia X Zip .
Link : HERE (YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THIS ONE, OTHERS DON'T WORK)
Step 2. Get Nokia X Manager Link : HERE
Step 3. Connect Your Device to the Computer and copy the Gapps Zip file into your phone, Open Nokia X Manager, If It Doesn't Recognize your device, Download and install adb drivers for your device. If Nokia X Manager recognizes your device , Click On Install Gapps
Step 4. It will say that Gapps is not found, just click okay and then browse for the zip file you downloaded. Nokia X Manager may not respond for a few seconds dont panic
Now head to your device,
Step 5. Your Device will reboot Into TWRP (Temporarily, You wont be able to boot into twrp again) click On install and choose the Gapps zip file and install it then reboot your device.
Step 6 : Enjoy PS : Playstore will appear after a few seconds after the phone reboots , cause its installing . and You will notice if you swipe to the Right you will see Install SuperSu and root your device if you would like to root your device just continue and your phone will root itself
Now you Just Installed Gapps and rooted your device in a matter of minutes Dont forget to hit The Thanks Button :3 If you got any problems please post a reply,
FIX for ADB Drivers out of Date :
Just Go to task manager and end task "adb drivers" and open Nokia X manager again, Do this Until the NokiaX manager works. Took me about 8 times to get it working,

You Can Try, but chances are you are going to get your device bricked. Nokia X , XL and X+ all have different variations of Roms, some Roms may work on more than one device but I'm not really sure about The Cook rom.

You can try. Im pretty sure there will be no bricking issue. The least that can happen is some bugs like camera issues and stuff. You can then flash stock again using NCS.

For The Nokia Android Series , There was no case of Major Brick, So even if you manage to do the worst of things to your phone you can still bring it back to stock Rom Using Nokia Care Suite Now Go ahead and flash your custom rom , if any problem occurs , You can flash back to stock via care suite This is my thread on how to flash back to stock , it even has a detailed youtube video

Cant Sign into PlayStore on Nokia X
I have a Nokia X and installed Gapps on the phone. The PlayStore app comes in the tiles.
But cant sign in. The below error appears:-
Cant establish a reliable connection to the server
This could be a temporary problem or your Android may not be provisioned for data services.If it continues call customer care.
Anybody faced this issue?

Try using some other Wi-fi connection.

When I start to intall Gapps, Nokia X Manager is not responding and my phone stays on the logo. I waited 20 minutes, but no results. What now? I installed the latest ADB drivers, because without them Nokia X Manager doesn't recognise my phone.
Edit: Nokia X Manager says that my phone will boot to TWRP, but it still stays on Nokia logo.

Try to restart PC.
Close all programs running.

Hy guy's I try to explain my problem with my bad spaghetti english
Yesterday i want try to root my note 2 with the 4.3 OS, i have never use kies.
I have rooted the phone with Vrooter and than I have installed superuser, because I dont understand the chinese
after I have installed the TWRP recovery, I have make the EFS and the system backup, format all the data and try to install DN£ ROM.....
I write tryu, because the operation was failled, and now I have the phone without OS.
I can go in the download mode, I can enter in the recovery, but I cant install my backup
I think I have to restore the firmaware, I have downloaded the firmaware 4.4 original, but the problem is Im one mac user and im not able to use Heimdall, I dont find the pit of my phone, and I have problem to put the file inside the progra,.
I have try to make this on the xp in one virtual machine, alll goes good...Odin see my phone connected ( I have installed the usb driver) but when I go in download moide for start the recovery the program stop, an d i lost the connection with the phone.....
What I can do???
I can recovery the phone from tne recoverY??'Somebody can help with me with one guide for Heimdall with the relative file I need??'

Firstly "someone help me!!" is not a proper topic title. People browsing forum will not know what your forum topic is about a glance as your title is not descriptive so you will likely get far less topic views as it will just be bypassed and ignored.
You also need to give more relevant information. What happens or what does it say when you try and use the restore function in TWRP?

Thankd for you advice
the problem is when I enter in the recovery and try to restore my backup I dont see it, i see nothing , I f I enter in the install menu I see my sd card, but no in the restore menu.......
One strange thing happenend me is when i reboot the recovery, first compare the advice I dont have the OS installed, and then appear this message: Your device does not appear to be rooted Install SUperSU now?
I click yes....but I think nothin happenend ....because appear every time...

Just flash the Original 4.4 you got and you're good to go. But I think you should have to use Windows PC, NOT under Virtual Machine. Install necessary drivers and try to flash the Original 4.4 rom you downloaded.

This is one of that thing I hate the apple world.... because is so hard find something for the Mac user.

is really hard with the mac, but at the end I have finally restore the firmware
Now I have to make the root another time, but first one big bacup with kies
