VoLTE setting enabled but seems to not work - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I am running the latest leedroid currently but I have had the same issue on stock. So how can I get VoLTE enabled? I have heard the clarity of VoLTE on my Nexus 6P in the past so I know it isn't enabled. I just want that clearness again.

If you are in the united states, volte will only work on stock or stock based Roms. It has to do with the system partition being modified. Only reason stock based roms have volte is because all mods are managed by magisk, which is what they call "systemless".

I'm in the US and I am running on T-mobile via metropcs. On my Nexus 6P VoLTE worked with them. can anyone in the US on tmobile confirm VoLTE working on leedroid?

VoLTE does not work on LeeDrOiD Oreo for any of the US Carriers. Regarding the comment made in a previous reply, VoLTE worked just fine on the HTC10 Viper Nougat ROM.
I know for a fact that HTC released Oreo for the 10 in early January, pulled it, and then re-released it a few weeks later. Why? I'm not sure. I do know that that the firmware available from the link provided in the LeeDrOiD ROM gets you firmware dated January 3rd, 2018, which is from the first release. I haven't been able to find the firmware from the late January release, or even if it is the same or not.
I'm currently researching how to revert to stock and to take the update directly from HTC, see if it works on their version, and if it does, remain stock. I asked about the issue on the LeeDeOiD page, and got no answers what so ever. As a matter of fact. several people asked and no one got an answer.
I am not sure if this is a ROM issue, or a firmware issue. You say you have a WWE version phone, with WWE version firmware? I have US Unlocked with 3.16.617.2 9.0 Not only does my VoLTE not work, but I lost the call waiting and call forwarding features as well.

I'm thinking volte won't work for awhile until Oreo has a few updates and HTC can get their crap in control and the devs can work better with what HTC gives us. The only reason we are this far is because HTC gave us the kernel source and the devs are trying their hardest with it. They are having many other difficulties with aosp. I'm sure stock based ROMs will get smoother and work better. But for now, we will have to wait

Software update 1.96.709.5 for Taiwanese version

Hi guys,
I'm posting to let you know that today my HTC 10 Taiwanese (stock and unlocked) received the update version 1.96.709.5 (456,99 MB) with the following improvements:
1) Support for VoLTE
2) Support for Wifi calling
3) Google Security Update (September 1)
4) System and Camera enhancements
I though it was Nougat but when I saw the size I realized it's not
Anyway an update is always welcome for me.
Does this update fix the "video flickering issue" in low light?

Hi,
I cannot find menu to enable VoLTE and WiFi calling features after updated to this version.
Did you find this feature on "setting/call/....??
Sent from my HTC_M10h using Tapatalk
Me too! Despite it's indicated in the update there's no "Enhanced call service" in Call settings.
Maybe these options are shown only if you have a compatible SIM card or carrier? It's a guess, I don't know

i am using tw set 64gb, no updates so far...is there something wrong with my fone?
VoTE or WiFi Calling probably only activate if you have a special Taiwan Carrier.
It's not showing up for me either in Switzerland.
Anyone here in Taiwan with working VoLTE or WiFi Calling?
New update 1.98. 709.5
New update today. Still no VoLTE or WiFi calling in calls menu.
yes these feature only appear if you have a Taiwanese carrier. I have a sim card for Chunghwa Telecom and T-mobile. As soon as I insert the T-Mobile sim card, the phone restarts and these settings goes away.
Flash the region specific firmware to get volte, I got a CID_622 (HK specific), if I switch to another other firmware then volte wil gone.
look forward someone able to combine all of them in a custom rom.
Nothing new with fm radio function actually activated?

Moto Z2 Force Xt1789-06 UK Vodafone Oreo update?

Got a good deal on a moto z2 force (with 3 moto mod accessories, so had to snap it up) - From Vodafone UK
Question about Oreo updates on this phone. Does not exist yet as I believe it is down to the carrier and networks to finalise, test and release, hence the delays.
I am aware that there are quite a few oreo firmware for retail models. (Although none exist yet for XT1789-06?) I have already unlocked the bootloader and I wanted to update to the recent ones. What I am worried about is the IMEI baseband. Anyone had success with this specific model (06)?
There's root, su ,magisk and xposed on this thread thanks to enetec.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2...w-to-safely-blunlock-twrp-root-t3704596/page1
Have not seen any oreo related updates, I did read on another thread that the t-mobile Oreo update was pulled because it was having issues with calls I think so maybe our version they are having the same issues. Have not even found a flash all file for our device so one a bit hesitant about even trying any other Rom.
Official bootable and flashable twrp works on nougat. Sprint wasn't on Oreo until late Feb z so I have used the first iteration on my phone before the Oreo OTA. It will have decryption support which is advised compared to encryption not working. That's a huge security risk. I'd suggest using official twrp and magisk if you want root. That way you keep encryption.

Hi there updated mine to Oreo with the file in this link https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/official/RETAIL just follow the instructions in the link In post 2 on this thread, I'm pretty sure you can skip the unlocking bootloader (unless you want root as I do)
No, the above is no good for my carrier/phone (Vodaphone UK) Results in wifi and modem not working. Also 3 sparse files are missing. Used a US based USC Oreo rom and works perfectly now however

I had the the wifi problem when i flashed twrp (but still had network), then flashed the rom in my last post I am also on the uk vodafone model. could you post a link to the rom you flashed please.
It was this one https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754473797
It did give error in regards to the bootloader writing (and timed out - so did not overwrite bootloader) - I already have bootloader unlocked and was on Nougat when I recieved the phone. After updating to oreo, however with the exception of the carrier logo during boot, I have found no issues whatsoever with this rom on a Vodafone XT1789-06 UK model device. I also uninstalled or disabled US based applications / carrier bloat.
Everything works fine (Moto mods, Wifi, network, camera, 3d acceleration) etc
(Note, ignore the fact that the download is from the MotoZ2 play folder, there was no new directory for Z2 Force according to the uploader)
Cheers for the link already had this file downloaded but didn't flash it as I noticed it was a us Version. there was a update at 19:30 on the link I posted but have not flashed it yet, no bloatware on this rom just plain stock and all mods work will flash the update sometime over the weekend and let you know how it goes.
I tried the newer version recently and same issue (no wifi or modem), so reverted back to USC version
Hello guys i also have the z2 force on UK Vodafone and looking for a 8.0 update. Did you guys find one that completely works? i dont want to unlock the bootloader or root (stops my bank app).
Any news on this please?

Unlocking bootloader doesn't stop Banking apps but root will, I have an unlocked bootloader and on the xt1789-06 Vodafone UK running stock ROM from the link I posted above got both nationwide and Barclays apps and both run fine if you flash the first n version it will do all the seamless updates, it just seems Vodafone are a bit slow at pushing them.

I updated the phone to pie,no signal

Yesterday,I updated the phone to pie with complete firmware package and try it.I using Sprint version,it can't be checked the SIM card....What should I do?Just wait the Sprint release the pie?...I tried to flash the old XT1789-05’s baseband,It is invalid.I am a novice here.
The package is RETIN/XT1789-06_NASH_RETIN_9.0_PPX29.159-19_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip

Sprint isn't releasing pie. You kind of out of luck at the moment. Since you've updated your modem to pie, you can't go back to oreo modems. Hopefully something comes along that will be useful but that's a big if and even when. It has been stated many times in this forum not to flash firmware not intended for your variant, this is why. Sorry.
Your best bet is wait for a pie flash all for Verizon and hopefully it fixes it for you. We have someone in the Z2 discord who has a Sprint variant on full VZW pie firmware that works. YMMV though as it is from another variant.

Wifi Calling on Unlocked Samsung s20+ 5G

I recently bought the new unlocked Samsung s20+ 5G BTS phone from the Samsung website. I currently have AT&T and because I live in a rural area the wifi calling and texting are a must. I have tried contacting AT&T and also Samsung to help get the wifi calling on my s20 but no dice. I am also currently new to this and in desperate need of help as I love the s20+. I don't want to have to use my note 9 because I spent money on my s20+.

Unfortunately the slider to enable VoWIFI is greyed out.
I'm hardly the expert, but seems the the only option to get VoWIFI on the unlocked firmware is to...switch to T-Mobile. It's not just a matter of getting your IMEI registered either. I have an AT&T branded S20+ which I flashed to the unlocked firmware and still no VoWiFi for me. It was there on the AT&T firmware.
If it's a must, maybe flash the CSC or full firmware for AT&T using patched ODIN.
If you can wait a bit, I can confirm that WiFi calling can be enabled on the unlocked S20+ on AT&T on OneUI 3.0/Android 11. It was a pleasant surprise.
I can confirm that WiFi calling DOES work on OneUI 3.0/Android 11 for AT&T. Take that AT&T!!
I will warn you if you attempt this that it was a real PITA to flash back to BTIF to make this happen. My phone just didn't want to take the flash. I had to try several different versions of ODIN before it finally took.
The only thing left that doesn't work is video calling. I don't care about that though as the rest of my family is all Apple addicts so I have to use Duo any way.

Whenever Samsung releases the first public version of Android 11. At the rate they're going in the beta, I'd be shocked if it is not released by the end of the year. My guess would be by early December. You can hop into the beta, but it's not exactly for the faint of heart if you missed your chance to enroll in their official program. If you're not comfortable flashing phones and/or don't want to wipe your data and start over, I'd wait.

+1 10 months out from a fellow Rogers customer.
I flashed the U1 FW out of box a year ago as I just didn't want any Rogers bloat. 5G was starting out at the time and I never noticed since LTE/LTE+ was sufficient for my usage. It was only when I upgrade my sister's iPhone that I noticed we had 5G in the area.
It's showing as RWC/RWC/XAC/RWC now though. And sw update is showing registration failed
Edit: Reflashed the U1 Home CSC looks to have resolved it. Got 5G and Rogers features and back to XAA/XAA/XAC

Have been using verizon for about 5 months beside atnt with no issues no 5g in my area yet but haven't had any issues with either

Tried Lineage, Crdroid. Neither sees SIM card and settings for that greyed out. I assume is the same for PE and AICP. Only one that works is Paranoid Android but it really doesn't have any features to make it more attractive than stock OOS. Seems Verizon users are SOL when it comes to custom Roms. At least for now.

How are you getting past the error on Pa that rebooting to recovery to factory reset over and over again?. I've heard Pa has data but when I flash it continually loops back into recovery trying to factory reset. And I'm performing factory reset with op8 stock recovery prior to flashing. But still saw message if you have sim insert now at set-up. So I figured it didn't have data as well. The problem is we have single sim ssss. And none of these custom builds have our specific vendor blobs. So until someone steps up and builds for us specifically . Nothing is going to get data. I'm working with maintainer of Pixel experience and Cr-droid. But seems to be a tough process for them. Here's to developing some patience and being on stock. I've tried flashing global as well and no data. However I could on A10. If anyone on the Verizon op8 variant updated ota to A11 and has flashed something they get data/internet signal on,I'd love to know.

Well I haven't done anything with PA since beta 2. If I recall it was a Pita to install at the time but I was able to twice with Verizon working. Don't know about now. When I did flash it I asked the Dev what he did to make Verizon work on that ROM but all he said was "nothing special".

I honestly can't remember. I think I sideloaded it because I couldn't make fastboot update work. But again I really can't remember. Guess my next question is how did you possibly get A11 on both slots? I ran logcat through download trying to snag url or dl link for rom and nothing. Been reading through Pa thread. That's how you got it working. I still have A10 on slot_a.
Just installed PA beta 6. Got oos11 on both slots with oxygen updater. Tried fastboot update but that produced error messages. Unzipped PA files and manually flashed them. Booted up fine. Got Verizon calls and text working (had to change APN fron VZWINTERNET to one of the others--can't remember which. I could NOT get fingerprint to work but face recognition worked. Again the was such a plain vanilla ROM and I really couldn't see any advantage to using it so went back to stock.
Haven't got Verizon myself as I'm in the UK. But the issues I've seen from that network are crazy.
Are you all planning to stay with Verizon? Personally I'd leave them, it's a terrible thing to have to deal with on any phone let alone one that costs so much...
I wouldn't commit to another contract with them for any reason until that limitation is gone.

Yes I agree. That's why Luk agreed to make patches for gerrit. Super cool. Now we all get to flash nice custom roms. Seems as if we follow one another around threads as well. He he. I truly love this device. With msm in our back pockets it's amazing.
