I have looked around a litle and haven't found the answer yet. Either I flash back to stock and update.. or wait for an update from hyperdrive.. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get the volte update with a rom?

I remember when I was running Hyperdrive, there was an option in Call Settings for "place calls over VoLTE" Perhaps its already available on hyperdrive? not sure. I remember reading that it was also a setting that you could not access through the previous update (NB4) but it was possible to access through a loophole in apex launcher. Are you in a VoLTE area? I downloaded the stock update just about the time it came out but T-Mo hasn't flipped the switch in my area.

When activating the multiwindow feature, i notice that there is no edit button?
Also the maximise option and switch divider are missing.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Are you in the UK and is it running EE firmware? That's the same issue I have and when I asked here about the same thing the general consensus was that you'll need to root and change roms.
I'm not rooted (yet ) so I'm hoping the 4.1.2 OTA update will fix this issue too.
running the xxlaj2 n the edit button is there..seems a uk faulty firmware

Yes I'm using EE, seems like it is a faulty firmware, will have to wait for them to fix it so i can run a mod that allow multi window on any app
Well the title says it all. I'm running the stock ROM right now because I need to get into the Data settings so my mms will work properly on Pageplus. Anyone know of a ROM that still allows access? If not I guess I could use GoSMS but I was just checking.
Also, are there any fixes yet to getting Drama shot working on the S3 yet?
Thanks
Generally anything that's Touchwiz and *not* AOSP should work.

Hidden menu apk search it will come up. Works on any rom.
I am having issues with 4g and 3g switching on the device. Some times there will be no signal at all. 80% of the time doing an Airplane mode cycle will fix it. however this is dozens of times a day. This has been an issue since the M8 release. Can anyone send clear directions to a fix please.

Kernal 3.4.0-CM+
Maybe this post will help. I believe it's in the forum of the ROM you are using. In the future, try reading here for issues.

Not sure if you are being intentionally funny or not, but that link does not go to any thread....
If it was an accident, I think this would be the correct one, right?

I am not sure what post you were directing that at though.
EDIT: see below for intended post.

Tried that
i couldnt get the APN settings to open up. Through the shortcut maker or terminal. I tried this before posting a new thread. i would have responded to the ongoing thread but XDA rules wont let me post to that one. Had to post here.

No problem, everyone starts somewhere.
Try the app "APN Change" from the play store.
better but . . .
So I tried the recommended settings change. Used the Change APN app. LTE is more reliable however when it switches from lte to 3g it will hang for some time or have no connection at all until i cycle airplane mode.

What radio do you have? (What was the last version of stock you were on?)
Can you get a logcat and radio logcat (logcat -b radio) of the issue happening?
I am using ZVC. The last stock rom i was on was Stocktimus CE 1.5
I dont know how to pull a logcat. Although i have quite a bit of experience flashing and recovering a device from soft brick, I am not much help with troubleshooting. I know just enough to be dangerous.
Hi it was my post that was linked to about adding APNs. I have found that after I flashed stock rooted zvc, updated prl and profile, and restored my CM11 backup, data works fine without requiring a manual APN edit.
However, currently I am running the unofficial GEE-based CM build. I had problems with NFC and battery life last time I tried the official builds (late September), and I do not know the cause or status of those issues. Maybe Shelnutt can weigh in

i just came from using stocktimus again because i tired of the radio nfc and battery issues as well. dwielunski, what stock rom do you use?
In CM and some others, if you go to settings>mobile networks, there is a built-in shortcut to the APN settings
But honestly, this issue is the most frustrating thing among the AOSP roms, at least for me. It's the one thing that makes me keep flashing back to stock-based ROM's every time I try CM or PA or anything. Why isn't there a clear-cut solution to this when it's such a common problem and we've known about it for so long?

Stock rooted zvc as I said. At one point I was using that with a bunch of xposed mods but pretty happy with cm these days. Probably will stay on this until L drops and we get a port. I haven't had any data issues but not sure about NFC
Hey guys, my Spring Galaxy S3 got a notification a few days ago saying "System update downloaded, Android system update."
I'm running 4.4.2 stock and I'm rooted. I have no idea what this update is. The size is 83.6 MB. If this is a proper update, I will probably lose root and I don't want that. Does anyone know what this update is specifically? And how can I get rid of it from showing up on my notifications if I chose not to update?
Thanks!

Some discussion over in the General and Development forums. Look for "NJ2".
Consensus is you will lose root, this breaks TowelRoot but not other methods.
Official description is "HD Voice Icon support, Google security patches".
Haven't seen any noticeable differences from the prior version.

Awesome thanks for the information! Sadly I did root with Towelroot. Is there a way to just get rid of this update from my phone?
I am running the latest leedroid currently but I have had the same issue on stock. So how can I get VoLTE enabled? I have heard the clarity of VoLTE on my Nexus 6P in the past so I know it isn't enabled. I just want that clearness again.

If you are in the united states, volte will only work on stock or stock based Roms. It has to do with the system partition being modified. Only reason stock based roms have volte is because all mods are managed by magisk, which is what they call "systemless".

I'm in the US and I am running on T-mobile via metropcs. On my Nexus 6P VoLTE worked with them. can anyone in the US on tmobile confirm VoLTE working on leedroid?

VoLTE does not work on LeeDrOiD Oreo for any of the US Carriers. Regarding the comment made in a previous reply, VoLTE worked just fine on the HTC10 Viper Nougat ROM.
I know for a fact that HTC released Oreo for the 10 in early January, pulled it, and then re-released it a few weeks later. Why? I'm not sure. I do know that that the firmware available from the link provided in the LeeDrOiD ROM gets you firmware dated January 3rd, 2018, which is from the first release. I haven't been able to find the firmware from the late January release, or even if it is the same or not.
I'm currently researching how to revert to stock and to take the update directly from HTC, see if it works on their version, and if it does, remain stock. I asked about the issue on the LeeDeOiD page, and got no answers what so ever. As a matter of fact. several people asked and no one got an answer.
I am not sure if this is a ROM issue, or a firmware issue. You say you have a WWE version phone, with WWE version firmware? I have US Unlocked with 3.16.617.2 9.0 Not only does my VoLTE not work, but I lost the call waiting and call forwarding features as well.
I'm thinking volte won't work for awhile until Oreo has a few updates and HTC can get their crap in control and the devs can work better with what HTC gives us. The only reason we are this far is because HTC gave us the kernel source and the devs are trying their hardest with it. They are having many other difficulties with aosp. I'm sure stock based ROMs will get smoother and work better. But for now, we will have to wait
